I don’t think we should just assume it was a “land cruiser “ .... the older box ones take quite a while to get up to speed.... they are fairly slow from take off.... unless it was the newer V8 version????
That has been my experience driving them ....
there are loads of other make and models of boxy 4WD’s out there... just thinking we should keep an open mind re the make of the cars??

Mr Chapman believes it was an older, box type Land Cruiser ... listen to the words he is saying in the video embedded in this tweet.

Hi Everyone!
I can now post and not just lurk about reading you all :)
So glad to have finally joined you.
Just wondering, I believe a POI was once discussed as having lived behind a child care centre at some point. Is this the same one that is quite close to the sighting on Laurel st?
Just doing some map snooping!

He does say it was a Land Cruiser. But I guess it depends how good he is with identifying cars. I know some people refer to all 4wd’s as “Jeeps” .

You know I’ve thought about this whether immunity should be granted to someone who knows what happened to William but they didn’t personally harm him. It is a tough one I hope William’s loved ones would get a say in this decision if it were ever to happen.
I think that was offered already in the terms of the reward.

As the immunity was mentioned as inclusive in the $1,000,000 reward for information leading to the finding of William, I feel that the family may already have been consulted about the terms, prior to that offer.

The family of Matthew Leveson was consulted prior to his alleged killer being offered immunity from prosecution (for all of his lies at the inquest) for the recovery of Matthew. Jubes was highly instrumental in that deal, as well.

Laurel St being near the centre of Kendall, anywhere in Kendall is quite close. I think the child care centre in question is the other side of the railway, but yes, it isn't far. I'm not sure whether DN was living in Kendall or in Dunbogan in September 2014 though.

Sorry! Teething troubles.
Not quite sure what I did :D
Thank you for replying.
Yes, I wasn’t sure where he was living at the time either.
Just thought it was somewhat close.

Has anyone watched this yet?
Highlight of the inquest for me being able to watch Jubelin for 40 mins!
What stood out for me was that Spedding “knew” so much more about the Assembly than MS.

Margaret was very vague on a lot of things, could be a good tactic, would make it look like she couldnt possibly have filled BS on in anything if she couldnt remember much!
Lol he remembered where they sat but she didn't
Loved some of the questions the detectives asked BS.

Surprised how few people were at the assembly. Hard to miss someone that day.
It is very odd that MS was so vague.. they surely would have discussed what happened during the assembly that day knowing they were both going to do a walkthrough. It seemed very deliberate forgetfulness.

I would also like to know if the Three Little Pigs play did take place that day. BS really was vague on the details about props, costumes etc which makes me suspicious given he seemed to remember other things in detail.

So, Spedding usually/always took photos at the assemblies. "They'd be on his phone". Were they?

ETA: Oh, I just saw your comment. soso. I am not up to that part yet, and I had never heard ole Col say that Spedding had 'a photo'.
He took an out of focus photo. Det King mentioned the timestamp and he was no longer sure.

I wonder if police ever looked at that photo ... tested it to see the time it was taken? You would think they would have, or that Spedding would have offered up his phone and showed them the photo.

Margaret seemed very vague about everything. Seems as if she was almost obstructive. With her sighing and other noises. She couldn't remember what she ate at the cafe that day, yet Spedding had the descriptive receipt in his hot hand - according to ole Col.
Spedding was much more direct in his answers.

Very direct. Except about the photo's and who was there. The shock set in when they took BS away the first time. I wonder if he was asked to detail the assembly the first time he was taken away. People he named did not recall seeing him.

Everybody seemed very vague about the assembly. Even the two witnesses that took the inquest stand. Yet Spedding said the (parent) numbers were down on that day, parents just scattered among the (inside) seats that were there.

I know the walkthrough was some months later, but apparently both Spedding and his wife were interviewed one week after William went missing. One would think their recall would have been much stronger at that point.

I wonder if the walkthrough and the interview details were the same. And I wonder if Hallelujah was sung at more than one assembly. "They started with the school song, they sang Hallelujah .... "

Especially given the significance of the 12th September and the shock of BS being taken away. MS said they started with the National Anthem.

I think he is a day late and a dollar short to get the reward now.
I would be pissed off if he got a reward. If anything, he should be fined for not reporting that sighting immediately and to the right people.

Going to a social club and 'mentioning' the sighting, to an officer's sister in law is a pathetic attempt to save a vulnerable child's life. JMO

Were they even at the same assembly?

He said they sat inside. She said they (probably) sat outside.
He said they started with the school song. She said they started with the anthem.
He said they did a spoof on the Three Little Pigs. She said they sang songs and stuff.
He said the grandson sat on the left of their position, then he went to the right of their position and showed where the grandson sat. She said the grandson could have sat on the right or the left that day.

If

The sighting of William in the car is real what involvement “”could” BS have in it? If he tipped someone off there’d be phone records?

I’m thinking someone who knows of William in some way has taken him. The location is too remote and random for weirdo child abductors to be lurking on the off chance there is a kid around without a parent....
