Great to see this thread is open again! Thanks Bessie!
Wish we had some new info from LE...

I'm not local. I wonder if there's been any updates the the local Scottsdale news or in the newspaper. Maybe MissD has seen something today.

MissD, You missed your calling. You should have been a detective, better yet, investigator!

I don't think she missed her calling.........I think she's doing just that! LOL. Great job MissD.

Having grown up in the area, I wanted to mention that it always has been a safe area. There is no question about that. Not being a gated community, crime still does exist there. I had a friend growing up who's brother broke into a home on Monterray Way, many years ago. The area across Earl Drive (the cross street to Monterray Way) has always had a higher crime rate, consisting of homes build around 10 years earlier.

The homes where Allison's home was built used to consist of cotton fields, and her's had one previous owner, who had the home built.

Having visited the other day, I noticed in Allison's back window there is a line of bottles of alcohol, with what appears to be a bottle of Veuve Cliquot champagne, unopened.

<modsnip>

I am going with #5.

I feel the limited clues we have now suggest someone who Allison was familiar with, and not a knowledgeable criminal. What criminal would spend so much time at the house after the crime? Talk about taking a risk.

I believe it was staged.

There are dogs at a nearby house, so exiting by the alley and leaving away from Earl Drive would make them bark. People would be suspicious of someone using the alley late at night. It is not normal there, however, I doubt anyone would remember a single incidence of dogs barking at night.

The SPD have been gathering DNA from any males that match a certain profile in the neighborhood. To me, this does not suggest they have a DNA match yet. A DNA match with the DNA found under the fingernails to me is a pretty open and shut case, so they must not have a match.

Thank you for this informative post. As for the dogs, if LE had questioned the neighbors immediately after she was found,I'm sure people that owned dogs would have remembered then. I'm also in agreement with #5.

Interesting, so maybe the Valentine's Day bottle was not opened.

Sort of a bizzar photo. Why is there two bundles of flowers? Why one bundle in a jar, and the other just laying on the table?

Also, I wonder if she was not a fan of chocolate? I see a little bag there, but not the big red hart shaped box of chocolates?

BBM - Likewise - thanks Cumulus!. Also very interesting about the "what appears to be a bottle of Veuve Cliquot champagne, unopened".

Being a $50 to $70 bottle of booze, I can see why it would be unopened. On the other hand, keeping it in the window would destroy the taste.

Great to get input from another local! Thanks! Agree!
Allot could be narrowed down if LE released more about the crime scene... would think if they were looking for a stranger/ random attacker they would...

ETA: :welcome: to WS and this thread!

Interesting, so maybe the Valentine's Day bottle was not opened.

Perhaps their (i.e., Allison and her bf's) Valentine's Day celebration never really got started for some reason and the bottle was put up on the shelf. MOO.

I do know one thing, this was a cruel murder. It's like a maniac went off and did this. Her sister, cousin and parents can't come up with anyone so it is baffling and if this person never commits a crime again, they will never mind him on a DNA match, that is, unless someone comes forth.

Right. But if you are going to use it, I think most people put it in the fridge to get cold. Not put on a window where the sun can damage the contents.

I wonder if during the 4 days forensics were carried out in her house, if the bottle was moved then to the window sill?

I'm not sure everyone knows that sun would damage the contents of a bottle of champagne. And -- if Allison's plans for opening it on Valentine's Day didn't pan out, and she had no future plans to open it soon, she could well have chosen not to refrigerate it. JMO.

Interesting about the champagne. I have to admit that I didn't know sun damages it. I wouldn't be surprised that it was dusted for fingerprints. It would be intersting to know if they were anyone's other than Allison's or her BF. I agree Nancy about the DNA .

Just curious...is there any chance of us getting any local(s) verified....perhaps as 'insiders'...???

The reason Champagne is bottled in the darker green bottle is to protect it from light. I still find it odd it was not opened for the occasion especially since she posted a pic on FB.

I wonder why it was not put in the fridge to chill? That is what I would do unless they were saving it for some other special occasion.
