Did Nancy indicate how they know the camera is not working on the Celis' home?
Why would they even bring it up at all if they knew for certain it was not working and irrelevant. I don't remember them saying it wasn't working but i did change the channel a few times so I might of missed it.
It does seem silly to make an issue of it if they knew it wasn't an issue though.

Edit to add- from NG that ~n/t~ posted above. "So the question of, you know, when that camera was broken, the last time it was operable, we still don`t know. But it`s interesting that that is there and pointing toward the sky."

Ugh. Who knows.

Was the gate locked when the father found Isabel missing? Or has it been said?

  • #883
We all know there are specifics that LE is not commenting on:

Who put Isabella to bed
Who was at the house that night
Who called 911
Results of LDT
FBI canine activity

Since LE will not speak about those parts of the case, because as they stated they do not want to harm their investigation-I can't imagine why the parents would.

I think that, even if it wasn't working, it's odd to have a security camera pointed at the sky. If it were mine, I'd have it pointing at access points cause how would an intruder know that it's not working?

Maybe somebody at some point was trying to fix it and just left it that way.

I agree-I don't know why it would be left pointing that way.

Wonder if there's a picture from some point before Isa went missing that shows the camera and how it's pointed. That would be the thing I'd be interested in seeing.

<OT: the worst thing about purebred GRs is the high incidence of cancer in the lines... 50% - 65% of them die from cancer. Mine did. Too heartbreaking. :frown:>

Respectfully edited. With all due respect, there is very little evidence of any kind known to the public regarding Isabel's disappearance. Personally, I find the parents to be evasive and secretive, and I strongly suspect that they are hiding something of major importance to the case.

As for comments about the family made by relatives - I'll take them with a grain of salt. No one is going to say anything bad about parents or the family of a missing child, but that doesn't mean that everything is rosy behind closed doors. Every family - yours, mine, and everyone else here - has secrets and skeletons in the closet that they'd prefer to keep hidden from others. Unfortunately, when a child goes missing or a family has to deal with any type of crime involving a loved one, the sometimes awful, painful truth comes out and figures into the case.

I trust that LE and the FBI knows a lot more about the family, friends, and acquaintances than we do and that they are leaving no stone unturned in their investigation. The truth will come out in due time, and I will remain open to any and all possibilities about what has happened to this six-year-old and why. :moo:

First, I want to make it perfectly clear, I respect your opinion highly Bette, and others who do not agree with my own opinions about any case. I have never been the type of poster who expects other posters to be in lockstep with me and it will never happen as long as I am here either.

But I can only stand by how I feel based on what we know at this time.

Maybe it is because I have been around this same block too many times over the past several years and have seen the same things posted about family members who turned out to be innocent as the day is long. I was cautious in those cases and I will continue to be until and unless there is something pointing to a family member as a suspect.

This is just what "I" do. I dont expect anyone to follow suit either. Everyone here is entitled to their own heartfelt opinions.

But, IMHOO, the way "I" look at it only, it does a disservice to the victim including Isa because she loved her family dearly and in my heart, I truly feel they would have all died for her, and would never harm her. I think about 'what would Isa say if she could read what is being written about her family?"

Especially when there hasnt been one hint that Isa was ever abused in any manner by anyone. This is not a family with domestic violence issues or a family that has had CPS come out because they abused or neglected their children.

But there again, this is only my opinion, but I stand by it... as I am sure others stand by their differing opinions about this case or any other one that is discussed.

IMO

That's why I'm wondering if the Moore security camera has an unobstructed view of the Celis roof. I'm sure LE must have checked if they thought is was a possibility.

Whats Isabel's address again? Can't Google Earth see the top of her house from the past, to know if cameras were pointing to the sky? Or how far back is Google Earth dated? I think that is what others used to zoom in on the house early in this case.

Yes, it was pointed upward toward the sky. It looked broken by appearance like it hadn't worked in a long time. That is also what the Reporter confirmed.

It does seem silly to make an issue of it if they knew it wasn't an issue though.

(snip)

I suppose the issue is whether or not the "intruder" KNEW the camera wasn't working. If they did, there would be no incentive for them to redirect the camera angle to avoid detection. If they did not KNOW if it worked or not, OR if they believed it DID work they would not want it to capture their image.

Some people buy window stickers that say their home is protected by cameras when it isn't, or cheap "phony cameras" that you mount where they are visible that use a battery to power a little red LED to deter intruders/vandals... if their camera once worked, then they may have had warning stickers on the windows that were not removed when the camera stopped working. THIS IS PURE SPECULATION... I DO NOT HAVE ANY IDEA WHETHER THEY HAD STICKERS, however they had a fairly visible camera, which (IMO) precluded the need.

Maybe a stroll with GoogleMan would answer this question?

Moore's security cameras cannot capture any part of the Celis home, as there is a two story home directly between Moore's back of story and Celis' front of home. This camera on the Celis' roof is at the back of the home.

Can someone tell me about "Moore"? What type of business is it? With all this surveillance camera talk, I keep remembering that it was some sort of security company? Is that correct? Do they sell surveillance cameras? It's located right across from Isabel's home, right?

TIA

IT's located a block away. THe back of Moore Security faces a two story house that is on the north side of 12th. The two story house faces the front of the Celis home. The two story house is directly between, and blocks any direct view from Moore. However, Moore cameras did capture the comings and goings on the side street to the west of the Celis home that runs between the Office Max/Party City parking lot, and the comings and goings in the parking lot directly to the east of the two story home and across the street from the Celis home.

Any news from Google man, Lisa?

30 minutes until KVOA live interview with parents.

  • #897
2 and a half days away from all media (due to my busy schedule).. I was hoping to return to the news today and find some break in this case. Perhaps this next interview will help?

What is Isabels address?

Looks to me like they could have picked up activity to the left (as you face the home) of the Celis' house, possibly including a small portion of the structure. They are at 5608, which is NOT the end of the group of businesses in the strip mall...

ETA, the "2-story" building is actually MOSTLY a 1-story structure with a partial second story.
