  • Missing FromKansas Settlement, Arizona
  • ClassificationEndangered Missing
  • Age21 years old
  • Height and Weight5'6, 145 pounds
  • Clothing/Jewelry DescriptionA black t-shirt or tank top, long camouflage-print shorts and green and white skate shoes.
  • Distinguishing CharacteristicsHispanic male. Brown hair, brown eyes. Castillo's hair was cut short at the time of his disappearance. He wears eyeglasses sometimes, but these were left behind. He has a scar on his forearm at least three inches long, and a scar on the back of his head at the right side.
Details of Disappearance
Castillo was last seen at a party in the desert near the Blue Sky Road, near Kansas Settlement, Arizona at approximately 2:00 a.m. on September 14, 2008.

There were at least twenty-five guests at the party that night. Everyone made it home afterwards except Castillo, and it's unclear when he left or who with. He had gotten a ride to the party with friends, and left his wallet and cellular phone at home. He has never been heard from again.

It's uncharacteristic of Castillo to leave without warning; his parents said he would always let them know where he was at. An extensive search of the desert area where the party took place turned up no indication of his whereabouts, and his case remains unsolved.

why has no one looked into the fact that two of the people he was supposedly with that night lived less than a 10 min drive from the location where he went missing ? Or that the car he was supposedly seen getting into fits the description of. A car belonging to someone the family says they have reason to beleive was involved who just happens to be part of one of the biggest trafficking families in bowie az ?

Case was just covered on the Vanished podcast. The episode covers an abundance of possible leads and POIs. Anyone who's interested in this case should listen to it.

I just listened to it today. It’s so clear that there are people who know exactly what happened to him, but everyone is SO SCARED. I don’t think anyone will ever talk. I mean, lots of people are talking with all the gossip and rumors, but the person/people who actually know probably won’t ever speak up. It’s a sad case, because he seemed like a really nice guy—nicer than any of those people at the party.

OT This episode felt like a true crime version of the Real Bros of Simi Valley with all the slang, lol. Yeah bro, going to a kickback...

I actually just listened to the podcast yesterday too. Pretty rough and super weird case, I kind of doubt it’s going to be “solved”, at least in the legal sense.

I have to say too, I am not completely convinced those three dudes mentioned in the podcast are responsible. I mean, they probably are, but they seem to have been somewhat cooperative when they really didn’t need to be, plus their stories aligned AND were at least semi-plausible, which is enough to give me a small amount of doubt.

How sad. I hope someone will come forward, find a way to tell law enforcement where he can be found so there is at least that resolution. If you're scared, send it anonymously. Someone please do the right thing.

A video on Sarah Turney’s TikTok account was the first one Ariana noticed when she opened the app. The Phoenix native began using the platform to seek justice for her sister, Alissa, who vanished in 2001. Her videos that focused on the case went viral and in 2001, her stepfather Michael Turney was charged with Alissa’s murder.

I was inspired by everything she was doing to get justice for her sister,” Adriana said. “I knew I had to do the same for Adam.”

So they created the @JusticeforAdamCastillo TikTok account and prayed someone would come forward with answers. Since then, Adam’s story has been shared on two podcasts - The Vanished podcast and the Voices for Justice podcast, which Sarah Turney had created to tell her sister’s story, along with the stories of others who have vanished.

“We’re doing everything we can to get his story out there,” Cassandra told Dateline. “We need his story to be told. And we need somebody to come forward. Somebody out there knows what happened that night.”
