Presumed Located AZ - Diane Marchetti, 80, Tucson International Airport, 3 Jan 2019 *prosthetic leg, uses a walker*

The Tucson Police Department is asking for assistance in trying to locate and check the welfare of a missing adult, 80-year-old Diane Marchetti. Ms. Marchetti was last seen at the Tucson International Airport on January 3, 2019. Ms. Marchetti is described as a Caucasian female, 5'03", 140 pounds, uses a walker to get around and has a prosthetic right lower leg. She lives in the 10,400 block of East Wayne Moody Ln.

Her family is concerned that she may be running out of her necessary medication. If you know where she is or have seen her, please call 911.

Tucson Police searching for missing elderly female

Why was she at the airport, I wonder? It's very odd that she has been missing for almost a week already.

I would hazard a guess that she was there to catch a plane to somewhere, and her family, knowing she was gone, didn't realize she was missing until she wasn't on a return flight. But that's just a guess.

I hope she's okay.

One thing to note about the Tucson Airport is that it is in the strangest location. The first time I went there I was shocked. It's basically surrounded by homes and businesses. Usually, airports are out off by themselves. Not this one. It is the weirdest thing I have ever seen.
So, she could have just been walking there to watch planes or passing by.

The post on the TPD FB page has not been updated since the 11th, so presumably, there have been new developments.

I wonder about the credibility of the sightings that have been reported. I am very concerned about Ms. Marchetti’s wellbeing.

I hope she is found. There normally is a fair amount of security footage at the airports. I remember another woman missing from an airport. A young woman from Indiana (where I lived) went to Dallas in 2012 for her sister's wedding with her family. As they were getting ready to board to go home she just walked off. She was seen on camera leaving the airport, leaving her bag behind. Her parents said she was a bit down due to a breakup with a boyfriend but otherwise very responsible. For years there was no word. One day I entered her name into Google and there she was with a Facebook page, several years older, back home in Indiana with 3 small children. There was never any word put out that she had been found but based on her posts she appears very happy. Sometimes there is a happy ending.

So she lives in Tucson - alone or with her sister? But she has been seen at a government building? Courthouse? Post office? Property/Tax office?

Has a welfare check been reported at her home? I think that would be needed before calling off the search. JMO

“Tucson Police say they're no longer looking for 80-year-old Diane Marchetti, who was reported missing Jan. 3.

Marchetti was last seen at the Tucson International Airport where TPD says she was arriving from a San Francisco flight. She was supposed to find transportation to her sister's house, but decided not to.

After further investigation, police say Marchetti has done this before, and isn't in danger. She doesn't have dementia or any immediate medical needs ....” (BBM)
