even in 2015 they were looking to see who if anybody connected to AF WIFI on the night of her murder, Alex not hitting her WIFI that night, never mentioned anybody else connecting, so maybe defendant left phone in car

James Catsamaledis sp the pharmacist computer or phone activity was not looked at by him, reading around the case the defense was going to have someone else being there SODDI, before they decided to go with the pharmacist as her killer, this was discussed in pre trial hearings when the judge said they could use the SODDI defense using the pharmacist as the killer and other witnesses could testify things about the pharmacist in relation to case, the pharmacist was in court at a hearing with his atty and pled the 5th, the defense wanted the pharmacist to be made to get on witness stand and plead 5th then, judge denied this

AF and Alex phone records collected, LE was building timeline of AF and Alex on the day pre the murder, plus who she was in contact with, and when she stopped using phone, plus who the people in her phone were, looking at Alex phone day before murder up to when he found AF, Charles Hunt mentioned, he is Alex roommate

LE were so thorough in this case, they searched very hard to try to find connections IM may have had with AF in or before 2015, they found ex girlfriend who lived in neighborhood but that was from 2017, and checke4d his brothers and there cars to see if they had connection to AF neighborhood and that would be the tie to how IM came to choose AF home, but there was no connection to AF home from his two brothers,

his cell phone didn't help as records only went back to 2017 and AF murdered in 2015,

I have watched videos of her parents and it is heartbreaking, she was so loved, such a tragedy, and LE illegally using his blood sample has meant they have been fighting for years to get to trial

The pharmacist who the defense is arguing is the murderer gave 2 buccal swabs, and 2 different analysts tested the buccal swabs independently of each other and both excluded him as being the contributor to the PMH sample from the crime scene, the unknown male(PMH is a mixed profile, the DNA mixture was only on one loci so a tiny bit of DNA was recorded that was different to the other profile in the mix)
all buccal swabs were tested to see if they were a match to PMH, any male it seems who they came into contact with during the investigation, when the pharmacist DNA was tested LE nor the lab knew who the PMH swab from crime scene belonged too, it was only when they found a match to the defendant in April 2018

the analyst wrote her report on the match from PMH crime scene to IM blood vials from his prior DUI blood draw on April 6 2018 very difficult for the defense to climb that mountain (the buccal swab testing was done from 2015 up to 2018, when they got the hit on the defendant,)

the defendant is the only contributor to the sample they have matched to PMH, but boy did they have to do some testing before they got to him

The lab that processed the DNA only found unknown male DNA on the swab PHA, at that time the lab was using the "binary" traditional method of DNA testing according to analyst, but they changed to a new method STARMIX, they changed after IM the defendant had been matched to the PHA sample. analyst said they didn't change to the new method because they now had a match to IM. but it is a bit fishy when many of the items tested under the old method did not reveal the presence of IM, but the new method did,

so now the DNA found in her home that can be contributed to IM (some items are partial DNA results, some mixtures, and the statistical probabilities are different) are on the beer bottle state argues he assaulted her with he is part of a mix with AF and AS (her boyfriend) I am not sure if he was on the cap end or the broken bottom end, as it is very difficult to follow all the details, but some of his DNA is on that bottle, and there was some of his DNA on the arcadia sliding door, I may have missed some of her testimony as it was a lot, but his DNA was in at least 3 places in her home, a home he says he never went in, and he says he never knew AF,

I bet the analyst is not looking forward to cross

And the pharmacist must be feeling a bit better today, as his DNA was not found in the home, and the defendants was found in at least 3 places, places where it was to be expected, ie somebody had to touch the beer bottles to break them, and somebody was attacking AF both inside and outside her home and the arcadia door was where they exited the home as she was obviously fighting for her life and trying to get away,

Defense atty cross of DNA has lost me, too technical about the software and ways the DNA gets extracted, and statistics and probabilities, maths was never my strong point (I won't autocorrect maths to math, I let all the other words slide but maths is maths to me, I don't think defense was very effective at explaining in any detail how IM DNA is in the home of a murdered woman who he says he never met or was in her home,

Defense atty just seemed to want to let her know how knowledgeable he was about how her lab processes DNA and he appeared to enjoy using all the big technical terms, analyst was more than a match for him, she is very scientific, fair in her analysis, and really knows her stuff

the trial is taking so long because of short court days, there have been lots of breaks, but for me the main thing is the irrelevant information the state seems to think the jury needs to hear, April the ex girlfriend of IM testified and the state asked her about her career and went over her and IM relationship from 2003. completely not relevant to trial, all they needed from her was her knowledge of his drinking, his 2 DUI are important as is the knowledge that he had there minor child in the trial for both DUI, this points to his reckless behavior and his continued drinking and driving even though he had been caught once, his drinking could also be tenuously used to say whilst he was looking round for a home to rob he saw the coolers of beer in AF back garden and went in to rob them, she heard him outside and that was when he attacked and killed her, I do not understand why they had to go over his drinking for what felt like hours, we get it he drank, he has two dui so no need to belabor the point

I think there is an argument to be made that he was in the alley behind AF and other homes looking for things to steal from gardens, garages or sheds, not necessarily to go into a home and AF heard him opened the arcadia door and went to see what noise was, his drinking which April testified to made him reckless and braver than usual, Dutch courage

April was also to be used as a witness to say he did enjoy strangling her as part of sex, to tie him to AF murder who was strangled, he also bashed her head in which I feel was the first attack and strangulation was to finish her off as the bashing hadn't, she also was sleeping in different room and they were not having sex,

She also gave LE her online journal so it would have been more effective to focus on entries in her diary as they are related to specific events related to his drinking with times and dates, plus he wasn't home on night of murder she doesn't know what time he came in. IM had temper when drinking, would say derogatory sexual things to her in front of kids, was concerning to her but she still stayed with him,

her memory is also very poor as is to be expected as they started dating in 2003, so many things she is testifying to she can't date, such as when she says he began to be secretive about locking the safe, and his office desk, she has no idea when this began, state had to elicit the secret safe locking as IM says he put 1,000 dollars in bank (state say he stole it off AF) he says got from brother, as he wouldn't put it in safe he says was in his office as it would beep and wake her up and defense is using this to say April was monitoring IM and noting down all the bad things for future custody issues, they broke up many times, she can't remember when, 2016 last time she left, they were still together when he murdered AF and for a period after,

she is going over and over about his drinking, and he was a poor parent but she wanted to remain a family, what relevance is this to the murder, it sounds like a common garden toxic relationship that should have ended as soon as it started, Craig his brother protective of IM, this is the one IM says gave him 100o dollars on night of murder, so just putting in jurors minds he may be testifying how he is to protect his brother, not because its the truth

The more I learn of this murder the less I think it initially was sexually motivated, I think he was looking for stuff to rob as he was financially strapped, then once AF saw him he attacked her, and decided he had to kill her as she would report him to LE, the assault with the bottle is an aggressive attack as much as sexual, and seems to have been done as he was incredibly angry with AF as she literally fought him to her last breath, the assault with bottle was done when she was alive,

IM has 3 bothers, knew Craig best, met his parents once or twice, spoke to Craigs wife a lot, Craig will testify

IM drinking caused huge financial problems, she went back to work to make her own money so she could eventually leave him, 2014 went back to work, 2014-15 relationship done in her eyes, sleeping separately , no sex. she was so done by this point, no sex sore spot with IM, when they did have sex IM enjoyed choking her, she was ok with it at times. not sure who introduced the choking, she enjoyed light pressure only, IM choked her harder than she was comfortable with, IM did not listen when she said he choked too hard, 2014-15 no sex IM said more derogatory stuff.,
