I read the rap sheet, bookmarked it and now - pay wall. :banghead:

2008-2010 is identical with the gap, unfortunately - if I remember well. Now I will wait and see, what news will come up.

6 Nov 2003 (Wellington) & 6 April 2004 (Dubbo) - Assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Then to the 2015 - Breaching AVO.

11 years .... ??????

So surely armed with all that information they can rule him in or out?

He may already be ruled out for all we know. I doubt there will be any kind of media release to let us know if a POI is no longer considered a POI, given 'POI' doesn't (necessarily) mean suspected of a crime. It just means "person with information relevant to the case".

William Tyrrell: Paedophile ‘person of interest’ Anthony Jones has a lengthy record

I've often wondered about the gap in AJ's rap sheet.

Here we have, up until April 2004, a person who appears to have been a career criminal. Surely, he didn't receive a sentence of 11 years for 2 counts of AOABH?

If convicted, AJ may have been sentenced to some time in jail but I haven't been able to find any information saying he was incarcerated at all during that time.

I find it hard to believe he was the type to 'go straight' for any period of time either.

I wonder what he was up to? No good no doubt.

Let's hope it's like the Khandalyce & Karlie case, where things were very quiet for a long time too, then suddenly... success! Although of course that is just the first part of the investigation, but what a mighty job they did.

Very quiet on this thread. 13+ months and still no closer to finding out if William is coming home safe. No news since AJ's car was seized. Hope this means that DI Jubelin et al are closer to solving the mystery of William's disappearance.

You could well be onto something FG. Certainly worth considering.

Is there anybody, who knows or is able to sleuth, when AJ did work as a truck driver and where (state)? Around 2008-10 possibly?
My question isn't directly related to our little spiderman, but indirect absolutely might be.

Mixed in with questions about the gap in his rap sheet is, what medication had he not been taking over the period of time he had committed the assaults on the 11 year old. Was it Jones who had been giving the child catapress? If so, did Jones have ADHD? It would explain somewhat his criminal history, a gap in his rap sheet and some stability if he had been taking medication regularly if he had been diagnosed and treated as an adult. Many people with mental health issues, that are undiagnosed, end up having substance abuse issues, when looked at carefully are often them self medicating as they do not have a diagnosis. MOO

The Catapress is another point that I'd consider. It* is a very specialised medication and not prescribed without a diagnosis. You could be right he may have had a long period of stability if he was receiving treatment and it was stated he had a diagnosed mental health disorder at sentencing. That and comorbid alcohol abuse mitigated his sentence.

The flip side, of course, is that the Catapress was prescribed to someone else.

*edit: For "It" read ADHD medication.

I thought the main function of catapress is to lower blood pressure and so is mainly used in that capacity but was found to be beneficial to people who have to take stimulant medication. I had not heard of it being used until this case as a way to sedate someone, usually rohypnol, which would be so much more difficult to get, or if dealing with kids, a dose of phenergen? My point being, catapress is fairly easy to get. When you mention someone else's medication it makes me think of the police looking into BS medical records from the 80's, I feel sure something about that mentioned at one of his court dates. Intriguing... Anyway if he was a long distance truck driver or had ADHD we could be looking at self medicating with ice, speed and alcohol to come down. moo

Sorry, froggy, by 'It' I meant ADHD medication (since edited). Truck drivers use downers and uppers (whatever they can get) to literally knock themselves out when they have to sleep and drive like the clappers when they don't. I'd say a high proportion of long-haul truckies would have mental health disorders and problems with legal (and illegal) drugs.

Catapres (Clonipine)

"Most adverse effects are mild and tend to diminish with continued therapy. The most frequent [adverse effects] (which appear to be dose-related) are: dry mouth, occurring in about 40 of 100 patients; drowsiness, about 33 in 100; dizziness, about 16 in 100; constipation and sedation, [each] about 10 in 100."

Also, the mention of LE looking into BS' medication at the time in question is interesting.

I read that AJs' 11yr old victim had aspergers (can't find a decent link), could he have been witholding doses for days and then when he felt one of his sick urges, gave a double or triple dose? I have no idea what the effect might be

As has been stated before - he has a 27 Page Rap sheet, we have only been given 22 charges in the list given in this article.

The heading of TONY JONES (SELECTED) RAP SHEET tells us that we have not been given his complete rap sheet and we have no idea what has been left off or what years those convictions left off happened.

I'm sure someone like TJ wouldn't have been idle for 11 years.

(I didn't have a problem with a paywall either)

Added a link to Catapres side effects above. Side effects are dose related.

It wasn't AJ's victim that had aspergers is was Paul Bickfords, ex president of GAPA.

The ex-president of the group is currently serving a 16-month suspended sentence for abuse against an 11-year-old girl who suffers from Asperger's syndrome

Pay walled for me too. Now that I think about it, when I could read the article online, the journalist did write that they were 'selected charges' (or words to that effect) from AJ's rap sheet. Maybe there are Court Suppression Orders in place and that's why some aren't included? I wonder why?
