I'd also like to know if the footage, which I believe was from a phone, of BS at the footy presentation at the time the van drove into the bush was forensically tested to be true. Nothing of that was stated at the inquest to my knowledge.
I sounds really ridiculous and unlikely and coincidental.. but in reality, what were the pics going to prove anyway? Only POSSIBLY that Spedding was there, but.. what really are the chances that this person with the camera would have shot a photo of BILL. I mean the focus was on the kids, the awards, and this person's OWN kids and family, not on BS, nor any other parents in attendance surely? Secondly, as ridiculous as it sounds coming from MS, it's possible that that IS what she was told by this person who took the photos. And if the person who took photos had not dropped their phone down the toilet.

A whole hour was just a joke. I feel so out of the loop. Did PS say he left the assembly early in the four corners report? Did he leave with his wife? Did I get that confused? After watching four corners and spending a whole hour looking at info, I would suggest RD. Looking at the history of PS & FA, one might suggest the sex of the people who were their victims does not the victim profile of WT, whereas RD, involved in the search, sleeping in the van near the location, previous history of sexual assault on young males, refuses to talk to police, SES officer. This fits.
plus the phone may have had sensitive or embarrassing photos and the person may have been afraid it may have been confiscated by police? easier to not get involved and say it fell in the toiletI sounds really ridiculous and unlikely and coincidental.. but in reality, what were the pics going to prove anyway? Perhaps the person felt awkward that there were no photos taken showing BS's attendance, so she simply told MS that.. I wonder if police got her statement. Also, from the sounds of it, this stuff wasn't checked up on until months later, so the possibility of a phone being somehow demolished during those months is much more reasonable sounding, than if the person had been asked for it right away and told people she'd dropped in in the loo.
I doubt if they would need to forensically examine the phone or camera, since there appeared to be many people in attendance who could likely vouch for him having been there, and they could have also likely confirmed the photo was taken at x event which took place on x date at x time. There would be documentation from the facility regarding the date and time this event took place as well?I'd also like to know if the footage, which I believe was from a phone, of BS at the footy presentation at the time the van drove into the bush was forensically tested to be true. It seemed that people remembered clearly about the things that stood out, which was the Hallelujah song being song that time, because it seems to have invoked a lot of emotion from the parents in attendance. They seemed to all remember that it was that same assembly, and that kids (at least some of those whose kids also received one) received awards at same one.I agree to a point, but it would have been helpful if there was a confirmation from a School official that that particular song was only sung at that one assembly, and not just 2 people that don't really remember clearly.

I got the impression Hallelujah was only sung at this assembly.
BBM, Yes i would think so too.It seemed that people remembered clearly about the things that stood out, which was the Hallelujah song being song that time, because it seems to have invoked a lot of emotion from the parents in attendance. Our WS member who attended the Inquest got the impression after listening to the testimony that the song was only sung at that one. I think it would have been mentioned if the song had been sung at many or more than one.. surely it would have come out that, 'but Hallelujah was played at several assemblies', or whatever. imo.

I can imagine that some may have mentioned it to the person sitting next to them or whatever - but it seemed to me like it was more of a visual recognition that BS had, when he saw it on the news and it showed the street/house or whatever it had shown - that seemed to be when he was saying it clicked in that he may have been there, whereas just hearing 'Kendall' may not have 'registered' anything with him at the time? That was Saturday the 13th, wasn't it?
Did BS say he saw it on the Saturday evening news and recognised the street as being the one he could have been in days before and had asked directions to? I am gobsmacked that no one at the presentation mentioned/discussed the massive search for the little missing boy from Benaroon Drive Kendall.

Wow! Sure are some inconsistencies, SA.PS is Paul Savage - I think you mean BS which is Spedding.
Apparently, Spedding sat inside with Margaret, while Margaret sat outside with Spedding. Then, according to Margaret, they stood quite spaced apart afterwards while the children were coming out (so if a photo was taken at that time - perhaps by the family friend, and maybe with the child who received an award - Margaret and Spedding likely wouldn't be in the photo together. imo)
Margaret apparently drove herself to the assembly, although she says she had difficulty walking due to a bad hip. I am not sure where their friend comes into it, although another friend (presumably Col) said they attended the assembly with a family friend - which was not mentioned in the confusing walkthroughs.
The things we heard at the inquest were quite different, at times, to what we had heard from Col early on.
A friend told Daily Mail Australia that Mr Spedding went to his Laurieton office on Bold St on the morning of September 12.
He had received a part needed to fix William's grandmother's washing machine, after attending the Kendall home three days earlier for a quote, and attempted to ring her to make an appointment.
He told Daily Mail Australia Mr Spedding said he had also attended the presentation with a family friend who was taking photos.
Mr Spedding has asked her to review her pictures to see if he is in any of them, the friend said. On September 12, following the presentation, Mr Spedding went to a job in nearby Dunbogan before ringing William's grandmother again.

So, not possible it was his van but not him driving it? I wonder if that was ever asked. Dean Pollard was 100% sure originally.I doubt if they would need to forensically examine the phone or camera, since there appeared to be many people in attendance who could likely vouch for him having been there, and they could have also likely confirmed the photo was taken at x event which took place on x date at x time. I got from what was reported during Inquest, that all of this was a moot point, regardless, since the van seen by the neighbour ended up not being possible to have been BS's van anyway, since it had no markings. At least that is the impression I got from Craddock's words.
Mr Pollard was shown an image of the van owned by Mr Spedding in 2014. The van had writing on the front of it.
"You said the van you saw coming out of the bush, that you thought was Bill Spedding's van, didn't have writing on the front," Mr Craddock said to Mr Pollard.
"Correct," Mr Pollard said.
"Then it couldn't have been Bill Spedding's van coming out of the bush," Mr Craddock said.
