Not yet, the defense isn't finished with their closing argument, the jury ought to get the case sometime around lunch (before or after). Don't know if this judge let's JM rebut or if he's all done, he sounded done when he finished and asked them to find RC guilty of all three charges yesterday but don't know.

ETA: If Mehrens takes as long as JM did, jury won't get the case till late afternoon. lol

Esp. at the rate he talks and moves!!! hahahha.

I think Mehrens just made a grave error with the jurors in calling Juan an "idiot" and using that quote--if the jurors are leaning towards Juan, that name calling is going to work against Mehrens and Chrisman.

I didn't think Chrisman was very sympathetic on the stand--and only he has a reason to lie. Why would Juan lie? It makes no sense.

And YES! I DO think that Chrisman's cop friends tried to stage the scene for Chrisman's benefit! I don't think that the general public hasn't heard of cases of dirty cops.

I hope he tones it down for the rest of his closing argument today--and we do get to hear from Juan again.

Juan will get a rebuttal. The state has the burden of proof so they always go last. He was done yesterday with his initial closing but he will use his rebuttal to rebut anything Mehrens said in his closing. It has to be within the scope of the defense's closing argument. I am sure he will have plenty to rebut. The jury will probably get the case near the end of the day.

I think the e-mail was about when he told the jury yesterday that Juan said they can look up "apprehension" but they couldn't relaly do that. He was prob. explaining to Juan what he meant and why he said it.

But why is it sealed? Argh.
