any why would tony be 'borrowing a council chain saw'? did he do part-time council work?
I wonder if he was planning to return it after he 'borrowed' it.

Supposition I think, also due to the Batar Creek Road search nearby. My feeling was that the parts of Stoney Creek Road we were looking at it were too close to be a 12-minute drive.

If it is pure supposition then we need to consider that Wauchope is only 22 minutes from 48 Benaroon therefore somewhere 1/2 way would be more likely given Jones was based in Wauchope

To this day I still find it hard to believe that it was planned to abduct one (or possibly two) children that were maybe coming for a visit to the GM and might play out the front of the house unsupervised. Are there no other children in Kendall? If it were a spur of the moment thing then there would not be two cars because that would involve planning. The only way I can see this happening is that the children were targeted for reasons other than sexual. Maybe some harebrained scheme of returning them to their family.

Yes; any ideas? I don't remember bushland like they were driving through from my map-scans to the north, but there may well be possibilities.

I think "borrowed" would be used very loosely in this context. I would imagine TJ has "borrowed" lots of things in the past.

Here's a screen shot of the distance from WT's if you take the longest route - through the forest, then to Stoney creek, to the large dumpsite - there could be more further on? Not sure a sedan could do the end of william's too quickly, but could do it. The road was gentler up stoney creek & in Middle Brother. Doesn't look like it would take 12 mins. Maybe somewhere further into the forest as PT suggested?

for the car disposal yes, & stats show he might have stopped somewhere closer to Kendall to be evil, then moved on... sorry, awful subject

Where exactly is the Council old quarry from fgm's?? That's where some are thinking it's dumped on SM.

Plus if TJ was a heavy drinker, he probably used Bush tracks regularly to not get caught for DUI. He probably knows tracks, nobody else knows from collecting his scrap

I would be going north. Pacific Highway to Bago Rd which is road to Wauchope. At the turnoff is a very large log mill too. 8kms north as the crow flies from 48 Benaroon.

There are two quarries in Middle Brother Forest, as well as the gravel pit. One of them is further down Stoney Creek Road. You can see the quarries (but not the gravel pit) marked on the park map on page 13 of this document. Middle Brother Forest is south of Benaroon Drive, travelling down Batar Creek Road. It's about 3km from Benaroon Drive to the start of Stoney Creek Road, and the gravel pit is about 2km in; the quarries, as I said, are further.

Maybe an important part fell off it and it broke down?
Ohhh, yes. There was talk, albeit a while ago, regarding a car part, wasn't there? I'm sorry, all I recall is chatter about a car part but cannot recall the specifics, ugh!

And

The family of convicted paedophile Tony Jones say he told them on the day William vanished that he was going to visit convicted child abuser Paul Bickford, and that when Jones returned in the afternoon he was drunk.

The alibi Jones has provided to police is that he was out in the bush collecting scrap metal.

:) New Idea
A woman Mr Jones was believed to be dating at the time of William's disappearance claimed she 'wouldn't be surprised' if it was his car.

Wife horrified at probe into estranged husband over William Tyrrell disappearance
2015
The estranged wife of a man named as a person of interest in the William Tyrrell investigation has described being questioned over the suspected abduction case as "beyond comprehension".

The woman, who has asked not to be named, found out in September last year that her husband Anthony Jones had been charged with indecently assaulting a child.

She kicked him out of the family home in Wauchope after learning of the shocking allegations.

TJ wasn't kicked out of the family home by then (September 2014). But he "was dating a woman"? Possible of course, but who would admit voluntarily?

when initial searches were under way it was mentioned people searching tracks were on the lookout for disposed stuff, car parts etc. just in case something fell of a getaway normal vehicle (not 4wd) on a rough track. that's all. nothing specific.

I noticed on the video where the ACA reporter was pointing out all the stuff dumped around that area too, old computers and other stuff as well. Like a rubbish dumping ground there.
Any washing machines?

"Superintendent Paul Fehon said the State Emergency Service's volunteers will walk the forest's trails as they search for part of a vehicle that may have become detached. "
Also mentions the possibility of something being 'thrown'

That's down toward the highway, a longer way, but possible to reach through bush tracks from stoney creek rd... thumbnail shows a straight line as the crow flies, they other shows the kind of route (very loosely) that a car would need to make, so half the distance & add a little - around 8-9km??
