I guess Scottsdale PD thinks everyone knows what a Tiffanys bracelet looks like.

I wonder who the gun belonged to. Did he bring it or was it Allison's?

What gun? Did I miss reading that she was shot?

The killer could have kept the bracelet as a souvenir and may not give it to anyone. The credit cards could be a ruse to make it look like a robbery when it really was a possible sexual assualt. No word that the cards have been used and I doubt they will be used. IMO

Evidence shows the suspect left Feldman's home around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, according to police.
Police said they do not yet know whether Feldman knew her attacker.
Police said the suspect would have had cuts or injuries to his hands or arms likely from Feldman trying to defend herself. The suspect may also be in possession of an iPhone 6, a Tiffany bracelet or credit cards, all of which were stolen from her home, according to police.

It's sounding like a burglary gone wrong........If someone had targeted her for a sexual assault, wouldn't they have been REALLY careful about any type of DNA they might leave?

The bracelet would be really hard to get rid of, Tiffany has too many recognizable marks on their jewelry, and to get anything more than the going price for whatever metal it's made out of, it would hit Craiglists or Ebay, and then the buyer would want authentication of the piece. The description/photo of the bracelet was probably sent to jewelers and pawn shops the minute LE knew it was missing, otherwise "brokers" have to list the item with descriptor in a LE data base for pawned/bought items and a hold is put on them for 30 days (it may be more now) until the item is cleared. Even if nothing shows up as stolen in the data base during that period, a record HAS been made, along with the ID that was presented at the time of pawn/buy, and LE can back track it through the system. Precious stones aren't even bothered with unless their are sizeable.
"Blackmarket/fences" will only give between 10-30% of the actual value of stolen merchandise, jewelry is usually about 10-15%.

LE may have mentioned the bracelet BECAUSE it's a recognizable "brand", there may have been other jewelry and items taken but they were common. And nothing has gone through the LE data base as far as pawn or jewelry stores.

Scottsdale detectives are asking anyone who has seen a man with a Tiffany bracelet or any woman who recently was given one within the last month to contact them.

Was ^this^ the "target"?

AF was in and out of town for her job, someone *might* have been watching her house. They may have assumed she was "out of town" and burglarized her place, she came home, burglar hid, she hit the shower, burglar tried to leave and she busted them. (Him, them, whatever the case)

Or her home was burglarized while she was in the shower, or asleep in her bed naked?

http://www.abc15.com/news/region-no...nd-dead-in-home-had-head-injury-documents-say

According to the search-warrant affidavit, Feldman's boyfriend found her nude with a cloth wrapped around her head.

First responders found Feldman had "cranial trauma" and pronounced her dead. They also discovered a white substance around her body and smelled a bleach-like odor, the documents said.

The "naked with a cloth wrapped around her head", "bleach smell", "white stuff"..........

  • If you're going to sexually assault or murder someone, you don't take things that can connect you to the crime like credit cards, an iPhone, and identifiable jewelry. A souvenir? Maybe, but this is overboard.
  • Committing a burglary at night jacks it up another degree (felony wise) because it is assumed people will be at home, and the burglar is prepared for a possible physical encounter. Pros or cat burglars take that risk, and they dress for it, dark clothing easy to discard, and gloves. They also don't take things that will be readily missed like credit cards. Was that just a fluke?
  • If the intent was sexual assault, wouldn't there be some kind of restraints, rope, a gag, or something? It's a neighborhood, someone would have heard or woken up to something.
  • If LE believes the perp left at 1:00 am, what made the perp stop the cleanup and leave? Or was it a "WTH am I doing?" moment?
  • If LE says the perp would have cuts/injuries to his hands/arms, they have to have found DNA under her fingernails..........does this mean the perp has never been convicted of a crime and no DNA is on record for them?

Who put in her burglar alarm is what I'd like to know. No forced entry, a specific, non fencible item taken, installer would have known AF's reasons for an alarm system (ie, being away from home on business, single female) and she may have mentioned whether she had a firearm or not.
Burglar alarms or even those fake security system signs are the #1 reason a burglar with bypass your house.

Still feels like a botched burglary to me until more comes out.
Not enough to work with.

Tiffany's put their name and "New York" on all their jewelry, some is obvious, some is subtle, but it's there. Some bracelets have the Tiffany Heart, which says "Please Return to Tiffany & Co. New York", clasps on bracelets have "T & Co", it's all about the NAME.
It would've been nice if they posted a pic cause there's 100's of T & C bracelets.

Authorities have released limited information since the shooting citing the ongoing investigation. However, documents released said Feldman suffered serious head trauma and was found lying in a pool of blood.

Trying to add the link.

Bad link, unless it was pulled.

This one should work.

So now it's a shooting?

Shooting, but perp has cuts or injuries to arms or hands? IDK.

Still thinking bungled burglary.

So.........she was shot and no one heard it? And we're talking tract homes here, not houses on 50 acres. And on a Tuesday night, early, early Wednesday morning. (before 1:00 am)
Small caliber gun?

Get's stranger and stranger.............

Okay. I'm under control now.

Here's what I think based on hearsay and my own observations. My opinion only. You can take it or leave it. SPD has someone they were monitoring. What happened? Where are they? They have a video. They are trying to leave us or someone little clues.

Like saying he might not be violent but could become violent... Hinting they know something about him.

They say the boyfriend is not a suspect.

They are still saying she was targeted. For a tiffany bracelet. Really?

I don't think this was a botched burglary. I think she knew her assailant. And I think that LE knows who it is but doesn't have DNA on him.

I think he tried to make this look like a robbery.

Maybe he didn't go there to kill her. Maybe he just wanted the bracelet he gave her back.

I think he got scared and panicked and left. He never saw the surveillance cam.

I must be losing it, I still don't see anything about a shooting. Was Allison shot????

  • #453
I admit I don't know a lot about police investigations so maybe someone here can help me.

If the cops have a person of interest but no real physical evidence and they want to question him, can he refuse to give them DNA sample? Then get a smart lawyer to prevent them from further question unless they get real hard evidence like day a tiffanys bracelet he stole?

I mean even if they saw this guy on video can he get out of giving up his DNA?

Yes Mary. She was shot. Or someone was shot. Sorry my link doesn't work.
Try Berninas link. It works.

Saw your clip MissD. Thanks for that. Wow, it gets more baffling all the time. Alarming SPD says basically not to worry about a killer going door to door (or something to that effect) now they give the impression they haven't a clue if it was random or not. It seems to me SPD isn't handling this well as far as accurate updates to the concerned neighborhood.

So just WHO should be looking for a Tiffany bracelet? The neighborhood? All of Scottsdale?

How broad is that request?

How do they know the perp left Allison's house at 1am? Does evidence = video?

I can see how you are confused. So am I. But I have a feeling they are releasing info the killer will not be confused by and they are attempting to force his hand.

I have to believe my police department is more competent than to tell the neighborhood they are safe unless they were pretty sure they know who did it.

I have a feeling this was a first time killer.

I wonder how many tiffany bracelets were given as Valentine's day presents here in Scottsdale.
