i have never been so thankful for JSS. can you imagine what JA's trial would have been like with this judge?

verdict not read today because defendant, #RichardChrisman lives too far from court, was not going to make it in time @12News

Figured. Is there a time limit on verdict reading? It's like 4:30 comes and everything SHUTS DOWN. It's like these people never heard of over time. And it would have given the judge plenty of time to issue that Allen Charge...

Oh boy, someone predicted this, was that you Meebee? They said it's probaby cause Chrisman couldn't make it to court....

Felony 6 animal cruelty can have a 2 year sentence.........but we don't now if they found guilty or not guilty.
Whatever happens, Juan has a 2nd go at it. He can tighten any loose ends. Whatever the case, the Hispanic community and others rallied when Daniel was shot, I'd expect the same to happen with the hung verdict.......

FIGURES.........

Let's do everything we possibly can to make sure the defendant is not inconvenienced in any way, shape or form. Couldn't he get a police escort? His cop friends were going to be there anyway right? Oh yeah, perhaps they live too far out too.

Question: Since some judges are elected, do unions such as PLEA contribute to their re-election bid?

By all means, cannot discomfort him at all, the jury in waiting for him, either.

bbm

I think this is the main reason, you know the jury and their "child-care issues", I"m sure someone said no I can't wait I have to pick up my kids or I have to go to my kid's soccer practice or....I have to cook dinner...

I think it will be guilty of animal cruelty.

Has Chrisman ever been incarcerated or was he always on his own? I wonder what questions are going through his mind right now.

I feel so sorry for the family right now.

Bernina, unfortunately if it's hung on the murder charge, I don't think they'll re-try it, IMO. Would cost too much and no certainty that they would get conviction second time....

Probably. I read the other day they gave money to Bill Montgomery's election campaign.

Hmmmm. Mexico? Maybe Canada.....

Yeah, he's got a head start of how many hours? Did anyone take his passport?

I disagree. Juan doesn't really play by the same rules other prosecutors do. He goes at every case full force. He rarely ever plea bargains. I just can't see him dropping it. It wasn't an acquittal. It was hung. He at least got some jurors to believe him.

I asked Monica Lindstrom why the judge didn't give the Allen Charge and here's her reply:

Monica Lindstrom ‏@monicalindstrom 2m

@MeeBee23 maybe jury said it wouldn't help or did not ask for help, maybe J put it in writing but didn't tell the public #richardchrisman

Sigh. Am emotionally exhausted right now. Well, we predicted one thing right...we were pretty sure they were hung on something but we thought they would work through it....guess not.
