AZ AZ - Alissa Turney, 17, Phoenix, 17 May 2001 *stepdad ARREST in 2020, acquitted*

Detective Sumershoe says they have never had any notifications about Alissa since she disappeared despite her profile being on a missing persons database. He says he was assigned the case in 2008, and they met with Sarah to get and look through some of Alissa’s items. When they got there, there was only a small tub of her things remaining.

I wonder if the properties they lived on in Anderson CA were ever looked into. Oddly from what I can find online, it looks like they lived in one house and then across the street from that property... If you listened to Voices for Justice podcast, knowing how Sarah felt about her Mom's passing... just kind of feels weird. Wife dies, in 93, then at some point between then and 95 you move into the home across the street, move back to AZ then your Step Daughter goes missing (maybe dead), in 2001 and again, you move across the street into another home. Both homes have a tragedy and you purchase/rent a new home within the eye site of both of those homes...my imagination may be just running wild, but seemed weird. IMO

Imo, it's clear Alissa did not runaway, however, there has been no evidence presented to show that she was murdered and hidden away somewhere by MT.

Her SSN has never been used after she went missing. A large amount of money (almost $2K) was left behind which Alissa had been saving. No contact with any family member (ever) after her last (he took her out of school early) day of school when MT picked her up. MT last person to have been with Alissa. No video of that day, yet MT would video record his kids and record calls every day...

I anticipate that MT was scared because Alissa was tired of his crap and beginning to talk often about it.

Day 4, first time we heard LE testimony.

That's if for now. Hope I am wrong and more comes!

Speculation and MOO

Why is MT drawing up documents for his kid to sign? Red flag(s)!

Hope that the state doesn't forget about MT's newly purchased vehicle right after Alissa went missing. Supposedly he purchased a similar type of vehicle that he already had and did not tell anyone about the new vehicle purchase. Sarah talked about this in her podcast.

And hopefully most understand that a teen signing any "contract" probably just signed it to get the adult off their backs and why would it even be necessary on those subjects? IMO

On the stand this morning…John Lachman (hoping spelling is correct) he was Alissa’s boyfriend at the time of her disappearance. He was one of the last people to see the teen alive

Catching up on testimony…John says he saw Alissa the last day of school (May 17, 2001). He says around 11 am she came and told him she was leaving early with her stepdad Michael. John says he never saw or heard from him again. During his testimony he says Alissa never told him about any plans to run away.

He says he didn’t know Alissa was missing until after work that day. He says he had a missed call from Michael asked where Alissa was or if he knew. A few days later he went to the family’s house and said that Michael showed him the note and discussed what he thought happened.

Defense attorneys ask about John and Alissa’s relationship. If he ever grabbed Alissa violently, John said no. They tried to ask about a bank account and if Alissa would carry cash with her. On redirect John said he did not know her to carry thousands of dollars in her pockets.

Before lunch a now retired Phoenix Detective took the stand who worked on Alissa’s case. Going through his testimony now.

Last few tweets from Day 4, July 12:

Det. Sumershoe told the court today that they asked Michael for the surveillance video from the day Alissa disappeared, but Michael said he didn't have it any more. He said during a search of the home they found hundreds of tapes and VHS tapes (around 500 tapes). Some of the tapes were home videos and such and the tapes were phone recordings from decades.

Det. Sumershoe a phone recording of the alleged phone call from California nor a VHS tape from the day Alissa went missing was found when police searched the Turney family home in 2008. There were no date and time stamps on the tapes he says.

Also to avoid confusion, court has wrapped for the day. I'm covering several stories, and going through testimony still for updates.
