I have great respect for our police and the job they do. I actually have family members who are police officers. Let's not forget that there are a whole team investigating William's disappearance. We also need to remember that an act like Jubelin has been accused of can cause a case to be thrown out of court and a criminal go free.

I guess that depends on whether it was actually the criminal that is responsible for William's disappearance.

Oh no! Our hero, Jubelin is in trouble now!

Well pretty damned serious allegations that currently indicate he was stepping far beyond his duty. Far beyond what is lawful. Willing to do anything 'to get his man'. Shameful actions if the allegations are proven. The ruin of his career. Previous convictions will now be looked at. Absolutely shameful. Allegations such as these raised at such a critical time in the investigation and upcoming Coroners Inquest really cast doubt on all of his processes. Very very disappointed. Now he cannot control anything. No more contact with the foster family. Imagine how they are feeling today.

What a bl00dy mess! How ridiculous. Sounds like payback for a grudge to me.. very cranky.

It sounds to me like all of Jubelin's actions have been looked at thoroughly to leave no future avenue for a mistrial. If allegations are proven his actions are shameful and dishonour the NSW police service. Stupid actions recording on a mobile phone because the trace could never be deleted. These allegations and raising of such at this critical time shows he was being monitored.

I always thought the hero worship of Jubelin was a bit OTT. He's only human. Humans make mistakes. He's not a robot, he doesn't have superpowers.

I'm sure he's done tons of good work on this case. I'm also sure he's capable of screwing up too, just like everyone is.

And as far as being "willing to do what it takes", you have to do so within the confines of the law. End of story. Doesn't matter who you are, or what kind of reputation you have. Cases get thrown out when evidence isn't obtained properly. He had to know he was playing with fire (if what he is accused of is true).

There is an opinion piece in todays Daily telegraph. It is paywalled but this is the intro...

"If DCI Jubelin crossed a line chasing the truth behind WT's disappearance it cannot be condoned, but few would argue his motivation was anything other than to finally achieve justice for the little boy."

I have some questions. At different stages of the investigation, differet people were in charge. Would each of those people attend the inquiry to give a summary of what they oversaw of the investigation or will the current leader of the strikeforce give a summary of what previous leaders did? Surely GJ will be at the coronial inquest, even if being investigated? If not, I can't help but wonder, who's best interest does that actually serve?

There is currently no information the serious allegations regarding Jubelin's alleged actions are directly connected to the William Tyrrell case.

Just because the NSW Police Commissioner informed the Coroner and senior counsel in charge of the upcoming inquest doesn't mean the allegations are connected.

All cases Jubelin was currently head of will be affected. Cases pending trial may be affected. Cases finalized through to conviction may be affected.

The investigation into the alleged actions by Jubelin are regarding his work as a detective inspector and include his treatment of staff. He was in control of many staff in many different task forces.

Yes he is fallible and if all the allegations are proven his reputation will be in tatters.

Seems he may have over stepped the mark to uphold his hero status and reputation. All ego driven.

The total investigation brief was prepared by Jubelin and provided to the Coroner in charge of upcoming inquest. It is up to the Coroner and supporting senior legal counsel, to determine who is called to testify. They are able to seek clarification from anyone prior to inquest.

It’s understood Det Insp Jubelin is being interviewed by the Professional Standards Command over his conduct on Strike Force Rosann which was set up to investigate the three-year-old’s disappearance.

Top cop taken off William Tyrrell case

Detective Jubelin has told the ABC he "strongly denies" any wrongdoing and will continue to work in the homicide squad for the duration of the investigation.

Top cop in William Tyrell investigation faces internal probe

Sounds more like jealousy or a personal vendetta to me.

For a detective inspector to do any actions that could be described according to the allegations is bewildering. How could fellow team members and the community trust his actions in further investigations would not harm another case or force a trial abandonment or retrial.

Any talk saying its ok for any police officer to break the law is mindless dribble.

It is not ok for any officer 'to do shady stuff' once let alone all the time.

So far it hasn't been proved he's done anything, he is under investigation.

The Professional standards board have to investigate each and every complaint, not every one of those complaints is justified or the person found guilty. The complaint against him has hit the headlines because of who he is. I might also add it seems it has been leaked to the press. Someone is trying to ruin his reputation IMO.

I think your ongoing derogatory comments are a bit premature.

Its hit the headlines due to NSW Police Commissioner's media release. That is fact.

If there wasn't very strong evidence if the allegations I doubt there would have been a statement issued.

It really casts doubt on a lot of processes. Including who pushed certain individuals to the forefront of media attention.

He plays the media like his puppets.

I don't think it is a leak. I'm not sure why the police would just inform the press of this information through their own initiative though. I think journalists are communicating with the coroner's court around WT's upcoming inquiry and may have got wind that the coroner has been informed that GJ is under internal investigation. Then I think journos have asked the police for an official comment to confirm.

The small article a few months ago about a fight between GJ and another D? seemed like a leak to me, seemed so random as to wonder, what is coming next? IMO
