It’s more than likely, when the police were conducting their searches to also spook him? So he may have returned to a area to check if they were close? I’m sure the police were hoping the person responsible would...brazen regardless!! I’m inclined to think someone seen a vehicle very close to that area the day William disappeared or it’s the location of BS last phone ping or even where he made the call to the FM ?

Very possible.
It must have been something significant for them to momentarily ditch the Benaroon Drive search to rush over to that area to search, in full view of the media.

Did they search every neighbour's car with sniffer dogs? I ask because I don't recall that being mentioned.

I was looking for that very same info just the other night. I could only find that the dogs had searched grandma's property, and had scented for a trail away from the property, and had been taken on searches in the forests and surrounding land.

People mentioned the one, two, three physical searches of the neighbours homes and vehicles - but no mention of the dogs in those searches.

Exactly!
I think there is a reason he has been publicly named as having to attend.
If it turns out that he is just a witness that has been summoned to appear, maybe, just maybe that means that he actually does know something, maybe he’s innocent of the crime of actually taking William, but what if it turns out he is the someone who knows something & he has not come forward all this time?
If it brings William home, does it matter who’s feet get a little stepped on?
I was under the impression he PS wanted to be involved . But after listening to the above channel 10 mews report the journalist or presenter ( think it was Sandra Sully who k owns her stuff ) kept saying he’s been compelled to appear. Sorry for typos, I can’t seem to fix them.

Paul savage either knows spedding or he doesn’t.. he couldn’t give a definitive answer.

Being compelled to appear just means that he has received a summons stating that he is required to be at the inquest.

They will require him to be there for any information that he has to offer. Issuing a summons just makes sure that he shows up on the day, and doesn't decide that he is too tired or doesn't feel like going for whatever reason.

Unlike Spedding, who has been summoned to appear and is a primary POI, Mr Savage could have been summoned for entirely different reasons ... in the same manner that FACS may have been summoned, and other people/entities that are required to supply information.

Thankyou SA, I’m not really legally minded nor do I understand a lot of the court system In Laymen’s terms I was under the impression that he wanted to give evidence , probably my reading into it wrong. When I heard the report saying he was compelled to appear I got confused

No worries.
Sometimes it is hard to separate the sensationalism by the media from what these things actually mean.

Sorry I’ve been very vocal today. You all must be sick of my posts ! I certainly don’t want to lay any blame on PS and I hope he isnt involved purely from what he may have witnessed that dreadful day but I like to keep an open mind as I’m sure you all here do aswell

Never sick of your posts, tbl. We are all maintaining a high interest in any developments that surround the disappearance of William.

@ 1:33 PS is shown enjoying an outside cuppa so could he and his wife been sitting outside and heard the children or maybe didn’t hear a thing.
Maybe Mrs S drove out and didn’t see a thing considering Jubes believes he was down near the corner.
I’m interested if Mrs S made a statement and would it stand up now she’s passed.

SA, I was following the case of Chris Watts who murdered his pregnant wife and two children, what I thought interesting is the cops took several types of dogs through the house and one was a dog who could detect trauma.
The visual documentation of that case was mind blowing.

The dogs are amazing.
Ground sniffers, air sniffers, cadaver dogs, herding dogs, drug dogs, explosives dogs, rescue dogs, apprehension and attack dogs ..... and now trauma dogs.
Simply wonderful. Man's (and woman's and child's) best friend.

(That Chris Watts case is heartbreaking. But the police methodology is fascinating!)

Couldn't or wouldn't give a definitive answer.
Well I am sure BS will know if PS has met him and where.

imo i wonder if he saw the cars and who was in them
You mean he might be the ‘someone [who] knows something’ and has been concealing a serious crime for nearly four and a half years?

  • #359
Also I see the daily mail and ACA have stated PS is not a POI etc. would they know that for sure ? For all we know he could be one of those 5, until police say one way or the other

IMO the media are at pains to state PS is not a suspect/ POI or anything other than an invited attendee to the inquest. ... not keen on defamation or other claims I'd suggest ..

I'm reading this as some knew him and his sister. How are you reading this quote?
Anyone remember the article about a Christmas (street) party?

"Very few people around here knew him and his sister, not many of us, just two little kids visiting," Mr Savage told news.com.au.

The day William Tyrrell vanished

My take on this statement is that 'SOME' people around there did know the children - and PS did because he's of that level if importance ?!?
....but perhaps more fairly & correctly is it to say that he lived across the road, perhaps they had neighbourly get-togethers etc. at festive times when the children may' ve been visiting, hence the knowledge. (but not many other people knew them - not in the right circles ?) ... all said IMOO
