On Tuesday, August 20 former journalist and Laurieton resident Gordon Wiegold was also questioned by Mr Craddock about attending assemblies at Laurieton Public School.
Mr Wiegold said he remembered being at an assembly where Hallelujah was sung. He also remembered Mr Spedding being at an assembly.
However, Mr Wiegold could not confirm to Mr Craddock if the assembly where the song was sung and when Mr Spedding was present was the same assembly.

Sawmill combed by police as William Tyrrell inquest continues
Ok so i did see it

Col said two things to the media that stood out to me (referenced in my previous post).

1. Spedding tried to call FGM in the morning as the part was in and he wanted to make an appointment (presumably before the weekend as he knew FGM had expected visitors, and Spedding had stated that he wanted the weekend off due to kids footy).
O'Brien said at the inquest that the second part came in that Friday arvo. What 2nd part? Was that part meant for FGM or was it a part required for Spedding's Dunbogan arvo job or another job?

2. A family friend also attended the assembly with the Speddings. No mention of that by O'Brien .. a family friend who may have been able to confirm Spedding's attendance. A family friend who also may have had coffee and cake with Margaret prior to the assembly, for all the police knew.

I am in no way insinuating that Col was telling untruths. I feel more that O'Brien was presenting things as he wanted to present them, to make Spedding's alibi seem more solid than it actually is.

I also feel that Col thought he was doing the best thing he could for Spedding by speaking with the media. Turns out it sent the media into producing many publications repeating Col's words .. which may have been Col's intent, but it is not fair to blame the police for the media hype. imo
Does he do this work pro bono ?
Does he do this work pro bono ?

Maybe not worth buying new one if she was going to live in Sydney with FPs

no thats true, but i thought she was moving to her own place as well as having a place with fcs? it doesnt matter anyway, just thinking, hindsight, how that may have changed the events of that day

sorry if this has been mentioned? I cant remember if BS took photos the day at the assembly? or was it his "friends" phone who was dropped in the toilet? that had photos apparently ? You think if the assemblies were such a big deal for the couple, and they went all the time? they would take lots of photos, if a grandchild was getting an award?

Off topic. This new business of embedded video media is driving me crazy! Any ideas how to get rid of it? I have *********** but unfortunately it’s not an ad.

Is there a way to turn off video autoplay?

During his walkthrough Spedding was asked about photos, and he said he took a photo but it was blurry.

Presumably, as the police confiscated his phone, the photo would have been checked for time-date stamp. Perhaps the time-date didn't line up? Because it apparently didn't clear him.

Also

abt -14:32 MS said that BS probably took photos. But she had not seen them.

It was months before his phone was taken, wasn't it?

Thank you both. I couldn’t remember. Yes police definitely would’ve of checked time stamp. The fact he was still a high profile Poi means it definitely didn’t collaborate what he said.
I also found it interesting in the 4 corners episode
When Bs was talking about the assembly
He stumbled when it come to part where he was sitting. With him correcting himself saying we just picked a seat. Making sure to not specify whether it was in side or outside.

O/T

For anyone not aware , the nsw mid north coast is currently on fire :(

Firefighters are in "unchartered territory" with a record number of fires burning at emergency level across NSW this afternoon with conditions set to worsen.

There were dozens of other assemblies by the time police decided to check any evidence regarding BS having being at a "particular" assembly.
By then people would of had difficulty remembering which assembly and who in particular was there.
The assembly where a grandson received an award is my understanding of that being the assembly in question?
The witness Mr. Wiegold remembered it was the child (pseudonym) Ben who received the award that day, and was the same assembly he saw BS & Ben at.
So then you have to question if that was the only assembly Ben received an award at, or did Ben receive other awards at different assemblies?
If only that one, then that is proof BS was there as per the witness, IMO.
Hopefully police could at least find out that information about the child Ben receiving only one award or however many others and as to when exactly he received previous ones if that was the case.

abt 29:50
GJ - "Do you agree you were spoken to by police about a week after that assembly?"
BS - " Could have been, yeah"
GJ - So that assembly had significance to you. Given that the police were making inquiries about your activities that morning?"
BS - "Again we couldn't remember really. We didn't come here to socialise we came here to watch the presentationand went on with the rest of our day."

I don't think so. In the Four Corners report Spedding said that he had to use Col's phone to call the police (about the cafe transaction on their bank statement) because the police had confiscated his phone.

Oh, after looking at the Four Corners report (22:19 mark) it is not clear when they confiscated his phone. He didn't have it after the January interview with Moynihan - but he doesn't say when they took it.
I guess he waited until 21st January to supply the police with the cafe transaction.

BS said in the 4 corners interview abt 9:45. That in the initial interview about a week later. The police asked for and he gave permission for download of his smart phone.

It was taken from him on the 20 Jan 2015 when he was dropped of at CY. imo

So they had the contents of his phone from a week after William disappeared.
Then they definitely would have checked out the blurry photo early on. imo
And then they still went on to conduct all of those searches in January.

Did they know about coffee and eats at the Buzz with MS before 20 Jan 2015?
