Different guy. The one on TV yesterday was an actual uncle of Becky's (LR). The one on the news appears (IMO) to be a sibling's stepchild to Becky (JM). There is NOTHING suspicious about LR, although some wonder why he said he doesn't know anything about knocking on doors the morning Isa disappeared, when I believe it is just because it was not him. I think he knows he is the ONLY uncle, and probably does know who JM is and even that he misidentified (IMO) himself to the media and the neighbor as Isa's uncle.

I agree that LR knows JM, and that JM misidentified as Isa's uncle.

I believe LR is Becky's brother, not uncle. NG also introduced him as such. I am fairly sure LR is featured in two of JM's pics captioned "primos," so if they are actual cousins as JM calls it, JM is Isa's first cousin once removed.

[ Disclaimer: 1. I am not sure of the relevancy . 2. I am always confused about who we can and cannot sleuth or discuss in this case.]

As far as the alleged "scrutiny" on the part of LE toward JM? I am sure TPD would say that they are looking into everyone equally.

To me NG is a source once removed, as she only names a "source" when she reports that JM is being investigated. Did she name JM as the person belonging to the "criminal" records?

Here's what her reporter says

"This is what we`re hearing from our sources here in Tucson, that police are scrutinizing this individual. He does have a criminal background, so he has had contact with police before. At this point, it is unclear exactly what sorts of questions they might be asking him or exactly what that scrutiny could consist of."

My questions: What kind of sources? neighbors? other media?
Okay, you're concluding that because he's had a DUI he's dealt with police in general before? (um duh?)
So, your "source" only says that he's under scrutiny, and you don't know anything else?

NG transcript reporter:

"Now, police have not said specifically about this individual, but they have said repeatedly that the family is being cooperative. We can assume that that would include this cousin, at this point. It is unclear exactly if they`ve spoken with him, and if they have, what sorts of questions they may have asked."

My questions: Okay, since LE has stated in general that family is cooperative, you are assuming the cousin is too?
Okay, but you said your source said he's under scrutiny, but still not sure if LE has spoken to him?
Okay, how does your source know he's under scrutiny if your source does not know if he has even been interviewed?

I also note that they never connected this person to JM, or his previous appearance in the media.

Just sharing my pov.

It all depends on the family. I have two young siblings a little older than Isabel and one of them is very independent and goes to sleep on his own, and the other sometimes gets tucked in and sometimes goes alone. Isabel is old enough to say prayers on her own. I would just really like a clearer picture on what actually happened at bedtime.

OTOH, I have a friend with 12 year old boys (twins) and he still puts them to bed every night and starts their prayers with "Sun has set..." (some wiccan one) and then the boys mumble the rest of it. I am generally not in the boys room but hear from down the hall.

Personally, I think 12 year olds should be able to put themself to bed, and should not need to be reminded to brush their teeth or say their prayers... I am not sure about a 6 year old.

I'm pretty sure I was putting myself to bed around 6 all by myself. I'd say goodnight to my parents downstairs and head on up. I think this varies by kid/family a lot.

What makes you think they got the dogs from the Humane Society?

I would think that if dogs were from the Humane Society, they most likely would have had dog licences and vaccination proof. When one adopts from the Humane Society, one must have these things, and then most cities track renewals, and cite those who do not renew these things. Tucson Animal Care seems to treat dog regulations very seriously. JMO

OK thank you. I still find it creepy to put childrens pictures on a dating site.

As a former patron of dating sites, and a single mom, I always worried about the type of men that seek out mothers with little girls. The questionnaires ALWAYS ask if you have children, and I certainly did not want to LIE, so I answered that "yes" and in my "essay" I said that I was the mother of an amazing 8-year-old, but avoided specifying that my child was a girl. I would N~E~V~E~R have put my child's photo up.

The pervs managed to find me anyway.

The dog in the photo that can be seen through the open door looks EXACTLY like JM's dog pictured several times on his FB page. I always assumed it was his dog in the doorway, just never thought much of it til now for some reason.

ETA: NOT the same dog, no white patch on chest. Thank you to posters who clarified this!

I am going to focus this post on my first impression of the sketch. Here is someone in his 20's with a noticable receding hairline, big bushy eyebrows, and far set apart eyes.

IMO It was no coincidence that the sketch had a receding hairline. IMO It is an unusual feature for one who was described as in his 20s. Even JVM noticed it.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Those are the parents of Isabel Celis. She disappeared about ten days ago, but ten miles away, just yesterday, a man the cops are hunting for right now broke into a home where three little girls were sleeping. And cops say he sexually assaulted at least one of them.

He appears to have short, dark hair. And we`re going to show you in a second a composite sketch. He was wearing dark shorts, glasses, a sleeveless shirt, dark-colored glasses, as a matter of fact. So these are distinguishing marks. Look, he has a receding hair line, clean cut, clean- shaven. Unbelievable.

I can message you some info. It would take too much space here lol. GRs aren't bad dogs at all, but there is just too much irresponsible breeding going on.

The same thing happened with Irish Setters several years back. Ruined a beautiful breed for a while. jmo

IMO the dog in doorway is the same color, but seems to have a more shepherd mix look. There are videos with better views, but it could be the same dog. We only catch a glimpse.

The Celis dog doesn't seem to have a white chest like JMs dog.

The dogs do look similar and could possible be the same, or from the same litter, or just look alike.

Found video of dog here: http://abcnews.go.com/US/missing-tucson-girl-isabel-celis-surveillance-videos-hold/story?id=16210060#.T6PsftUQLI2

Here is a picture:

Definitely a mix, so it is hard to predict how it will act based on breed.

(and OT - but an FYI - According the American Temperament Testing Society, Golden Retrievers are more aggressive than Pitts.)

Thanks for posting that. It looked like a German Shepherd to me but what do I know. I'm a cat person. lol

Yes.

JM's dog has a remarkable white marking up the chest, the neck, straight to the muzzle. While the Celis' dog may be the same tan color, its more of shep-mix with longer hair and different ears.

Just went back and looked again, and noticed the white patch too. Sorry, I was going more by the 'look' of its ears and general appearance and jumped to conclusions :blushing:

Yeah now that I looked at better pics of FB, They are NOT the same. His looks more like a pit, or mixed pit, because of the colors.

I remember also thinking that one of the dogs could have been JM's. I think it would be very interesting if JM's dog lived at the Celis home, and it is a good thing to discuss.

I hate to bring this up, since it was already discussed, but I can not find it. The camera was aimed at the sky? Or is this just someones thoughts? tia
