Cops took their time getting there.

Serious legitimate question here... Could this be some kind of a HOAX? JMHO
(Hope this didn't post before, slow loading board tonight)

Hey, Emerald, I'll give some support to this theory. No doubt something's off with this case; I pondered whether something could have been engineered - concocted - by one or more family members, perhaps for some sort of financial gain. It wouldn't be the first time.

Two things raised my suspicions and got me thinking that way. One, Sergio's comment, "What are your demands?" Two, reports that LE had interviewed the sons' schoolmates about what they were talking about on social media one week prior to the disappearance.

I suspect more strongly, though, that Isabelle is deceased at the hands of someone close and this is a cover-up. Dog hit, family focus, etc.

I now see why LE is focusing on SC as one of their possible POIs.

(Note: LE hasn't said who they're focusing on, but it's obvious.)

Okay, just got home from the grocery store. Read the transcripts in the car (First thought there: CHUCKLES!?), now I am listening to the calls. My thoughts:

My boyfriend and I both listened to Sergio's call together. We both agreed that he sounded way too calm, calm enough to chuckle not once, but twice...but not just that...he talked like he was very rehearsed. Specifically this part: "I have no idea. We woke up this morning and went to go get her up, start her baseball game and she's gone. I woke up my, my sons, I, we looked everywhere in the house and my oldest son noticed her window was wide open and the screen was laying the backyard."

When my boyfriend heard RC on the call he said "That sounds more like a worried parent"

Also, it sounds like someone called 911 for the son...he was out looking for Isabel, and someone probably said "Do you want me to call 911?" I don't think the kid was told to call 911.

Yes but at that time youre not thinking the worse and are likely assuming she is down the street or something, I seriously doubt youre considering a perp came in and took her from her bed in that first hour. Youre calling the police thinking she is nearby or something probably.

But the first thing he said to the 911 operator was that he thought his daughter had been abducted.

It had been stated that the older boy was going to the neighborhood stores, looking for his sister. I thought, from the call, that the man who called on his behalf was a patron in a store, who then drove him back around the block to his house. It's all very close, but it's still a large complex, and would make sense to get home quickly to get the answer to the operator's question.

I tend to be very calm and controlled during a crisis. It is the only way I can be. If I let emotion start to take control, I would be a mess. I would hate to be judged for remaining calm :what:

That was my point, although I am not very good at making points. Everyone reacts differently to things, sometimes I think there is some sort of book that I didnt read as a kid that everyone else did that tells us how we are supposed to act during any given situation.

It appears that the older son was with another man who was driving him.

A – Yeah, I can go ask my dad, I gotta…

Q – Okay. Stay with me on the phone and go ask him.

A – Alright. Can you take me down to…

A1 – (unidentified male) Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come with me.

A – Hold on, I gotta drive back to my house.

Q – You're driving?

A – To get back to my house.

Q – Okay.

A – Someone's gonna give me a ride home.

The son knew where dad was going to be when the 911 operator needed answers. Dad was at the house. Dad was not out yelling Isabel's name while running through the neighborhood. :(

I have one word for Sergio's talk with 911

Sociopath.

Throw all the tomatoes you want at me.

Hmmmm
Sergio sounds calm. Not collected and in charge calm, but calm as in 'this is not a big huge emergency'. He knew immediately what he was doing, watching, saying the night before. He was up at 12 watching sports, etc. Maybe he is great under pressure.
I don't know if this makes him seem more suspicious to me. It sure makes RC seem LESS suspicious to me.

LOL, it's all in perception. When I was listening I thought, wow, she's a great actress. Only because I think she had more opportunity to hid Isa on her way to work, leaving Sergio to wake up as clueless as he sounded.

That said, I'm still hanging out on the fence. :fence:

No need to throw any maters at you, I disagree though, I think that term is bandied about a little too loosely these days.

But I can see why you would think that and you could be right.

SC announcing on a 911 call that his daughter had been abducted (versus saying, "she's not here, she's not in her room, we can't find her in the house...") would raise red flags for a detective, I imagine.

I mean, exactly how would SC know that Isa was abducted?

It's like he's setting up the scenario that LE should follow. Kind of reminds me a bit of Darlie Routier's call to 911 (minus the hysteria). Already setting up alibis, actions, talking about evidence.

I think it was strange that he said "my 14 yo son noticed that her screen was taken off her window."
If he went in to wake her, and she was not in the bed, how did HE not notice the window open and screenless?? If we take him on that word, then he went to tell his son Isa was gone and his son went into Isa's room and noticed the screen gone? I don't buy that. I think he was trying to separate himself from the circumstances. This is my first time really thinking this, but I think he wanted to ignore the screen and act like he didn't see it so his son could be the one to "discover" it. I am not loving Sergio right now.

I was wondering if maybe since it was Friday night and maybe the 14 year old snuck out of his sisters window to go party a little with friends. Not that he had anything to do with Isa being missing but he is the one who opened the window and left it open.

great point. or...sneaking the girlfriend out...or he was sneaking in...

someone's covering for someone here. until we can be sure, i hold all of them responsible. SC, RC, minorC, GDR...oops i mean LE...

Listening a second time:

The "Oh, My daughter.." part about Isabels height...so weird. Just the way it came out.

When SC is talking about how he fell asleep and he heard nothing...it almost like he sounds amazed, baffled....but not distraught at all that his daughter has been abducted.

Also knew exactly what she was wearing. I would have to think long and hard about what my kids wear to bed. My husband would have no idea.

Is LE allowed to tell someone that they passed a poly when the person had actually failed it?

It's just a random scenario that plays in my head but maybe Sergio failed the poly but told him and his wife he had passed it. If the police need more information or evidence, and as long as Sergio is still speaking, the last thing the cops want him to do is get suspicious of being a person of interest and hiring a lawyer.

CPS and police worked together to think of ANYTHING within guidelines to ask him to voluntarily have "no contact" with the children. This way, they could get Sergio alone so that they can more easily watch his every move hoping he will do something or go somewhere that will give them a clue. Now that the kids have "No Contact" with Sergio and he is living alone somewhere. He can do almost anything without explaining himself to Becky.

JMO Now I understand why JVM said Rebecca sounded hysterical - she did, but JVM didn't play all of the 911 calls.

Yes, the Mother does sound very, very upset. The son sounded willing to help answer the 911 questions. He was concerned. It's a surprise to me - Dad, who I thought would sound over-dramatic came across way calm, but not suspiously offering too much info. I don't know, all seem believeable at that point, but surprised Dad wasn't more emotional. I have to remember what it'd feel like when they had all just found out. MOO, Dad had reason to panick more than he did with that window being off.
