Dang I missed 40 pages or almost 12 hours today! do you know that is wild? 40 pages in 11 hours? lol

I know -- I know :boohoo: I am so tired --

did I miss TS being interviewed by NG today?

Should I try to read the last half of thread 9 and 17 pages of thread 10 tonight?
Anything big?

TAW is running around crying but from what I can tell the Smiths did not do anything wrong in that adoption. TAW had notice of the hearing but says he was FORCED to work out of state and not able to attend. I don't know what his priorities were but if it were me and it was a hearing about termination of parental rights I would quit me job and be there. He seems to have a case of sour grapes. I am glad the Smiths have H. She seems to be the best choice of the parents she was stuck with. BTW, her mother seems fine with the arrangement.

My highest interest is in every child being placed in the most caring and loving situation. I have no bias about H's options, as I have never known any of the people involved. That said:

I don't think it is at all clear that H's father actually had notice of the hearing. If you read his version, he says he was out of state travelling for his work, as a musician maybe?, and to pay for Hannah's support maybe? He states that they knew how to reach him and did not, and that they knew how to reach his parents and did not. According to him, Jack claimed that he HAD called TAW's parents and they didn't want anything to do with H, so TAW pulled out his phone on the spot and called his mom in Jack's presence, essentially calling Jack's bluff. Jack turned beet red and refused to talk further. He also says that H's mother told him she was fighting for custody herself and he believed her. This turned out to be a deliberate falsehood intended as a ruse to mislead him. (can we say Logan?) This is all paraphrased from the article in the Examiner.

I'm not verifying the truthfullness of ANYONE's story here, but it seems fair to consider both sides, especially as we are seeing beyond all doubt that TS and JS have no problem lying when it serves their purposes in stripping a child of his/her parents.

Tammi asked God to strike her dead if she's lyin', and we haven't heard from her since.

:floorlaugh: okay that was worth logging on for after too long of a day--thank you Bean!

I notice TS called Gabriel "that kid" on her NG telephone interview tonight and then she caught herself and changed it to "that baby".

ETA: Oops make that Friday night's NG. Insomnia strikes again.

 Try to stay on thread #10 until I get caught up. K? Thx. And as of 34 minutes ago, "you know who" is still alive and well on FB.

BBM

For a minute I thought that you were referring to Voldemort....

OK, so the Smiths own clinics in San Antonio as well as Tennessee. What are the chances that they have trucks or something that go from location to location? Maybe she had someone meet Elizabeth in texas and get the baby to TN that way?

  • #427
As a closing argument this evening, I just posted in my status update on FB "Stupid is as stupid does." (No, I'm not friends with the Smiths...lol)

G'night! Hopefully I can squeak out some mommy time tomorrow! :D

ETA: Why can't I have something nice in my signature like mamaeb??? Oh well... ;)

Uhmm....and just how much diligence do you believe the state's attorney DOES exercise in being sure the notices actually do REACH the recepients? C'mon, realistically now.

I happen to know of MANY cases through my work as a child advocate that were intentionally circumvented through misinformation. Happens ALL THE TIME. Obviously, so much so that the Smiths thought they would skate on this one. The references to "underground" help show how common it is to give people advice of how to CIRCUMVENT the laws in this area.

So now you are accusing the State of Tn of defrauding biological parents?

What you are not getting is this... The State had an obligation to notify him of a trial to terminate his rights. No one else! If he was defrauded it was by the State of TN and the district attorneys office who handles it! But I do not for 1 minute believe that happened! AND it has never been anyones obligation to notify a grandparent (Travis' parents) of any pending trial, They have absolutely no standing in it.

How could Tammie have possibly interfered with the State notifying him of his rights being terminated? It is the States responsibility to locate the parent or make an attempt to regardless of what Tammie says his last address was. Do you honestly believe the States attorney takes her word for it and calls it a day? How many adoptions do you think would be overturned in TN if that were the case?

was this a foster care adoption ?

with a foster care adoption, they go through all the steps to locate the father. letters, phone calls public notice etc

now 35 years ago when my brother in law adopted my neice,
they filed the paper work, my sister listed the last know address (not sure if she knew where he was or not) ran it in the paper,

went to court, my ex brother in law did not show up, my new brother in law adopted my neice

(that was over 35 years ago everybody has kissed and made up now lol)

to this day my ex brother law still says my sister did him dirty so i dont know
but it all worked out

from what I have read.. they have said that the mom (their daughter) just signed the rights of the baby over, lied to the dad and pretended he had vanished... even though they knew where he was. Not that this was done through the state.
Can you link where they said this was done through the state?

I was a tn foster parent for over 5 years, i watched a lot of cases, judges do there best to make sure there are no family members being left out of the process

we just dont know if this was private adoption or state adoption

That was my first thought too.....the bedspread is the same in all the pics so those are at the hotel....and she has framed family-type photos on the nightstand....who does THAT at a hotel?! And....who is in them?!

BBM

I do. I always take photos with me. I have two frame sets I use. One holds three photos and are always the same (wedding, DH, DD). The other I change periodically - newer photos of DD.

I put them in that exact spot - on the bedside table. I also take a candle and few other things to make the room homier and remind me of loved ones. I have an oriental tray that fits in my makeup bag that I set out a small tin box that is pretty and has a traveling altar in it.

If I am going to be gone longer I take a few more things. A small desk set thingy to make me feel at home at the desk with my laptop. I have done this for years.

When DH travels for business he has framed photos as well. If he is there longer than a day he puts them out - he said he puts them on top of the tv or desk.

Yes it was a foster care or kinship care adoption after the State took custody of "H" and placed her in their home.

Clearly the TRUTH & Ms Tammi S., are strangers.
We will have to rely on the thorough investigation by LE & those who have Gabriel's best interests at heart. We should also hope Logan's family & LE contribute to pressuring for the truth & the safe return of their offspring!I pray that EJ will have a conscience & allow her son to grow up with his loving family
of which clearly EJ is not a part!(not loving)

When the State moves to terminate your parental rights you have the legal right to surrender them or go to trial. It sounds like the mother surrendered hers and that they asked him to do the same which he refused so the State acted to sever them.

We do know that it was not a private adoption because TW said himself that the State was involved, there was an open court case and that the State worker didnt return his calls.

then i hope for the child sake, all the paper work was done properly and bio father name was not left off intentionally and they ran in the paper for the courts

That did not happen in this case because he admitted himself that he attended some hearings. Then he says he left town. If he was traveling I am sure the State did what they are legally obligated to do to notify him.

if he left town, i believe they would still have to run it the paper before the court date. did they adopt in TN or AZ , did they up and move in the middle of the adoption
