I'm so sorry to see this news. Some missing people just stick with you, you don't forget them even with the passage of time. You may never even post on their thread, but you still think about them and hope for resolution for them and their families.

So sad to see this. Prayers and healing for his family.

Just back from rural Spain, with no internet, so catching up.

I'm shocked and saddened to read that Brian's body has been found.

I know it would have been unlikely, but always hoped he was safe somewhere, taken in and cared for, following what sounded like a psychotic episode.

For some reason I have never forgotten this young man.

There is something very special behind those eyes, that is hard to put into words.

The Phoenix Fire Department and Phoenix Police placed a memorial for Brian on South Mountain.

Just had a look at the FB, his Dad states Brian's cause of death cannot be determined. There's a celebration of his life in his home state of PA on April 30.

Did anyone watch Disappeared last night? I was surprised there wasn't an update at the end stating he had been found. I'm assuming he succumbed to the elements. RIP. He seemed like he was really troubled prior to disappearing. And such a gentle caring man. Very sad loss.

Did anyone watch Disappeared last night? I was surprised there wasn't an update at the end stating he had been found. I'm assuming he succumbed to the elements. RIP. He seemed like he was really troubled prior to disappearing. And such a gentle caring man. Very sad loss.

I watched it and that's why I'm here. Of course I'm shocked to learn his body was discovered since it was not mentioned on the show.

The entire episode seemed a bit off. There was no mention of possible drug use, despite BH staying up all night cleaning and walking around naked in an open field. He may have had no history of drug use, but he also had no history of mental illness and yet the show did raise that possibility.

But now that I know the producers knew the young man's fate when they edited the show, it makes sense: it would have been hurtful to the family to raise that possibility about their deceased son for really no purpose since he's no longer missing.

I feel for the dad. He was heart-breaking to watch. Hopefully he will find some peace in knowing his son's fate.

I registered for this one thing and one thing only, because it was driving me absolutely crazy!

I have been following the story from when it first happened just because it was interesting, but I have always been amazed at how no one ever brought up the possibility that he was simply high on drugs!!! Explains it all. Explains everything. Open and shut case. No mystery here.

When lo and behold the gentleman above finally broached the subject.

The purported head injuries that his father speaks of may explain being incoherent and confused, but it does NOT explain the actions of Brian.

But I'll tell you what DOES fit the actions of a person staying up all night cleaning a place with a toothbrush to the point of it being extremely immaculate, picking up trash along the roadside, sitting in an alfalfa field for hours, and walking around naked, and it's called hallucinatory drugs!

Dropping acid or chewing shrooms fits like a pair of custom made shoes, and why nobody wants to talk about that is beyond my imagination.

Secondly, I never saw a big mystery here to begin with, with or without the concept that he was high on drugs.

And not to brag, but when I first heard of the story I turned around to my wife and said "well there's a no-brainer, the kid died of exposure"

Wandering around on foot in the Arizona DESERT? In temperatures of 100° PLUS? With no food or WATER? For whatever cause, completely INCOHERENT and unaware of his surroundings??? 2 days at BEST

Im sorry. But if you want a recipe for a quick and fast death, put the above ingredients in a bowl and mix!

I put my money on drugs and desert. I've just got paid on the desert, drugs we will never know.

But one things for sure, an intelligent person like Brian doesn't just overnight wander into a desert on foot with no supplies unless he's one of two things and one of two things ONLY, mentally incompetent or high on drugs.

People don't become mentally incompetent overnight, so what does that leave???

Brian was someone who was loved by many, so I can't let the last post on his thread be such a negative one. The truth is, we will never know what caused Brian's odd behavior toward the end, no matter how strong our opinion is. Certainly multiple concussions or a slow brain bleed from his last head injury are reasonable possibilities that can cause mental disturbances. So can schizophrenia, which can first appear in a young man's mid-twenties, as it did with my cousin and a highschool classmate of my daughter's. While uncharacteristic drug use is possible, and we are all entitled to our opinions, most Websleuthers will not think it is necessary to make pointlessly strong, unnecessarily hurtful and flippant assertions about drug use when there are other very likely reasons for what happened that can be researched IMO. That's just not what we do here, especially for family and friends to read.

So, whatever the reason for Brian's mental disturbance and death, let us remember the smiling, talented young man we see in his photos. His family and friends are in pain and will always miss the Brian they knew. May we comfort them in their grief and stand with them as they forever remember Brian. :heartbeat:

My brother began exibiting symptoms of OCD and schizophrenia in his early twenties. He left college abruptly, returned to my parents' house, started cleaning and has not stopped, over thirty years later. He admits that voices tell him what to clean and when, and then start over again. Basically he is house-bound and my other younger brother now lives with and takes care of him. This is not an uncommon age for the onset of these types of illnesses. I was reminded of my brother instantly when Brian stayed to clean his workplace. Jmo
