About the cost of the investigation. Any investigation. All investigations.
I know we ALL feel that nothing should be spared in finding Isa, or any missing child.
My concern is, with the huge number of missing children, how can cities afford this? Especially in this economy? I'm not advocating NOT spending. As I think of the number of hours, equipment, gas, landfill/bodies of water searches, etc., how much can cities afford?
Charging the perp is nearly futile. Casey Anthony may have been billed for a fraction of the costs, but will she really pay it? HAH! If no perp is found, who is billed?
With the numbers of abducted/murdered children seemingly skyrocketing, cities will have to devise a plan to decrease costs.
I always wondered why landfills kept track of what is dumped where... now I know - to make cadaver searches easier. Soon, all trash will be sniffed for cadavers or x-rayed for skeletons, as it enters the landfill. I think I have heard of dozens of landfill searches in the past year.
This is all so sad, and becoming commonplace.

I'm feeling frustrated.
