I really don't think so.
Thanks, just making sure. I really can't squint well enough to be sure and if I didn't ask it would have kept me up all night.

Police: Couple May Know More About Disappearance
Source Reveals Why Tammi, Jack Smith Are Now Person's Of Interest

This case is just so sad.

Reading over the above article seems to confirm many sleuther's observations that the Smiths take advantage of those whose backgrounds are questionable. This article has quotes from his stepson, relating how they came to be the adoptive parents of the little girl.

Agreed -- BBM IMO TS made this explicitly evident by her own admissions on the internet-- opportunistic parasites -- sorry, I am disgusted by this couple -- mostly her -- I'm shutting up now

I have admitted in the past to watching NG, but I am afraid it's a combination of that train-wreck syndrome and the fact that I care so much for what she is supposed to stand for-- children, those without voices, and justice -- IDK but she possibly allows her emotions to cloud her logic/judgement, especially true in Gabriel's case it seems to me

I live in Tempe, and the San Tan area is about 20-30 miles from my home. I think the San Tan paper is a smaller newspaper that doesn't update their site like larger local ones like azcentral.com or evtrib.com.

Here are my possible guesses as to what the "San Tan" paper could be:

http://www.santanvalleytoday.com/

http://www.santansun.com/

http://queencreekindependent.az.newsmemory.com/
Unfortunately, it seems the only way to view their current " E-Edition" is to be a subscriber to the paper.

I wish I could help more, but I think we're going to have to wait for the OP to come back and clarify what they meant.

I would also like to add that if anyone is lurking and knows ANYTHING about baby Gabriel, please call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. You can remain completely anonymous and your call may help bring baby Gabriel to a place of safety.

Do any of my posts need to be removed?
Not that I've seen. I only saw that one and didn't want anybody to get in trouble.
As weird as this case is, it can use all the eyes it can get.

I think it's a travesty she is interviewing the Smith's sympathetically when they have lied about the dad and tried to take his kid away! That's just very very wrong of NG

I see it a totally different way. NG is letting the slack out on the line an the Smiths have taken the bait and are swimming with glee in all the attention. (On NG, she was practically gushing last the other night saying that she only had a couple hours of sleep. If that were me, I would be NOT happy about losing sleep.) Nancy is getting them to let their guard down with her and say stuff that in the end they may not be able to substantiate. Nancy knows what she is doing....believe me she knows something will go wrong and she will be there with all these taped interviews will/might play against them or the mother. It's coming to head real soon.

I pray this baby is still alive.

Me, my husband and our 3 year old daughter have been looking for a military wife in California who would like to become a surrogate for us, so we can have a baby.

[from the experience project]

I wonder why would she specify 'military wife' and 'california' when she lived/lives in Arizona?

Ok, that's weird. I could come up with some strange reasons for 'military wife' (maybe, I don't know - could be the mom and baby would be covered by insurance - hubbies gone so the woman has time - the woman might be vulnerable/lonely?), but why California?

I'd say she was just fishing, but I suspect there is a reason.

wonder why TF's oldest child is not in her MS 'top' friends ... only her two middle kids and 37 others that are mostly pop stars

oooh yeah, the insurance thing makes sense since on other sites, she did ask others if they had ins.

now the California thing ... well, we've recently learned that she may have connections there - hmm, or maybe it's cheaper there to give birth or something? I have no idea about the pricing ... just a thought

There's also a rather large Air Force Base (Luke Air Force Base) in the Metro Phoenix area, just west of the city of Glendale, iirc.

I don't know the context of this quote, perhaps she was replying to someone fitting that description? If not, it seems strange, but I admit to not knowing anything about the surrogate trade -- I suppose the "married" part is safer, and California is sort of stereotyped for being "free minded" -- the military part is perhaps wishful thinking for someone on the move, without strong roots? IDK just guessing --it's after midnight, and a long day :P

I became an Arizona Realtor when I moved out here, since my passion has always been in real estate. I love buying old properties and making them new again.

[from J's MS]

that explains where some $$ comes from & also how the house got built (kinda)

no, she wasn't replying to someone - it is a front page blurb that she posted there in I think Nov./08 IIRC

it's way after midnight here - almost 4 a.m. - I'm surprised anyone's on here with me! lol

Dang ... maybe she is just trying to get by on the cheap. She's really sounding like some sleazy broker to me. I can't see the birth being any cheaper here (I'm in California) - could be something related to military insurance and hospitals or ???

California - yeah, maybe just a convenient place for her to travel and not close enough to have to visit that often? Maybe adoption laws are different? Father's rights?

Military - maybe she's hoping the hubby won't come back home or since he's away she has more coersion power? Isn't there something strange called a 'military marriage' also - it differs somehow from a regular marriage? Maybe the hubby wouldn't have as many rights or something?

It's almost 2 here in AZ and I'm about to hit the hay soon. But before I do....

The Smith's demeanor in all their interviews really bother me. I mean, they held this precious baby boy, hugged him, watched him laugh, watched him cry, and yet they seem less bothered by his disappearance than most of the posters here at WS. Heck, I didn't know the baby at all and I'm very upset and bothered by how his mother treated him. Why don't they show any sort of concern in any of their public appearances?

Might be that the surrogacy laws are more favorable there, too. I think I heard that somewhere, since California has so many surrogate births.
