It could be a number of things including low funding, or they might have too many cases right now and can't offer the time or man power. UGH!!!
If we can find this family a similar group it would help tremendously. These groups have resources that we don't have and they know what to do.

I feel like a chicken with my head cut off. I'm trying so hard to do anything to help and I feel like it's so insignificant. I'm totally unorganized, and I have no idea where to start or how to do anything. I'm having to wing it all the way.

I just sent the how to for the donation fund to MissingGabe. The family would appreciate info on how to set up a reward account.

I know we have members here who have lost their loved one's. Perhaps there is someone that can give more info/insight to how to do this.

Per that link:
Visit a local branch and ask to speak to an account specialist especially if one has set up one of these acct's before.

Bring documents like the child's SS#, a police report and newspaper clippings about the case. Things that will verify that this is valid cause.

Choose someone to control the donation fund. Some banks offer third-pary control through the bank. This can help alleviate fears of donators that their money will be misused.

Ask to have the account set up to accept donations from anyone. Have it set to allow online transfers, checks, direct deposits, walk in donations at all branches nationwide.

Keep track of every penny in and out of the account. Choose someone to take on this task and make sure the money is being spent the way it needs to be.


As soon as we get word that the family has set one up, we sleuthers can get it out to media outlets, FB, MS, etc. so people can start donating.
I saw a post on Gabe's FB group, the lady wanted to donate $1,000.00 to this cause. This will help the family out tremendously.

I don't know a whole lot about these organizations either. But what I posted was my best guess. With the economy the way it is, and huge donation funds being set up for Haiti, etc. I'm sure these groups are getting A LOT less funding than usual. Ouch.

The organization didn't turn them away. It is no negative action or reflection on the organization, or on any party. We just need to sit tight on that right now, and see if we can identify WSers in SA who can post flyers.

If that hasn't been done yet I will go order them now. If they have, can you send me the order number so that I can call and make sure I can pay for it?

Also, which flyer do you want to print? There are a lot of them circulating. I only have the most recent one with the 3 pictures from the hotel and REWARD at the top. If there is another one you want to print, can you please send me the link so I make sure and order the right one?

It is about how to get a donation fund set up at a local bank. I've seen people posting on the FB page that they want to donate. So it would help the family tremendously to get something set up as soon as possible. This donation fund can be used to help raise the reward, pay for a PI, print flyers, or any other needed supplies to get Gabe's info out there. It can also be used for the families needs as I'm sure some of them are unable to work right now.

I posted a number to a local San Antonio print shop a little bit ago. I will edit to add it to this post for you.

BeanE I know there are somethings you know that we can't know. I understand that. I was just unsure how they were run in general.

lp34, I just bumped a post from our beloved BeanE with links to the current flier that was released yesterday by Logan's family. This is the one we are using.
Color would be great, but is much more expensive. Anyone that is choosing to donate towards this effort, do what you can, don't feel obligated to do the color prints. We need this out everywhere ASAP.

Ives and other locals that are willing to go get the fliers, can you let us know where we are on that so lp34 can get his/her donation in.
I think the best way to do this is for anyone that is donating time to go get these fliers and get them out, if you can post the location of your nearest FedEx Kinkos as well as how many fliers you would like to pick up.
We don't want to bombard someone with more fliers than they can distribute, and we also don't want anyone donating towards printing the fliers and then the fliers not getting picked up.
