I get the impression that they know Isabel is alive and probably where she is. I can't explain why I think that, perhaps because of complete lack of anger over being scrutinized by LE, the words but lack of corresponding affect when Sergio says "why was she targeted?". There's no outrage, no strong emotion - they're just so - well - flat in affect. But also, I wonder if Becky is seriously sedated.

When Ann (why did they pick her to do the interview? She's the worst!) opened and they said "hello" it was almost like a rehearsed response from the parents (pretty much in unison).

In a way, it made me feel better that perhaps she is not deceased.

They seem exhausted to me. Shocked and exhausted. They reminded me of a lot of parents of missing kids who turned out to be totally innocent.

You know this makes sense to me. My mother was married to my step-dad for 20 years and he is hispanic. He was always the more tender of the two. He used to cry over my brother (who has asperger's) when we were little kids, and he was the one who did the laundry and would make us pancakes in the morning. My mom was always the boss in the relationship.

They looked sedated to me (rightfully so). They looked genuinely upset. Like they were cycling through the stages of grief over and over and quickly. The looked lost, confused, and angry that this happened to them. I believe them now, whereas before I was on the fence.

I think for us here, we almost want the parents to be guilty, otherwise the alternative is, that some stranger can just as likely walk into OUR houses and take our most beloved family members (our precious children) right out from under our noses.

Also, I thought the video of little Isa was absolutely precious and heartbreaking all in one. She is a beautiful child and unfortunately I think that is why she was taken. Someone with an unhealthy disgusting predilection for children saw her, wanted her for himself and basically stopped at nothing to get what he desired. I hope he rots in hell. I hope he is caught. I hope it is not too late and this little girl is returned to the people that obviously love her.

JMOO, but I think her brothers had absolutely NOTHING to do with this! I wish people wouldn't discuss that. I have a 14yo ds and he isn't even thinking along those lines yet. Yes, I know it can happen, but I really do not think this is the case here. :moo::moo:

Thank you for this post.

I really, really want to believe the parents are innocent. I don't want another child dying at the hands of the people supposed to be protecting them, and if a stranger took Isabel then there is still a chance she is alive.

That being said, the main thing that throws up flags for me is how the family said LE was focusing on them. It made it seem to me that LE really is focusing on them a little more than is routine. They really didn't talk about any sort of parallel investigating going on (and all I have to go on is what hey say/don't say). Also, there was no real denial, by either of them. That doesn't necessarily throw up flags, but it is interesting.

Of course LE is going to focus on them. LE also focused on Marc Klaas, Ed Smart, Mark Lunsford, Danielle Van Dam's parents, etc., etc. They have to focus on the last people to see Isabel. But I believe them when they say they are conducting parallel investigations in different areas.

Why does the father shut his eyes when he talks.. IIRC Susan Smith did the same..JMHO

Susan Smith had a totally different affect to me. This guy reminds me more of Ed Smart. He also closed his eyes a lot. People also thought he was guilty as heck:

Wrapping what in a towel?

Haha I'm sorry, my iTouch is being a brat tonight!
I meant to quote the poster who was wondering what LE was bringing into the house yesterday afternoon.

Shelby,
Do you happen to know the approximate size of this object ? TIA

I did not get a good look, small enough to carry-smaller than a basketball IIRC.

I guess i don't know much about this "stepcousin" guy. :( Now i have a sick feeling too.
I do remember an "uncle" speaking out right away. (I wish he wouldn't have said he was her uncle if that's not really what he was. I hate it when people do that.) Anyway, is this the guy we're talking about?
How old is the stepcousin? And he lived with them for a while? Has he talked at all or anyone seen him? I feel sick now. :(

Yep, that is the guy. He was the initial spokesperson for the family. And then there was a little bit of complaining from some members of the extended family, on FB, questioning WHO told him to say he was the spokesperson.

And he does not really SEEM to be an actual bio brother of either of the parents, so the 'uncle' moniker may be incorrect, factually.

Never mind, guess I did quote the right poster.

As someone just posted, it could have been a video camera. I wonder if the same set of detectives interviewed each parent and the son?

Are we allowed to discus JM in regard to his criminal record in Florida. I have read some mention of his record, but I haven't heard any details.

I am trying but cannot recall a case where a little girl about Isabel's age was taken and eventually found alive...? The ones I have come across, they are usually killed quickly and found locally, not even well-hidden in some cases.

I don't like to compare cases as I think they are all different, but was more thinking about outcomes, if there are any 5-7 year-old girls who were eventually found alive.

I would say yes we could, only because Nancy Grace had it blown up on the screen during half her show yesterday.

:nurse: do not copy and paste posts from other forums... If it is main stream media by all means link it.. if it is not.... do not post it here. Thanks

And if a link is not allowed here, that means discussion of content at that link is not allowed here.

I do believe we have been down this very road before - so there will be no more warning. If you can't link the site, you can't discuss it.

Ah. I haven't followed the case very closely. I just decided tonight to find out who this JM is, and then I checked the county courts here in Florida to see whether he'd been a bad boy or just had a few charges. The drug offense from last summer caught my eye. What did Nancy Grace lady have to say about it?

like 12 miles...BUT...AFNI has a location that is 2 miles from Isa's. Does anyone that is local know if the AFNI location at 5451 East Williams Boulevard, Tucson, AZ is a call center?

I googled it earlier and I think it said it was, but I am not local so I have no idea.
