William Tyrrell inquest to open in March

It isn't possible to conclude that missing NSW boy William Tyrrell is dead based on current evidence, a court has heard.

A directions hearing was held at Glebe Coroners Court on Wednesday, ahead of an inquest into the three-year-old's disappearance and suspected death.

"He’s been summoned to attend, so of course he is being represented," Mr O’Brien said when asked why Mr Spedding, who has always denied any involvement in William’s disappearance, had a solicitor.

Paul Savage, who lived across the road from the Benaroon Drive property from which William went missing, attended the court via conference call and told Deputy State Coroner Grahame that he was "still sorting out" his legal representation.
