Derek Nichols was definitely in Melbourne, Victoria. I did a lot of research on him quite a while ago. One of the papers I read about him was praising his music teachings within the Uniting Church in Victoria, and then in an offshoot of the Uniting Church. 'Helping' disadvantaged people who had arrived in Australia from other places. He moved around quite a bit, and I truly want to say that Ballarat was one of the places he lived. I think it was, but at the time I was interested in placing him in Campbelltown and Wellington (which I couldn't) so I focused on that. Of course, I didn't save the stuff so I can't go back and check. (I hate to save stuff about pedos ... bad juju ... I just want them gone from this world.)

Wow .... you got some good stuff there...Bohemian had some details she posted about him too awhile back....I think I need to find her post ...and along with your stuff and make a little file just for him .....labelled disgusting dirty old man...

ETA lol...just re read and saw your "bad juju" ..... very true...Ill place some garlic on top of the disgusting dirty old mans file I make...
just as a precaution....

I can't find my posts yet but I did find krig's, where it's mentioned that DN is an RCSO:

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...l-NSW-12-Sept-2014-19&p=12343851#post12343851

'The elderly man lived in the same town from which William disappeared in 2014, however, he said he was out of town at the time.

Mr Nichols said crimes in Victoria had seen him added to the child protection register. He said he was at Dunbogan when William Tyrrell went missing.'

I posted this on WS before, but according to a certain Genealogy website, a person by the name of DN (correct middle name and everything) was listed on the 1980 Electoral Roll as living in Monbulk, Victoria (in the Dandenong Ranges) - which is over 160 km ESE of Clarendon, and over 110km NE of Corio. Occupation listed as 'Teacher' (makes my stomach turn). The article at http://www.themercury.com.au/news/sc...3880618064b03d states "Between 1972 and 1992 he was a religion education specialist and school chaplain in the UK and Australia, the directory said."

The fact he and his wife were able to care for children is crazy isn't it! We really need more decent people willing to be foster carers in Australia.

Yes! Those children were old enough to be quizzed by LE and old enough to understand the questions. I doubt they were returned to MS.

And I agree with the caravan park theory and the crying child to possibly have been William but it was too late by the time it was reported . Spedding seems to like the idea of caravans.

We don't know when the first call was made about this child crying. The owner realised it was unusual enough to make the call.

The owner of the caravan park told Fairfax Media that a resident had called police after hearing a child crying in a cabin where a middle-aged couple from Victoria stayed from September 28 to October 9."They heard an infant crying and they thought it was coming from that cabin," the owner said."We don't have kids, [nor are there] many children in the park; they are all retired here, so it is an unusual sound," he said.

Nichols was first placed on Tasmania's Child Protection Register in 1985 for offences against an 11-year-old boy.
By 2007, he was living in Bairnsdale, Victoria, where he was convicted of possessing child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.
The pianist then moved to Camden, outside of Sydney, for a new role with his church before moving to Kendall last year, where he was again convicted of possessing child abuse material.

http://www.criminalcle.net.au/attachments/Stay_Paper__Russell_Sweet.pdf

This is a paper on criteria to be considered to be granted a permanent stay of a trial.

Thanks for that link Frogwell ...... well I dont think he should be granted a stay ... if the resons for allowing one are correct... even if tha accusations were levelled at him all those ...what was it 20 something years ago...doesn't matter in my books. That was the Mother of the children claiming it back then.....I think its reasonable for the children or the child to level her own accusation now as an Adult and have that be considered...

Lol just my 2 cents worth....

I had read that and my initial thought was Loss of evidence interview transcript i think.

Yes although there was a similar example in that paper where police did not have the original transcript but there was still the original child services report and the medical record therefore a stay was not granted. The paper seems to say, that there are five heads to be considered in granting a stay and the defendant would really need more than 1 main point to have a stay granted. MOO

This is quite possibly him too ...... I think they moved him around the place ALOT ... may just be a coinky ... but given he has prooven form... Sadly - after reading some of the report from the Royal Commision .... seems this is how they (churches responded)...just move em around the place ..... grrrr

I think soso is referring to the original police interview with BS in 1987 where the police did not pursue charges. There have been quotes from the police in news articles that they have looked extensively for it but can't locate it. MOO

Yes nothing makes much sense but it all seems significant somehow and we don't know when that call was made.

A resident had called the police after hearing a child crying in what they thought was that cabin where a middle aged couple from Victoria had stayed two weeks after William vanished.

they are all retired here the owner said.

Although Mr Spedding declined to comment, a close friend “had spoken on his behalf” and his comments defending Mr Spedding were prominently featured in the article. The publication also said the article was balanced and not limited to reporting on Mr Spedding as it had also reported another line of enquiry, the police search of a local caravan park.

Another line of enquiry....which lead to ????

just found this depressingly long list, there may be people here of relevance or not, but so many names, places and times to dig through

http://buaca.wikifoundry.com/page/The+Sicko+List

HOLY MOLEY .......just a litle bit of light reading.

Thanks...will bookmark that one.

Its so true though .... they get nabbed...names in paper...they then get a court order to supress.

And it should be law that if they are convicted they CAN'T change their names.....that one really peeves me off.

If you search DN - music - church - Uniting Church and/or DN - Tasmania - Victoria - England - NSW - WA? - etc. etc. you will find so much, there is no end to it. And all mixed up together. One single swamp. I give up already now. :pullhair:
