Along with a complicated family history preventing them from being legally identified, William’s mum and dad say they would not put themselves in the public eye regardless, because they do not want his other siblings to be identified.

I understand their desire of protecting their children BUT with the Daniel Morcombe case I FELT the grief on the Morcombs faces and knew Daniel had an identical twin who we saw a number of times which punched home the personal reality. Of course someone somewhere won't remember their names but refer to them as the family who lost their boy.

Nothing would get in their way of finding their Daniel.
How could anyone not remember the pain Denise's eyes.
IMO it was the Morcombs' openness and perseverance that helped find their son.

At this point there should be no holds barred. Anything, ANYTHING whatever to find William.

Combine that with the 9 year old who was attempted to be abducted, something was/is definitely going on around there

What 9 year old?!!!! How did I miss that?!

Was it a 9 year old boy?

I only ask because 90% of children who are subjected to this stuff are girls. So three boys would start to seem more like a cluster of connected events.

Yes I watched that earlier but its been said a few times, it was a girl being approached previously . I noticed the detective did not correct him when he said it was a boy in the interview, so was wondering where that it was a girl idea came from.

this happened in march this year, and its a white 4wd...

Police are investigating after a boy was approached at Lake Cathie on Thursday.
Police would like to speak to a man who may be able to help. He is described as being aged in his early 40s, tall, and with a grey goatee.

The vehicle in the incident is described as a new white Toyota 4WD, possibly a Hilux model, with a canopy, and a blue zig-zag sticker with numbers over the front wheel arch.

Maybe it was prospective buyers who had decided to go back for a second look at the vacant land, maybe one main buyer and a mate checking it out again... they should find out who was handling the sale of that land and go through everyone who ever looked at that block or enquired about it...

we did talk about this in a previous thread...if the house was unoccupied it would not be unusual for people to go and have a look at it without an agent.

I was thinking it was a vacant block of land

Does anyone recall when the foster father FIRST got word, that his son was missing please ?

Also I wonder as he was driving home and up the streets if he noticed anything

I must have read the thread wrong, sorry everyone

I don't know for sure either. Thought I once heard he was called and told. But more recently it seems he arrived home to the news.

The most recent audio interview seemed to imply he came home and found out, but it wasn't said explicitly.

I still think the suspicious car activity is unrelated to William' s disappearance. Sounds very much like drug dealing. It makes sense to choose a quiet area, especially a dead end street. No thru traffic lessens the chance of being observed. I strongly feel that William has perhaps come across this deal and been taken to protect the drug mob or else he has accidentally been hit by one of these cars. He may have been knocked unconscious and therefore no blood to see / smell. Novice drug people may have panicked and taken him rather than get help for him and expose their "business". I think the police have spent a year working on an abduction theory but may be totally on the wrong track.

That you Col? Only kidding ;-) it's just that your theory is very left field and, MOO, highly unlikely.

Edit to add: your comment is also curiously contradictory. You open by stating that you think the 'drug deal' car activity "is unrelated to William's disappearance" (as though in your mind this drug deal scenario and William's fate are completely different incidences). However, you immediately go on to detail how you "feel strongly" that it is related. Just saying...

Just thinking out aloud, the profiler describes the perp as having high risk taking behaviour. If this was an opportunistic abduction, the stats are highest for men under the age of 30 and significantly decreases with age. They usually have a previous criminal record due to impulsiveness. Drug taking and drink driving are considered high risk behaviour. I would not be surprised to see a younger man involved and drugs or alcohol involved in this scenario. If this was done by an older male above 50, I still think he would have a criminal record.
