Remember the way the 'S' disappeared from the 'Spedos' on Spedding's van? As if some people in that area wanted to aggravate him and let others know he is accused of pedo activities?

It is possible, I think, that someone also threw the spiderman toy into his van - if he left it unlocked - because they wanted to say to him 'we know what you did'.

I guess it depends when the spiderman toy was discovered. Was it discovered during an immediate initial search of Spedding's vehicle (was there an immediate initial search? One would think so).

Or was it found in the later, more thorough, forensic examination?

They seized three vehicles, including a work van owned by the whitegoods repair man, computers, documents and a mattress.

I wondered about this too.

I picturing a scenario more along the lines of " hi love, yep I've got him, seems he is into spiderman, do you want to get him a toy to keep him quiet "
Something like that anyway.

I hadn't thought of that scenario Hybane. Makes a lot of sense though. More so than already having it in his car at the time of abduction. Also a sick reminder of recent interaction with William perhaps. God I hope not!

Now when this was found I really thought someone was playing silly buggers:

‘A builder has found an eerie message about missing toddler William Tyrrell painted on a tree hiding a mysterious cache of objects in a forest just 12km from where the three-year-old vanished 18 months ago.’

But who with? BS, someone else, the public or investigators?

Another interesting thing I noticed, The 'S' was removed from Spedding's van before he was arrested on the historical child sex crime charges. At least 1½ months prior to the arrest(s).

I wonder if there have been rumours or knowledge of other unsavoury activities by Spedding, prior to the historical charges.

Margaret had nothing to say about the historical charges arrest ... although she went on to try to influence a victim.

His wife, Margaret, told police “I’ve got nothing to say” before her husband left with the officers in an unmarked police car.

He was taken to the Port Macquarie Police Station where he was charged with five counts of sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 10 years, and two counts of common assault.

His outspoken son, Rodney, had nothing to say either.

Mr Spedding’s son Rodney, who has spoken out in support of his father, said yesterday he had “nothing to say” before hanging up.

Is all of this ‘bad luck’ the result of someone ‘trolling’ BS, covertly accusing him of alleged CSA, or perhaps, to garner public sympathy for him?

You know, it would be interesting to do a comparison of the items found/seized and reported in MSM as initially being suspected as being relevant to William’s abduction and those that have subsequently been reported as being found to be ‘not connected’. A potential evidence stocktake, if you will.

Unless WT had a spiderman toy with him at FGM's place for the visit there, then i think the SM toy is a moot point IMO. I think the general consensus at the time might have been BS used a SM toy to lure WT with?

william did have a spiderman toy at grandmas house, theres a photo of one lying on the porch where he was playing

This picture is perfect and I’ve never noticed this. Thanx SA.

IICR there was talk that a newspaper removed the ‘s’ well this proves otherwise because another letter is semi removed.

If I had a business and my work van was defaced like that I would fix it immediately, immediately but I’m in a city area.
But some have a different small town humour and would drive it laughing.
6 of one and 1/2 dozen of the other type scenario.

The couple carry his bag of favourite toys everywhere include the Spiderman doll

Thank you both x So not the same Spider-Man toy that was subsequently discovered in BS’ van then.

Don’t forget he repaired and replaced air conditioners as well.
He had to have another worker employed with the heavy work.

Reference to this event was made in the Press Council link I posted earlier.

The day William was abducted Spedding might not have had the work van. Ol’ Mags had bad knees/hips so she may not have been comfortable in the height of the van so they most likely took the family vehicle (the maroon 4x4) to go to the cafe and school. The part and a couple of tools is all you’d need.

Did they go to the cafe  and school  together? I think I remember reading that he went to his office 'for a while' before those events.

The unsuccessful Press Council ruling? Evidently could not prove that any journos did anything wrong.
