Not really. Only what the relo or relo's have said.
It is understood Mr Spedding performed a separate repair job at a home in Dunbogan, roughly 14km from Kendall, about 2pm on the Friday William vanished.
According to a relative, the first time Mr Spedding had mentioned the baffling case was when he saw William’s grandmother’s home on television news reports and said “hey, I think I’ve been there”.
He was called back to Kendall to complete the repair in the week after William disappeared.
He told relatives he never planned, nor was booked, to be in Kendall on the day William vanished without trace.
He said he was “relieved” when he could not reach William’s grandmother by phone because he didn’t want to perform the repair over the weekend and wanted to take his children to their football game.
New twist in missing William case

How could toddler William Tyrrell simply vanish into thin air?
Four days before William went missing, Spedding had visited William’s grandmother in Benaroon Drive to repair her washing machine. He took away a part and was supposed to return the day that William disappeared, to fix the machine. But, he told his friend Colin Youngberry, he never went to Kendall that day and was with his wife in Laurieton attending a school function instead. Youngberry says Bill and Margaret Spedding had a coffee afterwards and that Bill’s bank records show he was in Laurieton at the time William disappeared.
BBM I thought the coffee was before the school assembly?
He never planned or was booked to go but he was glad he didn't have to go when he couldn't reach her ..................................![]()
He was due and expected to be there then no confirmation call was necessary. IMO.
"The same day (12 September), police sources say Mr Spedding had been due to return to that address with a part after giving a quote for repair work on September 9."

Thank you SA for these conflicting links.
AFTERWARDS?
Great pick up Dr.
We’ve never noticed that.
If the inconsistencies in MSM articles mirror those that were found with BS’ 10-page recorded interview with police, no wonder he’s been summoned to attend William’s inquest.
[1] Desperate hunt
I truly think that he had a convo with grandma when he was at her house initially "I'll order the part, it will only take a couple of days to arrive, then I will come back on Thursday arvo or Friday morning, before your family arrive".
In the police interview, foster mum said how grandma's washing was piling up when they arrived on Thursday, that is why she thought she would contact Spedding in the morning. Spedding hadn't come on Thursday, perhaps she wanted to make sure he came on Friday .. so she could blitz through grandma's washing for her over the weekend.
Foster mum said she left a message. What did that message say? "Hi this is X, you are scheduled to come and fix my mother's washing machine. Just want to make sure the part has arrived and that you are coming today. Please let me know."
Police will know what her message said, because even if he deleted it, voicemail messages are stored on the telco server.
When was his office searched and his computer seized?
IMO BS knew GM was recovering from an op and needed her washing machine fixed and family were arriving so why would he give preference to the Dunbogan job after the school.
My hinkey meter is again on overdrive, it’s not making sense.

Top investigator appointed in search for William Tyrrell
Top investigator appointed in search for William Tyrrell
I wonder if BS knew that before the public did?
I wish they had searched Spedding's properties so much earlier. I think there was a lag in attending to things like that. Maybe due to officers having local familiarity with Spedding or something. I don't know.
It is just odd how the massive searches were undertaken right before Jubes took over. Almost as if Jubes (or the thought of him) lit a fire under people's rear ends.
Detective Chief Inspector Jubelin, who has been on the case since the beginning, tells Chris “letting go” is “just not an option”.
Police scouring bushland in fresh William Tyrrell ‘forensic search’
Jubes said everything we do is planned and for a reason. (Something like that)
I like to think that he just might have been on the case from the beginning. Albeit quietly in the background.
Perhaps they contacted him when things weren't adding up with Spedding. Inconsistencies. Perhaps knowing/finding out that Jubes had been involved in old allegations involving Spedding, they reached out to him?
He may not have had any operational seniority in the case until he took over.
You mean they contacted Jubes back in December 2014 when that facs/local detectives investigation was taking place?
I wonder when BS became aware that the police thought his alibi was a lot ify?
Police allege that, since Spedding became aware they were making inquiries with him in relation to the disappearance of William Tyrrell, he had contacted people he knows in the hope of obtaining character references.

Bill Spedding, person of interest in disappearance of William Tyrrell, in court on child rape charges
This is an old copy of the school calendar which states the assembly commenced at 9.00am - from memory (because I don't have a copy) it was changed to 11.30am

Perhaps even before December. Remember the sex crimes squad was involved from very early .... was it within 10 days of William's disappearance?
Probably didn't take much for someone on the sex crimes squad to say "Spedding? Isn't he Hillsley's ex brother in law? Wasn't he accused of raping two little girls years ago? Yep, here it is in our private register."
