Are the Crabbe's being truthful. They arrived back into Benaroon Drive and their property in the nick of time (someone in thread 50 said around 9.30am) didn't they. Anyone know what type of vehicle they drove?
I have no reason not to believe them & their testimony, Det Beacroft spent alot of time with them from memory .........they were certain they did not see PS that morning & from memory not until the afternoon when searchers were happening ( I'll also check my notes for this as well )

Where did the inference 'lie' come into it. Well from my view it is possible anyone on that street is a suspect.
Untruthful was the word you used, if they were not truthful wouldn’t they be lying. Semantics here

Cunneen is now cross-examining Apthorpe. She asks him why he didn’t agree with the Spider-Man suit operation and he told the court he felt “it might be very hard to determine the reaction of a guilty man and someone who’s innocent”.

I have to agree with that. If he didn't grab it and run and hide it or check a gravesite or make a very hurried phone call to someone, any other reaction would be hard to gauge. As a perfectly innocent person I think you would quickly make contact with LE. If you were an innocent person but you had been questioned closely and felt you were a possible suspect, even being seen near a spiderman suit in the bush could frighten you enough to just leave it alone. Hard to know but it certainly isn't definitive behaviour either way to me.

Cunneen asks Apthorpe if it crossed his mind Savage was saying these things because he suspected people were listening. He said he had considered it.

I believe they consulted a psychologist on this , I wonder what their take on his behaviour was .

This is a copy of a tweet message posted on websleuths. I don't know how to copy a link on a previous thread. The message number is below

Mrs Crabb is also asked if she saw Paul Savage that day walking up past her house. She responds “I can’t remember seeing him going for a walk earlier that day”. She told the court she saw him in the afternoon and they spoke about William.

A search party went up the hill behind the Crabbe's place didn't it? Anyone got a link to the search party document that was released by the coroner please? Maybe earlier Mr Savage talked to Mrs Crabbe (Sharelle) about search her rear yard.

Officer Bachelor told the court the media was somehow informed Jubelin would be charged before they’d even had a chance to serve him with the court attendance notice. In fact, they heard it reported on the radio while they were driving to his house to serve him with the papers.

I think Mr Savage's initial reaction would be shock given how much time(?) it was planted after William vanished and we are told Mr Savage walked the trail every day he would have seen the spider suit previously in my view. To me this was a futile exercise.

I am well aware of that socalled fact. I stand by what I have previously written today upthread.

The truth may not always be 100% truthful.

During cross-examination, Apthorpe concedes it’s possible Savage did admit to seeing the replica Spider-Man suit in the bush on both days.

Cunneen's good :)
