police watched daniel morecombes killer brett cowan for years, without an arrest, knowing what he did,
i think police are on the right track with bs
and even thought it was a surprise visit, williams parents could have still told the grandmother they may visit that weekend,
just not sure which day, she could have told bs it was likely her family and grandchildren may be visiting and needs her machine fixed in case

I can totally understand BS forgetting about the awards ceremony and booking a customer in for the same time. I can tell my husband about something on at the school a week previous then the day before and then the morning of and he will still tell me I didn't tell him about it.

That's true. It's annoying that we only get bits and pieces of people's stories. I wonder if Spedding had rearranged a time to go over that day, surely an awards ceremony in a tiny school, doesn't go all day?

Speaking for myself, I'd be bloody annoyed if my washing machine didn't get fixed because the repair man made a last-minute decision to go to a children's award ceremony instead. I'm a one-person household but I have to do a big load of washing just about every day. It's not a repair that can just wait until the guy's in the mood some time next week. Anyway it's a pity he didn't turn up that morning; it would have been an extra pair of eyes where they were needed.

Do you think Spedding said to his offsider (whom he doesn't want to implicate unless he has to): Were you thinking of going to the children's award ceremony on Friday? No? In that case, would you mind doing this repair job for Mrs ___ in Kendall?

Definitely possible. I guess it depends on how big his repair business is

A few days later we contact his son, Rodney Spedding, who runs a Sydney electrical business. He says despite his father’s calm exterior he is “only just hanging in there”.
He would not comment about the “vexatious complaints” against his father, and says he fully supports him. “He’d give you the shirt off his back,” Rodney *Spedding says.
“He’s taken in kids and looked after them over the years. I’ve watched him with my kids. I’ve got no doubt that he would have nothing to do with the disappearance of William.”

He says his father was due to go to William’s grandmother’s house on the day William disappeared, to fix her washing machine, but “he went to an award ceremony at the school, where one of the boys was getting an award, so he ended up going there rather than going out on that day to William’s grandmother’s”. He says his father told him that he phoned the grandmother to say he would not be coming to fix the washing machine.

I know this has been discussed many times but it just seems that if he did in fact phone the grandmother then it's all in the timing.
What time was he expected to arrive and what time did he make the phone call to say he was not coming?

IIRC he rang later in the day, around 12-1? There was of course a lot going on and Mum said another time.

I think it ran from about 12 until 3. There was a lot of different things going on at the school that day.

Has Spedding or his witnesses revealed where else he went that morning /day? If he didn't go to grandma's and was instead at the coffee shop and the shop was across the road from school, was he having coffee for an hour and a half? :s

He went to his office (near the coffee shop) and after the school event he went to another job.

Sorry that I don't have the link right now, but didn't BS say he called in the afternoon, or at some point after William went missing, to rearrange the job time? If so, why, according to BS son, would he ring in the morning to cancel and then ring again later? I could be grasping at straws here but why wouldn't he rearrange the time in one phone call. Hope it's not too confusing

My thinking is that LE know that BS is connected. His Alibi probably never stood firm which is why they have spent SOOO much time and money on searching his property. They possibly wanted to let his name out there so that they might get more "dirt" on him to make a profile that fits what they are looking for. They may have actually already received such information but are not letting us know because they want/need more. BS is the only POI that I have actually heard being named and LE have made no attempt to clear him or the public's suspicions in any way. I would think that, as usual, they know damn well who is responsible but need to glue the bits together. Releasing the info of a local Pedo ring is possibly just a way of encouraging anyone at all to twig to a connection that will implicate BS (in my opinion.) LE want us to connect these 2 things; BS and Pedo ring. There is little point in arresting BS if it doesn't lead to locating WT. It would be better just to watch him closely, perhaps for years, until they get a good lead. Anyway, that's just what I think.
I agree with everything you have said, I think BS is a " dead man walking" they will grind him down psychologically until he confesses.

That's his story or should say Colin's story

Mr Spedding said he had a missed call from William’s grandmother that morning and could not get through when he tried to call back.

He then went for a coffee and a presentation at his grandchild’s primary school.

What time did grandmother call ?
He could not get through when he tried to call back he then went for coffee - wasn't that said to be about 10.00am?

First time post here.

I think the suspects are in custody and there is evidence WT is still alive. LE through the Media are putting pressure on those holding him. Those holding him don't know what LE know because the suspects are in custody.

There is no way an investigation into a paedophile ring would be compromised by releasing info to the media before they had people in custody.

I think the earlier search was based on credible, but ultimately incorrect information.

Yep there seems to be a few versions of this in MSM. Some say he called her and she didnt answer then she called him back.

I agree totally which is why his mothers carefully worded statement in the video last week made mention of giving him back. Something along the lines of take him to a church, a school etc etc
William could be dropped off and left somewhere safe.
Remember the case of the little girl who went missing in Childers Qld last year. She was returned under the noses of the police and nobody saw anything ! Perhaps this is what will happen to William as well.

First I've heard of it.

As in females looking for male company? Or Males looking for male company?

I wouldn't think Twitter/Facebook would be hot spots for either of that. More so Craigslist/Gumtree/whatever else etc.

I've found more about this now through other threads.... It's nothing. Their seems to of been someone linked to someone who was lesbian and a common hashtag for butch lesbian woman is boi. So this person had posted things ie boi4u on their personal page and it was of course made out to be something it's not. So just disregard. Sorry.

If BS alibi checked out then they would not of searched his properties and his wife would not of consulted a psychic. Let's just hope he has not been dishonest through some stupid reason, an affair etc. I know it's not likely but just wish now it as a family member as he might still be safe

Tyrrell search painful reminder for mother of 9-year-old Ebony Simpson, murdered in 1992
The mother of a nine-year-old girl who was abducted and murdered in the early 1990s has expressed deep concerns for the parents of toddler William Tyrrell, recalling her own terrifying ordeal nearly 23 years ago.

Christine Simpson sat "insane with stress" as police searched for her nine-year-old daughter Ebony after she disappeared while walking home from a bus stop near her family's Bargo home in August 1992.

It is understood police have identified several people they suspect to be involved in the paedophile ring operating in north coast area around Kendall, where three-year-old William disappeared more than seven months ago.

When asked if police had already arrested anyone suspected to be *involved in the ring, investigation head Detective-Inspector Gary Jubelin declined to comment.

Experts from the Behavioural Science Team have been assessing the behaviour and personality characteristics of all suspects to pinpoint anyone capable of abducting William.
