The analysts are now sifting through and cross-checking everything they have.
They have established that around 200 people were within a 1km radius of William’s grandmother’s house when he went missing. They are checking and plotting the movements of every single one of those people.
Progress, the detectives say, is being able to exclude people from the investigation.

I remember this process being used in the Claremont murders. I thought at the time it was really clever. Basically everyone who was in/around the clubs on the night one of the girls disappeared was asked who was with them and who else they knew/saw etc in the same place. Then those reports were cross-referenced. So if A said she was with B and C and saw L and M that immediately placed 5 people at the club.

This now reminds me of the message sent out that if you were in the Kendall area and have not come forward it won't bode well for you. This is how they know who was there..... I wonder who was 'spotted' there and hasn't come forward to confirm their presence?

The above comment was made on the morning after William went missing:

Arriving at the house on Benaroon Drive, *Partridge is thinking, “Something just doesn’t feel right about this whole thing.”

Maybe the DSC Partridge thought by that stage it wasn't a case of a child who had wandered off; presumably into Kendall State Forest, rather one of a kidnapping/abduction.

Strange coincidences: FF away and skyping for a short time, FM cooking tea, sister just using the toilet, FGM sitting on the porch and hears nothing, and exactly during that minimal time a little child "disappears" as beeing swallowed by the surface of the earth - that sounds weird, even for an officer, I think. And who knows, what he saw/heard and what athmosphere he felt??

This is a good point. I would have thought that FM would have said the FGM " can you just watch William for a bit while I take xxxx to the toilet and make a cup of tea" He was only three after all. I also would have thought that as they were expecting FF back that they would have been watching that William didnt run out into the driveway. It makes you wonder if the time William was out of sight was as short as it was told.

The wisdom of hindsight is a wonderful thing. I'll bet everything that the foster family wish they'd had it on that terrible day.

Three of them are named in this article..........http://www.theguardian.com/australi...d-over-alleged-online-child-exploitation-ring

Detectives were forced to act in October and November after it was believed one of the potential victims, a pre-teen girl, became at risk of harm.

Darren John McCarthy, 50, William Gerard Buenen, 47, Anne Eileen Zarb, 45, and the grandfather have been in custody since they were arrested, having not applied for bail.

A 49-year-old man, who is yet to face court, was granted bail after being arrested at his work on Friday.

They were arrested after detectives were able to engage with them online.

Benaroon Drive may be a cul de sac but the fact, that there is no fence around FGM's plot would have made me fearful (thinking of me as a FM/FGM).

The historical charges were against TWO young girls. We don't know which of these MS made the phone call to. One of them may have still had some form of relationship with BS and MS, but maybe the other didn't. (in MOO she didn't)
I have personally known of cases where there may be 3 or 4 kids in a family with an abuser, but maybe because of age at the time of the offences, some may totally break away from that relationship, where others may still maintain some contact. For example an older child might remember more, or been a witness to more.

In addition, I believe the alleged victims' mother and grandmother (BS' ex-wife and mother-in-law) were also witnesses to the alleged injuries to and statements by the girls in 1987. Therefore, it's also possible one of those women may have been the recipient of the text allegedly written and sent by MS.

The disturbing thing is at least 4 drivers haven't come forward (by the sounds of it.) How many POIs are there so far? Ugh... :(

This is a tiny town where everyone knows everyone. The drivers would have almost certainly heard about the case. No excuse for them not to come forward.

In addition to the 2 cars that were parked opposite FGM's house, there were another 2 suspicious cars:

http://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2015-...sed-in-search-for-3yo-william-tyrrell/6753948

Officers also want to identify another two vehicles that were seen travelling in Benaroon Drive around the time William was last seen.

One was described as a dark green or greyish-coloured sedan.

"That drove past the driveway of 48 Benaroon Drive, when William and his sister were riding their bikes on the driveway on the morning of his disappearance," Detective Inspector Jubelin said.

"That vehicle did a u-turn shortly after driving past the driveway, then drove out of Benaroon Drive.

"We also have reports of a four-wheel-drive leaving Benaroon Drive around the time that William disappeared."

