Savage has been and gone … We are up to Dukes now ….

Thankyou and such brief testimony I now see. He had no idea he was being recorded. And what was Cuneen thinking when she asked him because Jubelin was a senior detective if Mr Savage had assumed he would be recorded. What the ..... The old adage comes to mind. Never speak with a detective with legal representative present.... ever!

Indeed.
Just as GJ said the police were aware of the recordings.
The first was obviously put on the database back in Novemeber 2017. So fearful was Gattyot that he took Jubes phone and wrote a synopses. A brief overview of the what, when, why, who and how.

Jubelin had requested Gallyot to write the 'synopsis'. Gallyot did not 'take' Jubelin's phone. Jubelin gave him his phone and demanded he do the recording, then demanded he prepare the synopsis. I once held Jubelin in high regard but that regard how now slipped way too low for comfort I am sorry to say.

William has been forgotten in this debacle. It's not about the showy detective. Its not about what POIs there are or were. Its about William.

Maybe Gallyot should have stood up for himself.......

Detective Inspector Darrin Bachelor has now taken the stand, he’s an officer with the Professional Standards Command and interviewed Jubelin about the allegations against him. Those interviews will be played to the court.

Det Insp Bachelor told the court they had a search warrant for Jubelin’s mobile phone. They obtained the recordings from the phone before returning it to him.

BBM: He didn't delete or try & hide the recordings I guess :) & the cops got a warrant :D

The court is now being played the recorded interview with Jubelin and his lawyer. However the court’s recording device has malfunctioned. Cunneen quipped “it’s a common problem, your honour”.

To be fair to Gallyot, I don't think it is that easy to stand up for yourself in a command and control structure like Police have.
Maybe Gallyot should have stood up for himself.......

BBM : There sure is Tgy.

From memory ,I don't think the coroner agreed or disagreed with what GJ asserted ?

Det Laura Beacroft did disagree thou..............

DOC I searched for the pic of PS holding up the Beneroon street sign & looking up the street & it’s gone

Might not be easy, but it's part of his job as a Police Officer.

It most certainly is about William and bringing him home.
Sorry, I meant when GJ handed Gallyot his phone and Gallyot took it. He set about doing what ever it was he claims Jubes demanded he do as well as up loading a couple of recording to the database from a phone that was not his.

Sometimes people also hit the record button by mistake :D

Always bound to have something go wrong in courts with technology, I've seen it happen so many times that I'm surprised when it all goes smoothly!! Frustrates judges & magistrates no end :D

Yep, hard to do, but if you don't stand up for yourself , you are bound to be stood over :(

The video is being played again. Jubelin is telling the officers about his lengthy career background, from when he joined the police force in 1985.

Totally agree Ms Kite.... and many careers have been totally wrecked over similar issues....

The thing is that someone clearly did "stand up for themselves" and reported the alleged misconduct and look where we are now...... That's what I meant about it not being easy.

I agree with what you are saying though Dr.

Jubelin tells officers there was “some disharmony” within the William Tyrrell strike force because it had gone on for so long and people felt their careers had been put on hold. He also said they had been “under-resourced”.

Jubelin tells officers he “wasn’t particularly happy with how the investigation was run in the first five months” before he took over. He said he had concerns about the focus being on Bill Spedding.
