Tucson police are asking for the public's help in finding a woman missing since Thursday.

Elnora Charles, 62, was last seen Thursday driving her white 1980 Chevy Caprice north on North First Avenue from East Fort Lowell Road, said Officer Dallas Wilson, a police spokesman.

The car’s license plate number is 988NRW, Wilson said.

Her car was found abandoned Saturday morning on Mount Lemmon, he said.

“Knowing where she and her car have been over the last few days might help us locate where she is now,” Wilson said.

Charles takes medication and it is believed that she did not have it with her before she went missing, he said. She is 5-foot-1, weighs 170 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.

(My opinion, but I'm always frustrated when LE doesn't give a description of a missing person's ethnicity from the get-go. It immediately helps potential witnesses and later, searchers, recall and find the missing person. From her picture, Ms. Charles is African-American. Hoppy)

Just listened to the news right now and it was mentioned that her car was found on Mt. Lemmon here, but no sign of the owner.

A Tucson woman who has been missing since mid-November has reportedly been spotted twice in Midtown but police have yet to locate her.

Authorities believe that Elnora Charles, 62, is not taking prescribed medication as necessary, said Sgt. Mark Robinson, a Tucson Police Department spokesman, on Thursday.

“We are concerned for her welfare,” Robinson said.

A friend of the family spotted Charles recently in the area of East 22nd Street and South Craycroft Road — the same area where another person spotted her about a week ago, Robinson said.

The family friend did not realize that she was still missing at the time.

and

It is believed that she is using the Sun Tran bus system to get around.

The investigation into Charles' disappearance is open and was last reviewed in March, but there was no new information nor sightings, said Sgt. Fabian Pacheco a spokesman for the Tucson Police Department.

"We have a theory regarding her disappearance, however no identified person of interest in the investigation," Pacheco said. However, "due to the sensitive nature of the case, we are not at liberty to share our theory."
