“A woman's body has been found wrapped in plastic and rope at a popular creek on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to Currumbin Creek near Whitsunday Drive about 2.50pm today.

They found a body that is believed to have been in the water for several days.

Investigations are ongoing.”

Harrowing scenes as woman's body is found floating in popular creek

A shocked resident made the discovery at the popular swimming spot on the Gold Coast.

"The local told their neighbours that the woman appeared to be Asian and was wearing a child-sized life vest tied at the front with rope.

A backpack was also found in the water nearby.

It's understood the fully clothed body may have been in the water for several days."
