Okay, I read the article and at first it lost me at tradies hooning in their utes. Stereotype much? It's a good article but what is it that suggests Bill Spedding should be cleared? Has it been confirmed he was at the school when William disappeared?

JMO that BS isn't involved. Always thought it was a vendetta against him and that article kind of confirmed it for me.

But it is kind of troublesome that Mrs. Spedding asked a psychic if her hubby had anything to do with it/ Sounds like she has some doubts ?

I would probably ask the psychic ' Are we ever going to be cleared' from these accusations, if I thought my hubby was innocent. But asking if he was guilty, hmmmmmm.....

I was sceptical that he was involved, too. Now I'm taking the parsimonious approach to the police press statements though. I think they're all connected in some way. I suppose what I saw in that article was that people close to BS were defending him, and someone for some reason has something against him. No indication of what that vendetta is though. I thought it was quite a neutral article.

Interesting points in the article about the slope leading down from the garden to the road. Could he have tumbled down it? 70 metres is a long way. Anyone got a photo?

"Ahead, on your right, a grass slope rises steeply, unfenced, from the road"

"William and his sister play chase in the garden, which slopes down steeply, 70 metres or so, to the road. There’s no fence"

Right!!!

I Bet BS isn't too happy with his buddy right now for telling this to the press!

Very interesting piece of information. LE probably could tell she has doubts.

There are a few things that stand out to me in this article. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news...-1227308563088

Spedding had visited William’s grandmother in Benaroon Drive to repair her washing machine. He took away a part and was supposed to return the day that William disappeared, to fix the machine. But, he told his friend Colin Youngberry, he never went to Kendall that day and was with his wife in Laurieton attending a school function instead. Youngberry says Bill and Margaret Spedding had a coffee afterwards and that Bill’s bank records show he was in Laurieton at the time William disappeared. But Youngberry says there is another reason why police may be unfairly hounding his friend — he says that a former partner of Spedding’s has made vexatious complaints against him for years. “You should look into that,”

BBM: According to Youngberry the Speddings had a coffee after attending the school function. Didn't that particular function start at about midday?

And...

Ah, the infamous former partner who has made vexatious complaints against him for years. No prizes for guessing who that is.

A few months ago, Youngberry reveals, Margaret Spedding went to a clairvoyant. He says he’s heard the tape recording of the conversation. Margaret asked the clairvoyant if her husband had been involved in any way in William’s disappearance. The clairvoyant reassured her he hadn’t. “That made her feel good,” Youngberry says.

BBM: So Margaret Spedding had doubts about her husband and consulted a clairvoyant to alleviate her concerns. WTF! So what was the clairvoyant going to say, "Yeah Marg, I'm sorry but Bill is up to his balls in trouble. Best you clear out before you're next." Bloody hell, what a stupid woman! She doubts her husband enough to consult a clairvoyant??? Unbelievable! So the clairvoyant says BS had no involvement in William's disappearance and that makes it so! The police think otherwise and until he is officially cleared by police as a POI, I'll hold my judgement.

I find it difficult to accept that if the police are in fact investigating a paedophile ring in relation to Williams' disappearance, they would announce it in MSM. This type of investigation is usually very much hush-hush and more often than not investigated by undercover police. What has stood out for me for some time now is the underlying message from police to anyone who may be connected to the person who abducted William and knows what happened to come forward. More to the point, I feel they are directing that message to not just anyone, but to a particular someone. I'm surprised the clairvoyant didn't pick that up.

Haha I wonder if the mate has been looked at closely ;)

Makes me think back to the video of BS and MS leaving the police station, how she kept looking up at him when he was asked a question...

I feel awful at the thought of anything happening to this innocent wee boy by these monsters. If there is evidence of photos of him on anybody's computer why are they not sitting in jail right now and being made to talk?

I just dispair at how lax Australia is with pedophiles I really do. No offence intended to my Aussie friends here. I know from previous posts you agree more needs to be done.

I was wondering why *if* the police found something on the POI's computer, why hasn't he been arrested? Could it be too risky to arrest him at the moment? They need to watch and wait, hoping to find William?

I agree it is strange that police are so public about this. I too always thought p ring investigations were highly secretive.

It's been slightly improved lately. The nsw premier is changing the jail time from 25 years to life, I think

Maybe they didn't find it on a persons computer, maybe the information/photo was sent to them through crime stoppers or something.

IMO they have received a tip off that WT is alive (possibly a photo) and now they just need to gather their evidence to make an arrest and get WT back.
