Looks like Dani's mom goes to trial on March 22 (her bond had also been lowered).

Corey charged with first degree murder. The state has until March 13 to report whether they will seek the death penalty.

No. It was changed to a complex case so there's a hearing on the 29th.

Ambreatte's conference was extended to May.

Corey's trial starts Feb 10, 2014. His public defender resigned, and they need to appoint a new one. He was ordered to undergo competency screenings, IQ testing, etc. I hope this is standard and that they aren't trying to set up an insanity defense.

If they are going for the death penalty it is probably standard. Those are issues that could cause problems with a death penalty case in appeal.

An Ahwatukee woman accused in the 2011 beating death of her 3-year-old daughter has pleaded guilty to child abuse.
Maricopa County prosecutors say 25-year-old Ambreatte Daniels entered her plea Friday in the case. Her next scheduled court date is a Nov. 21 status conference.

Phoenix mom sentenced for not reporting child abuse in girl's death

Ambreatte Smith, 29, pleaded guilty to child abuse in 2012. Authorities said she knew her then-husband was abusing her daughter, Dani Mayo, but failed to report it.

On Wednesday, Judge Warren Granville sentenced Smith to two years probation, less than the presumptive 10 years, because she has been "very compliant" during her previous probationary period. Smith has been out of custody and awaiting sentencing for a little over five years.
