I actually consider the Mr Savage 'waiting' a far stretch. The female postie is allegedly the only person, other than the foster father and the other female neighbour, who drove into Benaroon Drive and the other vehicle the foster mother said she observed. According to Beacroft she believes William vanished at around 10.05. Why are we not told what time the postie did enter and exit Benaroon Drive? Was the driver of the vehicle the foster mother said she observed, related or connected to the postie in any way? Was that male driver standing in for the female postie, given she alleged that Mr Savage had violated conditions of the AVO just 2 days prior to William vanishing?

I would also like to know whether the female postie had raised allegations against anyone else in the Kendall community. I am aware the female postie's hair was a honey coloured blonde and length was below the shoulder.
I'm interested to hear your description of the female postie. Was wondering if she might match the description of the woman that Chapman reported to have have seen?

Gallyot told the court Jubelin later handed him his phone and asked him to make a “synopsis” of the recorded visits with Savage for the Coroner.

Gallyot told the court Jubelin told him “don’t do it word for word and if anyone asks, we’ll just say we obtained it from the listening devices”.

Gallyot told the court Jubelin was asked in a briefing by another officer why he suggested to Savage that his wife Heather may have accidentally run over William and claims Jubelin responded by saying “the death of Heather is a sore point and that’s something I can exploit”.

does this mean there are now allegations that Jubelin requested inaccurate transcriptions of recordings? For Jubelin to push a much more junior officer to do what is alleged, is very telling.

@LiaJHarris

Gallyot has now been excused. Paul Savage will testify via video link after the morning tea break.

It was Jubelin who reportedly believes that PS was waiting for the postie on the morning of William’s disappearance.
Lia Harris on Twitter

It seems Jubelin self believed a lot things that are now proven incorrect. The information that came of the Coroners Inquest where Jubelin insisted Mr Savage could view William playing on the driveway of 48 Benaroon, from his own front porch, was total fabrication as well. Jubelin appears imo to use his own lies to his own advantage. This would leave a successful prosecution in limbo imo.

is very telling.

What it's not telling, is why? Can't wait to get to the operational needs part...

I think Jubelin's defense is going down the road of faulty listening device equipment. If he had stuck with that and had not coerced junior officers as currently alleged he may have gotten away with it imo. But as the current allegations (from current Court testimony) stand, Jubelin appears to have known recording on his own personal phone was not approved. Dangerous grounds here imo. No excuses ever to do what has been alleged.

A junior officer was told "don't save that anywhere" by a senior detective who allegedly directed him to illegally record a phone call during the investigation into William Tyrell's disappearance, a Sydney court has heard.

Former Detective Chief Inspector Gary Jubelin, who quit the force in 2019, is contesting accusations he broke the law in 2017 and 2018 when taping four conversations with Kendall man Paul Savage.

The first tape - unlike the others - was not recorded by Jubelin.

Rather, a court has heard it was taped by a junior officer under Jubelin's direction.

Detective Senior Constable Greg Gallyot said Jubelin called him into a room at NSW Police's Parramatta headquarters in November 2018 and told him to record a call Jubelin was about to make to Mr Savage.

I hope Lia Harris is not being selective in her twitter reports from Court. A few discrepancies are surfacing.

I still find 10.37 late for Heather to leave to go to bingo, people seem pretty set in their ways that go regularly to things like bingo, sit in same seats, would hate to miss first house.
Was she reluctant to leave until postie had been, this must have been quite stressful and humiliating to her,the AVO, especially if she already knew about her cancer.
Sad for her to have all this added stress in her last months.

Paul Savage is now testifying via video link. The Crown is questioning him about statements he made to police after William Tyrrell disappeared.

Phew at least the AVL is working ;)

Savage tells the court he didn’t know Jubelin was recording their phone conversation when he called in late 2017. He said he also didn’t know Jubelin was recording their conversations in person at his house about six months later.

Is Cunneen SC admitting Jubelin acted against the legislative requirement when she used the language "...to report misconduct". No use of the words 'allegations of misconduct'. Very interesting.

Maybe she is just suggesting if Gallyot felt there was misconduct by anyone, why did he not report it asap as required under the police act?
imo

Savage tells the court he also didn’t know Jubelin was recording their conversation later in 2018. Cunneen is now cross-examining him.

Cunneen asks Savage if he would’ve assumed the conversations were being recorded in some capacity because Jubelin was a senior officer, he said no. He then tells the court Jubelin told him he was going to arrest him. Cunneen told the court that didn’t happen.

Cunneen asks Savage if he assumed he was being recorded by police because Jubelin had made it “obvious” he suspected him of being involved. Savage told the court “I didn’t think people had all their privacy just stripped off them”.

Gallyot told the court Jubelin also told him not to save the recordings of his visits to Savage anywhere when he handed them to him to make a “synopsis”. Cunneen tells the court this is the first time he has made this claim and it is not in his statement. He maintains its true
