It’s understood Det Insp Jubelin is being interviewed by the Professional Standards Command over his conduct on Strike Force Rosann which was set up to investigate the three-year-old’s disappearance.

Top cop taken off William Tyrrell case

Detective Jubelin has told the ABC he "strongly denies" any wrongdoing and will continue to work in the homicide squad for the duration of the investigation.

Top cop in William Tyrell investigation faces internal probe

Sounds more like jealousy or a personal vendetta to me.
Listening to 2GB this morning, Ray Hadley gave his opinion. Paraphrasing: Gary J superiors not happy with his level of publicity. GJ had a “blew” with officer in Strikeforce. That officer now on sick leave. Apparently senior officers don’t like the media profile GJ has and GJ has been sidelined since this blow up. Approx 14.35 mins into pod.

That explains why some articles say there are 30 on the strike force and some say 26. Maybe there are 4 on sick leave.

Was watching this evenings NBN news - google Gary Jubelin NBN.

Jubes really does deserve a rest as well.

The inquest kicks off with the one week starting 25 March. I am sure the investigation into Jubes will be done and dusty by August when/if they meet again.
Anyways he will be busy at the special leave application to have the case heard in the High Court on 22 March seeking justice for Clinton, Colleen and Evelyn. How many days will that be? I am expecting he will be at Williams inquest, if only as an interested observer.

NC has moved north.

Natalie Norris did not mince her words when asked what she thought about Detective Chief Inspector Gary Jubelin being stood down from the investigation into William's disappearance, amid allegations of misconduct.

'He makes me so angry', Ms Norris said on Friday from her home on the NSW mid north coast.

There is currently no information the serious allegations regarding Jubelin's alleged actions are directly connected to the William Tyrrell case.

Just because the NSW Police Commissioner informed the Coroner and senior counsel in charge of the upcoming inquest doesn't mean the allegations are connected.

All cases Jubelin was currently head of will be affected. Cases pending trial may be affected. Cases finalized through to conviction may be affected.

The investigation into the alleged actions by Jubelin are regarding his work as a detective inspector and include his treatment of staff. He was in control of many staff in many different task forces.

Yes he is fallible and if all the allegations are proven his reputation will be in tatters.

Seems he may have over stepped the mark to uphold his hero status and reputation. All ego driven.

Hi PaperTrail - I'm personally pretty sure it was in regards to William's case (convinced I heard Task Force Roseanne)

I also think your blanket statement of being 'All ego driven' is presumptive & noting it as a personal feeling would have been more appropriate.

So in that spirit, I'm sharing my own thoughts ...

I think it's quite feasible that Det Jubelin will have ruffled feathered. I see him as a committed, caring & determined person, who puts in 100% for the solving of crimes & the return of justice.
It's not hard to get a sense of frustration, impatience & expectations being put upon members of staff who may not have the same level of committment.
( they put in a complaint, upper level so scared of the hoo hoo they might get caught up in that they keep the hoo hoo surviving by condoning a slack assed employee & putting a wholesome & determined manager on report!)

As I said this is my opinion - as a society we live these days, at all levels, in a state of fear. Fear for our jobs, our security, our safety etc. we've sadly become self-focused & self absorbed .. so we f /up things in the name of 'self preservation'. IMO that's a sad indictment of who we are & what we've allowed our civilisation to become.

In days gone by, if someone murdered another, they would have been lynched in the town centre, eyeball to eyeball with all those betrayed.

Today we protect our perpretators at every level, in the way they can be investigated & the way they're treated after the guilty verdict. .

F...k/ up ? Or what. ... My cudos goes to those committed to solving our crimes & making them pay. My frustration goes to the stupid laws that make idiots out of the Good, and Heros out of the Scum...

Thanks all who've stuck with my download ! Hope I can wake up tomorrow to a much better world

Has Mrs. Collins been called Mrs. Norris for a long time and I didn't know or forget about?

Aahh .. can you just STFU please Natalie!
If you had something useful to say re little William, why didn't you reach out / walk into any police station & ask to speak to Det Jubelin / members of the Task Force. ... instead of all your 'oh, why haven't they talked to me' ...

IMO, a child, in this case William, needs those invested in him & his journey, not those invested in their own self-worth, self-promotion or self-pity.
Please God, bless this little boy, and provide answers for his family.

Would an external 'anonymous complaint' be taken seriously? I lean more towards this being a complaint from within.

This is Jubes - he wouldn't jeopardise a conviction.

Thinking similarly Blues - I had 2 thoughts when I heard the news :
* Wonder who's freaking out about the possibility it may've been them who was recorded

* Wonder who knows they were recorded & has pulled out all stops in an attempt to prevent the contained information being detrimental to them .....

IMO there's only one reason why this has become such a big deal, and that's because it's tread on someone's toes. .. .. Remembering that 'toes' are given to any number of shapes, sizes, fits, blisters, corns etc. !

Well said.
I assume Ms Norris is expecting Det Chief Inspector David Laidlaw to knock on her Mid North Coast home for a catch up and chat now that Jubes has been sidelined.:rolleyes:o_O

It seems to me like there were issues involving members of the SFR team, and that it is more likely that the complaint came from within the police service itself, rather than from a suspect/POI/witness in the case. jmo.

Det Insp Jubelin was expected to be the public face of NSW Police when the long-awaited coronial inquest into William's disappearance begins on March 25.

But police command has now put their "most senior homicide" investigator in charge - Detective Chief Inspector David Laidlaw.
....
He's facing allegations relating to staff management and using a mobile phone without a warrant to record someone, AAP understands.
....
Det Insp Jubelin was not just in charge of the strike force but also the 15,000 pieces of evidence amassed by the investigation.

Mr Smith said Det Insp Jubelin's welfare was important but so to was the work of the strike force.

"There were 30 people who worked on this job and I also need to worry about the welfare of those people," the assistant commissioner said.

My feeling is that Det Insp Jubelin is great at his job, amazing with families of crime victims but no so great at the playing of internal politics of the police force. My guess is that there was some serious internal conflict around how the investigation was being run and Jubelin was told changes needed to be made, he lost it and was overly confrontational with other team members and possibly decided to do things his way despite orders to the contrary and is now under investigation.

BBM--I haven't read that. Recording without a warrant might be harrassment of a fellow officer and nothing to do with evidence.
Yes true...but I wonder possibly the mere fact that this ‘ recording’ has caused so much ado, then perhaps it could be relevant? Hard to know ...

He might BC, to get closer to the truth, I wouldn’t put it past him. A rule breaker for good reasons?

Well I’m totally gutted if Jubelin has been taken off the case. No one wanted to solve this case more than him and i dont believe anyone else can solve it.
I bet if you asked the foster parents they would want him to stay.
I imagine there are 5 POI s tonight celebrating that he will no longer be on their tails.
It just makes no sense to do it now.
I’d like to agree kiwi - he’s a wonderful cop, but we have many of those. & hopefully they can fill his mighty shoes - I have faith in other detectives too.... Let’s just hope Jubelin has recordered something that can help find William..

Here’s the reason Bo. Me me me me me.
I won’t comment further on Ms Royal Caribbean.

Ms Norris said she has never met Detective Jubelin, nor has she ever spoken to him, which she claims has added to her 'torment' during the time William has been missing.

'I know he speaks to the foster parents all the time and he keeps them informed with the investigation. But he's my grandson and I get told nothing.'
Not the first time she has complained about not getting enough attention regarding this case. No doubt Jubelin worked out a long time ago she had nothing important to offer.
Is Norris her maiden name I wonder?
Mid North Coast....I wonder if she has lived there long or lived there previously?
