omg...smh
well they won't be driving their flipping precious truck for some time...hopefully

I'm actually very ticked about this. These people used resources for an amber alert just because of a stolen vehicle. SMH Anyone come up with names of these idiots?
I found 1, but not 1000% sure yet

Well, the "caregivers" are now in their own pot of trouble. Falsifying a police report of the kidnap; the Amber Alert; and having LE go to a lot of trouble to save this little girl named Wendy.
Book 'em, Danno*.
Damm.

*For those old enuff to remember the original "Hawaii Five-O"

What vile and disgusting creatures and I'm not talking about the couple that stole the truck.

Absolutely despicable. Amber Alert, helicopter, 50 cops ... all the resources that went into their BIG FAT LIE !!

Can't leave this thread here in Missing, can't move to Located. Am going to move this thread to Crimes in the News and give these folks as much coverage as possible under the circumstances.

Altogether now 1, 2 3 ... let's ALL circumvent the profanity filters that WS has in place !! (okay, jk)

If they hid the child to get faster police response that would be a good thing in the long run...but nothing feels right about this business.

Police: Missing child and carjacking was hoax
Officers questioned Gaither throughout the night and he finally admitted there was never a carjacking or kidnapping. However police say he was the victim of a robbery Thursday night, but while walking along the sidewalk.

Am I reading this right? There was never a carjacking or kidnapping? Who are the 2 people that were named?

This isn't funny, but at the same time it is. Imagine the thieves who stole your vehicle cooperating with authorities to bring charges against you for falsely reporting a kidnapping.:D Idiots, all of them!

UPDATE: No baby in stolen truck, couple "fabricated" kidnapping story, Phoenix police say
The 1999 Ford F-250 was stolen from a QuikTrip
the thing is over 20 yrs old. WTH

Snipped
...officers detained the man and woman who took the truck after they were found in a nearby home. Both were said to be cooperating with police. [snip] "With the facts as we now know them, the suspects will now be arrested and booked for false reporting to law enforcement."

At least it's good that there's no missing endangered child.

Too bad all they get are misdemeanor charges. They deserve a bit more, imo.

Phoenix police ID couple arrested in missing baby hoax
snipped

Police on Thursday morning identified the suspects as Stormee Wagner, 40, and James Wagner, 37. [snip] ...the suspects will now be arrested and booked for false reporting to law enforcement.
