Avoid toothpaste made in China, FDA says

  • #21
The Chinese are totally out of control! I'm about to boycott the whole lot of them.... products, restaurants and all! And I LOVE chinese food! :bang:

Ditto your thought.

I was just wondering if there is a web site that lists products that are not American made?

If so, I would use it everyday of my life to avoid sending my money to China!!

--Exactly--Our neighbors here in Florida have an orange tree--when you pick an orange right off the tree, and then eat it right away, its incredibly sweet--much better than any orange bought in a supermarket, whether its from Florida, California, or Brazil

It must be the same for getting fruit directly from a grove too. My sister sends me a case of Florida oranges and grapefruit every winter and they are so sweet as well. They are shipped by ordinary mail...I think.

Interesting what Autumn says about refrigeration sucking the flavor out. Never would have guessed that.

I don't even know if that would help Lisain. With the pet food for example, it was the wheat gluten that was imported from China and of course they don't list where each ingredient is made.

I knit a little. I have carpal tunnel so I use a loom. Mainly I knit blankets, scarves, hats and gloves. I need to get a rectangle loom since I would like to make my daughter some sweaters. She has 3 knitted sweaters that my great grandma made for me and they fit her perfectly and are still in wonderful shape. She loves them, especially the white one since my great grandma knitted pink flowers in them. My favorite knitting material is alpaca, it is so soft and warm and its what I hope to make a nice warm blanket out of for this winter for my daughter.

Wow. Kudos to you with using a loom! So many talented people here!
I have an alpaca scarf which someone brought me back from Peru. I just love it!

I've avoided buying anything made in China for years now if possible, but didn't realize that they were importing toothpaste and other things. How do we know, is it on the label ? I don't understand why the U.S. is allowing this to happen.

FYI...I bought a can of mushrooms at WalMart a week or so ago, and when I started to use them noticed that the can read "Product of China". It was the WM brand of 'shrooms...sigh.

Don't eat them Lisa. Walmart is biggest store in the world who buys from China!

Every one of you reading here should go to:

and then read the Washington Post Article!

And then come back and post! This is truly an eye-opener!

Thank you Love Mama!

It's on now! I'm going to send out a bulletin to all the friends on myspace list and email my friends and family too.

My aunt has a turtle farm that exports to China. The Chinese have been doing them dirty for years. We are trying to get the laws changed so we can sell turtles here in the USA. China has ticked me off big time!

Thanks again for the information! :blowkiss:

Thanks for the links Mama! I just don't know what to say. This is very frustrating. It's like a form of terrorism.

Absolutely. We use an aerogrow garden for growing tomatoes. Refrigeration for a tomato just sucks out the flavor.

You're right, never refrigerate a tomato, it kills the flavor.

You right DK. It does. However the tomatoes I buy in the Super have no flavor to begin with. They're terrible. There is nothing in the world better than a homegrown tomato. I LOVE them.

I just checked the ones I bought at WM. They are Giorgio brand and are a product of the US. Maybe try those next time.
