Found Deceased AZ - Brian Histand, 25, Phoenix, 15 May 2013

There are so many bodies in canals in Phoenix that I can't figure out where to start to see if they have been identified. Did Brian have tatoos?

I recall nothing about tattoos, but I do know he had several injuries. Perhaps he'd had broken bones that would be noted in UID indexes? PhilK may be able to shed some light on that.

Yes I was wondering about injuries too. I am running behind this week but promise I will try and coordinate a SM push for him too. My little ones speech school had an outbreak of whooping cough so was cancelled today(it's only on Wednesday and Friday) and that is when I get my "sleuthing" in!

Question: did he wear any jewelry ever? Like a favorite bracelet/ring/necklace?

Respectfully, I think "cogent" is not the right word in this context. Cognizant, maybe?

He isn't a rule out on this, but it mentions tooth decay in front teeth, but also says long unkempt hair. Do we know if Brian had a north face backpack?

Nvm, it says sandy blonde hair.

Even though it says blonde mustache and probable dirty blonde hair, I'm going to copy the items he was wearing and had with him just in case.

""The North Face" black mountaineering style pants, blue parka, black gloves, blue gloves, green lycra shorts, black and red beanie cap, brown fleece pullover jacket, black long sleeve thermal undershirt, black long underwear, ("Starter" brand), green utility belt"

"1 yellow boxcutter knife found in jacket pocket. 1 small brown stuffed animal (moose) found in left pocket of fleece jacket."

I hope it's not Brian. I have always had a feeling he's still alive out there and I want that to be true!

Brian didn't have any tattoos. As far as broken bones i'm not sure. As far as I've known him which is probably like 10 years, He had some kind ankle injury but I don't recall if anything was broken, same with his hand. Otherwise just the normal pains and strains. From what I can recall the most distinctive physical feature that is out of the norm would be his feet http://twitpic.com/81urb7 but i'm sure they don't log that kind of stuff. I do think his dad logged his DNA into the system or at least that is what I heard.

If he was given something, he might wear anything but north face gear wouldn't be typical. Didn't normally wear jewelry except for maybe a random wristband here or there

I wish they had an email for the case manager just to submit and get a rule out, I am much better at emailing verses calling in to these people.

Aw, dude's got bunions worse than mine. That will make it hard to walk after awhile, hard to wear shoes, and gives a TON of pain in wet climates... every time it's gonna rain my foot tells me hours ahead of time. It can be the kind of pain that makes you see stars.

I am still really hoping that he is found soon, so unfair for all his friends and family who don't have any answers. *fingers crossed*

From above link, posted by Brian's father back in 2013:

"I talked to the officer that was with him on May 15th. He called me that morning when he was with Brian, but due to the three hour difference in time zone and that I was at work I did not get the message until many hours later. While officers may interpret situations differently, this officer did a good job. He talked to my son, determined no crime was committed in the middle of a field where no one could see anything. My son displayed intelligetn conversation with the officers for about an hour. They gave him water, offered assistance including transportation. At that moment, oficers decided Brian was able to care for himself and released him although the officer told me there was something going on with him mentally.

Other apparent sightings reveal a deteriorating mental capacity and much confusion. We have not had additional sightings since last Thursday May 30th."

I wish he had committed a crime, only because it would have changed this outcome. :-/

Yes same field. The alfalfa at the time was like ankle/calf high, and its a large field so you wouldn't be able to find keys in it at night.

Can't believe you guys dug up the bmxboard post! Yeah a lot of those guys have known Brian for a decade or more, either in real life or simply through the board. Its where I had seen him (fitbrian) post riding videos, and then realized he was the person in my accounting class!