He said investigators were interested in any information regarding a four-wheel-drive in the area due to independent information received.

Still no reward being offered. I think the police know who the perp is and need the evidence before they make a move, hence no need to pay out a reward when they know who it is. I figure the police know he has been killed, so no need to rush for an arrest as the perp is either in prison or being watched closely

I am VERY interested in this case, and although I don't like to come here any more, I do peek in every now and then to see if anything is new, or if the focus has shifted from the repairman yet. (I see he is still the main topic of conversation!)

One thing that STRUCK me this time, is the news article linked just above (I'll post link again below my post here). I had always known about the neighbour woman having gone out. I recall something about the timing being weird, to begin with.. something about her saying she heard the kids playing in the yard (from memory), but the timing kind of being off. In fact, I think if I look back (which I will do in the next day), I will find that a different time was quoted earlier.

Anyway, ... when I read the article, it says within a MINUTE???? You know, we always always think of perps as being men, right? And even more especially if a crime happens to involve a young toddler. But, what if???? Has this woman been checked out as to where she went, what she did, who she saw, if she was where she was supposed to be, and how long she was gone.. amongst other things? Not to cast a shadow on an innocent neighbour, but, in this particular case, considering the 'opportunistic', 'plucking', and all of that.. I hope she and her circumstances were fully checked out, even though she is a woman, and even though she is a neighbour.

This comment bugged me too... Were the cars not there? Are the neighbours unobservant (and yet know to the MINUTE what time they left)? It just stood out to me although I'm not really sure why. I have no real opinion about these neighbours (haven't sleuthed, dont know names), but interesting you bring up the possibility of a woman abductor... Did anyone else read somewhere that a person noticed a large woman behaving strangely parked on a roadside somewhere in the area around the time he went missing. Didnt think much of it when i read it as it could be anything (she saw a spider in the car, telling kids off, toilet break lol), but who knows. Will see if i can find where i read it and try to post a link.

Editing to add: I can only find the info about a woman acting suspiciously on social media... Couldn't find it in any official sources anywhere.

I’m sure that a team would have been inside the house on that first day, while others were out searching, asking lots of questions. Among them, questions like ….. ‘did you have any visitors today?’ …. ‘were you expecting any visitors today?’.

They would have soon heard that the washing machine repairman was probably going to come by, and grandma had tried to ring him with no success.
And after that first day, I wonder how long it took them to connect Spedding’s name with his alleged past child sex crimes – an hour, a day, a few days? And how long to get the data for his phone activity and location for that day/morning? Then the sex crimes squad arrived.

I personally have never seen the sex crimes squad deployed, and so quickly, in a missing child case before … unless it was relevant. My mind started changing from 'lost child' to 'who has taken this child?' from that point on.

Fehon says while the initial focus was on finding “young William” in the bush, a team of investigators had looked at other possibilities “from day one”. Detectives were on the scene that afternoon. The “errand” William’s father was on has been investigated. He was where he said he was. The phone on which the last photograph of William was taken has been analysed — the photo was taken “within an hour” of his disappearance. There is no evidence of any family dispute.

William’s wider family has been thoroughly investigated and interviewed, too. Their alibis have been declared sound — they were hundreds of kilometres away when William disappeared. Very few people knew the family had left Sydney to visit the area.

William’s father was called on a mobile phone. He raced home to help. Within 10-15 minutes, neighbours on the street were searching as well.

I still wonder if this call did occur ?

NEW evidence has emerged that two convicted paedophiles who are “persons of interest” in the case of missing four-year-old William Tyrrell may have met up on the day William went missing from a home on the mid-north coast.

The family of convicted paedophile Tony Jones say he told them on the day William vanished that he was going to visit convicted child abuser Paul Bickford, and that when Jones returned in the afternoon he was drunk.

The Daily Telegraph understands Bickford was driving a grey sedan at the time of William’s disappearance, and Jones was driving a white station wagon.

Police have said two vehicles matching those descriptions were spotted by William’s mother on the day the then three-year-old went missing from a home in Kendall, near Port Macquarie.

The white station wagon belonging to Jones was towed away days later by Strike Force Rosann detectives for forensic examination.

Days later ........ really!!!!
