JMO but I won't be spending any vacation dollars in AZ....just my personal feeling.

Go to SEDONA, Flagstaff or Tucson, just stay away from places like Mesa which is filled with crazy people who have little regard for things like the Constitution. The worst of our state Legislators hail from that area specifically.

(*not everyone from Mesa is crazy for those that dont detect sarcasm well)

My personal feelings about Tucson LE have been very positive in this case. I think they did their best in their briefings to tell the public what they could, without coming right out and saying they were suspicious of the family, which I believe to be true on their part. And a CPS order of any kind requires far less proof to take action, would not require charges or an arrest in order to remove the children from a parent, than the regular legal system. Charges may still be forthcoming, in the meantime the children are with the parent that LE believes to be the safest option...IMO

Not wanting to get political here, nothing I hate worse than threads turning political or religious...but someone elected that governor...JMO

S your loss, not seeing southern Arizona...but hey, I'm very partial to my neck of the woods, er cactus. Just saying, its a big mistake to lump Tucson in with the rest of Arizona...as Pax has stated we are VERY different down here. Viva Baja Arizona! (Only joking, well mostly...)

Here is something else to ponder... With the confidence LE seems to exhibit pertaining to the vitality of Isabel that they are confident they still have a chance of finding Isabel Alive, It really wouldn't phase me that LE and CPS does in fact already have her in custody or protective care AND are merely working the case to unravel what happened. ( Just a hunch ) It may sound kinda weird but it is tottally possible the LEO's know exactly what's up as far as the whereabouts of Isabel but have yet to determine exactly what steps to take to ensure they not only get to the bottom of what happened but that when she goes home she is in safe hands.... IDK just something to think about.

Oh no! How could this possibly be a consideration at all? It would be absurd for LE to know where that sweet child is and not rescue her. I would think their first mission is to safely recover Isabel ~ and set a case against the perpetrators afterwards.

"It is very simple to me. LE does not protect law breakers such as abusers if they have evidence that they sexually abuse their children and they dont protect those who may have threatened their children nor parents if they have found evidence of them doing drugs in the home.

There is absolutely no reason for LE to not charge Sergio with a crime if they had evidence that he has committed any."

OBE's post, Respectfully, there are cases of children poofed from their bedrooms (where, after sleuthing the facts, even if they are back door) Non specified POI's and/or those facts are questionable and the MOMMY and or DADDY...or UNCLE?COUSIN most likely disappeared their child. That is when "Parents" who are looking/or not for their child become OBVIOUS to me. JS

Yes that is because Phx is three times the size of Tucson so they get to make all the decisions and have all the votes BUT it is worth noting the Governor before this sorry excuse we have now was a pretty liberal democrat who left mid term to work for Obama as head of Homeland Security. When she left, the current governor automatically filled her seat and then won a close re-election battle in 2010.

Tucson is Gabby Giffords territory and proudly so, you wont find many people here that support the sort of crazy things you hear in the news about Arizona. Sure there are Republicans and I respect them but generally speaking Tucson a bunch more liberal and progressive than the rest of the state.

I had to spend a lot of time in AZ over the years, worked for a company based out of Phoenix for years, then one based out of Tucson. So I do know Arizona somewhat well, I live in NM. FWIW
I could never take the temps, anyway.

I have been puzzled since the beginning of this case with the comment from TPD that they "did not think that this was a custody issue because the parents were together." I dunno. I can't help wondering why custody concerns were even mentioned :waitasec: Just seemed strange to me at the time and still does. :moo:

My take on that comment was that TPD didn't think that it was an abduction by a non-custodial parent since both parents were living together. JMO. I don't claim to know how stable the relationship was at the time Isabel disappeared, but I haven't seen anything to indicate that they were living separately until Friday's announcement that CPS had intervened. Again, JMO.

As a fellow Tucsonan, I thank you for saying that. We are a diverse group here in the Old Pueblo. :)

OBE, you give me hope that, perhaps, Sergio is just in a very dark place mentally and CPS thought it best he not be around the boys. Not so much that he would hurt the boys, but that it's not healthy for kids to see their parents suffer. What if he's suicidal? Due to the high publicity of case, no way will we hear if he is seeking therapy because of the HIPAA laws.

I see Sergio as a very emotional guy on the best of days. I can certainly understand how this could send him round the bend. And like you say, LE could have his butt in jail if they wanted. But they don't. So I'll await semi-patiently for more news before I jump off the fence.

It never gets out of the 90's in central NM...so yes.
(I am from NY, so not really a SW type of person anyway, lol-just kinda ended up here via jobs along the way.)

If he is suicidal and LE knows it, they better have someone with him, or whatever is legal to do. Taking away one's family when one is already suicidal is hardly the answer, IMO. Especially not even allowing phone contact or anything. I don't buy that as the reason at all. JMO

I hope each and every mom here has had a day filled with love and relaxation! It has been a very full day for me but one that will hold beautiful memories forever.

I still stand by my opinion I posted last night about the 'no contact' order and I even supplied a legitimate link to the Arizona CPS to support my opinion. It clearly states mental instability due to a certain situation can be a valid reason to remove a parent. So I didnt pull it out of thin air. :)

It is very simple to me. LE does not protect law breakers such as abusers if they have evidence that they sexually abuse their children and they dont protect those who may have threatened their children nor parents if they have found evidence of them doing drugs in the home.

There is absolutely no reason for LE to not charge Sergio with a crime if they had evidence that he has committed any.

They would arrest him on these other charges and that would give them plenty of time to continue their investigation into Isa's disappearance.

Just like they arrested Guy Heinz Jr on other charges so they could hold him until they found the evidence that he had murdered his entire family. Just like they arrested Casey on other charges before charging her with Caylee's murder.

So LE isn't going to let someone walk around free who has committed criminal acts when they could easily arrest him if they have evidence to support any criminal wrongdoings.

Imo, we wont hear much more about this and there will come a point in time Sergio will be reunited with his family.

I dont think LE has a clue what happened to Isa or who kidnapped her from her bedroom. Soon we will be going into a month and they still have absolutely nothing to report in their mundane PCs concerning Isa's disappearance.

The odds are against Isa because stranger pedos that abduct small children usually kill them within hours after being taken but I will continue to believe she could be alive until LE tells me that is not the case.

imo

I just want you to know that I really, really appreciate your contributions here. I totally understand those who are more jaded and cynical, I GET IT I REALLY DO, but it just isnt my style and I cant live my life that way and it is refreshing to hear others who refuse to also.

We may end up being wrong but one day we wont be and our belief in someone may really make a difference in their lives.

EDITED TO ADD: I actually appreciate everyone in this thread working on this case, each of you bring a unique and important perspective, as my young niece would say, THIS THREAD IS FULL OF AWESOME!

I agree, there has to be a turning point...I feel the FBI, TLI and Joe Q. Public have the ducks on role call. :rocker: ETA I still search the crowd for info on Stacy P, Lisa (BADWIN)... me thinks/hopes, I guess?

It is where I live ... just a tad north of Santa Fe, NM @ about 8,000 ft. above sea level. Never hot and not that cold and the snow melts fairly quickly.

Perhaps it is a simple matter and they found that SC had stepped out for coffee, milk ect. When he returned he found her gone.
