GUILTY Australia - Woman shot at Melbourne fruit shop, man arrested

A 22-year-old woman is in serious condition after being found with a shot wound to the leg and facial injuries at a house behind a Northcote, Melbourne fruit shop Friday.

A man later walked into a police station and gave himself up. He's been arrested but not charged. Police say it's crucial they speak to the victim as there are no witnesses.

He did beat her up with the gun, before he shot her in the leg, and as she was seriously injured, so my guess is that there were internal injuries too, besides the obvious ones in her leg, and her face.

If she was hit hard enough, and several times, in the stomach, it might have caused a blunt trauma to the abdomen/colon, and that cause a gastrointestinal perforation, which can lead to bowel infarction and/or abscesses, and a need for a colostomy.
