:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:

NO WAY!!!! He's stuck! He's gonna have peanut butter all over the place!:jail:
He's been tried and convicted, now all he needs is sentencing. I think PLEA pulled a lot a string to get him out on bond before, takes a deep pocket to be out with the charges that he had on him. But, there goes his freedom, too bad, so sad.

"Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery issued the following statement following Tuesday's verdict:

http://www.kpho.com/story/23385834/jurors-find-aggravating-factors-in-chrisman-trial

>snipped<

"First, I want to thank the members of the jury for their time and effort. Nevertheless, with the jury unable to reach a verdict on the counts charging Second Degree Murder and Animal Cruelty, we will assess the case and determine the most appropriate course of action. One possible course of action is to retry the remaining counts, which is permitted under our state and federal constitutions.

"As for the guilty verdict on the Aggravated Assault count, it is important to note that, but for the personal courage and honorable conduct of Phoenix Police Officer Sergio Vergillo, Richard Chrisman would not have been held accountable for even this unlawful act. Officer Vergillo displayed the type of character we expect of those who take an oath to protect and defend our laws and to carry out their duties faithfully and impartially.

"In situations where one police officer is called upon to hold a fellow officer accountable for wrongdoing, it is those who are truly loyal to the call of service who step up and are worthy of our trust and confidence.

"Today's verdict, while incomplete, is proof that no one is above the law and that all who violate the public's trust will be held accountable."

There is access to a PDF from PLEA, but I can't access it!

That was a wonderful statement from the DA--OFFICER VIRGILIO displayed a lot of integrity and courage. As a citizen I am so proud of him. He exemplifies what LE should be.

Thank you Officer V

Thanks Bernina!

I really can't type what I'd like to respond to PLEA (although I started to. lol).

I will just console myself that he was convicted of one charge now, and hopefully two more down the road.

2nd guessing the conviction. It was a "Domestic Disturbance" call, NOT a "Domestic Violence" call as PLEA so deftly put it. It had an urgency of 2, not 1...and then I started tasting bile coming up my throat. That organization needs to be disbanded, they're nothing but thugs with badges, covering each other's behind. What remained of their integrity, combined, just tanked to an all time low.
And how sweet that they refer to the killer as "Rich". Well, he's going to be nothing but a number now. Maybe a few of his cronies will be able to join him soon........

AURGH! I can't believe this state allows such GARBAGE to take residence!

Will they fund his next defense, I wonder?

I hope we hear from the jury what the split was on 2nd degree (and the animal cruelty) before too long. I'll even settle for a tweet from just one of them. lol

Found out where I saw the charges and the sentences times.

A second-degree murder conviction carries a 15- to 22-year prison sentence, but mitigating factors could reduce it to 10 years. Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, the charge for allegedly putting the gun to Rodriguez's head, carries a 5- to 15- year sentence. The misdemeanor animal cruelty charge carries no jail time.

MaryEllen Resendez ‏@maryellenabc15 5m
#JuanMartinez arguing 3 aggravating factors:
1. Gun was used
2. #Chrisman was a PD officer
3. The victim/Family suffered substantial loss

Hi all, I had to go so I couldn't watch the aggravation with you all, but just got back and watched it on youtube. So relieved jury came back with PROVEN!!!! I am feeling better about this jury than I did before, seeing as how the ones who know what Richard Chrisman really did held their ground and did not give in. Thank you! It could have come back Charge 1 - not guilty, the other two hung, then where would be?? With nothing. So I was going on a bit of a rant after the verdict/non-verdicts...LOL...but feel better now. I hope Elvira will have some peace after this.

I was just reading over the posts, and saw this tweet from MaryEllen from ABC15, am I imagining or did she get that COMPLETELY wrong? I listened to the judge's jury instructions....it clearly stated the only aggravating circumstance the State gave was that the family suffered from emotional harm. Where did she get the other stuff from??

His behavior is totally uncalled for. I don't think I've seen a Judge make so many facial expressions to show his disgust, disdain, disbelief, etc., in a court in front of a jury.
:stormingmad:

I think that maybe that's just the way he is. I've noticed him making those expressions towards the defense, too, so I really don't think his expressions are reflective of any bias. Like sometimes I kind of roll my eyes if my eyes are feeling tired, but I just do it subconciously, don't even realize it, and then ppl like my family point it out to me! LOL!

Oct. 18th, 8:30 a.m., sentencing.

Geevee, did you hear if it's sentencing or something else? B/c I heard the judge saying a lot of mumbled things (sound not good), I thought he said it was like a pre-sentence type of thing? I dunno...confused.

i shall get my tiny violin and play him the saddest saddest song :violin:

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

He sure wasn't crying when Elvira was on the stand or that 911 call was being played as she sat crying on the stand. Don't waste your energy crying Chrisman, you'll need it where you're going....

PLEA PDF response to conviction........try NOT to throw up:

http://www.kpho.com/link/657792/plea-reacts-to-chrisman-verdict

OMG, no, I did throw up in my mouth right now. That is so disgusting. They trashed EVERYONE, including the jurors. Trashed Vergillo, trashed prosecutors, trashed jurors. Oh, let's not forget - TRASHED DANNY.

I cannot BELIEVE they literally wrote in this very "formal" document, Danny was a meth-using 🤬🤬🤬🤬. :banghead::banghead: That is just insane.

And what they forget to mention is that those jurors who sat for many weeks in the "climate-controlled room," listened to EVERYTHING and found him GUILTY ON AGG. ASSAULT.

I just watched it on YT, he said "I will set time for entering judgement and sentencing for Oct. 18th, counsel and I have talked, the purpose of that is to get the pre-sentence report, it's not anticipated there will be a sentencing (think he misspoke the word 'sentencing' then) witness hearing that day and we will schedule it on that day at 8:30..." then tells RC under the law there's still a range of sentencing possibilities and that RC wouldn't be being uncooperative if under advice of cousel he doesn't speak to them but they will contact him. Then he excused the jurors and adjourned.

I think a pre-sentence report is usual, I don't know if it's usual for an attny to not have his client talk to them but I really have no clue about that area of sentencing.
