Want to know about any service people, construction workers, workers in the area at that time. Also any parties or garage sales, events at that time in that neighborhood...

LE interviewed 540 SO's. Going back again and looking at SO's with level of crimes against children under age 10.

I know they are keeping things close to the vest and don’t want to say exactly what they are thinking, but.......the things he listed like second and third interviews with RSO’s and asking locals questions via flyer....makes it seem less like a month old investigation.

After four weeks, some of these requests seem rudimentary. Should have been weeks ago when people were more apt to remember details. :moo:

This is last scheduled presser

  • #1,606
He said that they have reached some leads going through the investigative process that they need to address by going back to interview a certain population.

this is the last scheduled presser... :-(

last scheduled news conference

Last scheduled presser as they recognize everyone's time is valuable.

Last week they felt the items were significant enough to keep a scheduled presser.

They have minimal new information now, so they will use email unless there is something significant.

No, I don't. IF they have any integrity and want to keep their jobs, they don't talk about evidence to their wives or girlfriends, their mothers or anybody outside LE, if they think that person can't keep their mouths shut. They may trust their wives, girlfriends or mothers but it can still come back and bite them in the butt if it's leaked. Women love secrets, but they also love to share secrets with other women. Which makes it not a secret anymore. I love that old saying that two people can keep a secret if one of them is dead.

I don't take things from other message boards as facts. Anybody can claim anything on the internet.

I suspect there's probably an element of leaving work at work as well; talking about cases at home means you're just dragging work home with you, so you don't get a break.

Better for the officer's mental health to be able to leave work behind and enjoy home time as home time.

Oh I hate it when it gets to this point, poor Isa. :(

this presser is sending a ‘cold case’ chill down my spine

My thoughts: I am surprised that LE did a month's worth of press conferences. In so many cases, the press conferences don't last a month.

the lead sheet, the 8 page lead sheet has a lot of questions asked there and one of those questions is who
resides at each particular home. They may have 5 or 6 people at a home. We are going to make sure that we speak to everyone who lives in each
home.

Q: the flyer
A: Well kinda a questionnaire, not a flyer posted in any location. For those homes we're going back
to speak to people we will leave it at their house. It does have a few questions for them. Different
from the one from a few weeks ago. The one will be given to the media so you can see it

A: We don't know that. It would be something for him or the family to answer if he's decided
to hire private counsel. So far, they've been cooperating with us. We hope that continues to be the case.

This is the last scheduled news conference. As the investigation goes on day to day, the amount
of information that we are able to share with you is less and less. So for those reasons,
we'll be updating the media. If there is a break, we'll notify you and get that information
as quickly as possible.

This should not be construed as we are losing interest. WE value your resources and the time it takes
for you to be here and the time it takes for our folks to work. We want to come here and provide
you with significant infomation, not just minimal information to share with you. Last week there
were some items that, in our estimation, were pretty significant. We've reached the point
that unless we have some significant information, we then will update you. You can ask questions
to our media relations office and we'll answer as quickly as we can.

All the information they have, they can't release because of it's sensitivity.

It just sounds like they are summing up everything they have been doing for a month.

  • #1,616
You rock, Ingra!

  • #1,617
That's why I feel that it's a good possibility that Isa could have been taken across the border to Mexico. Why or how that happened in beyond me.

I agree. I was told this is why US Marshals are involved. Maybe LE doesn't have a clue so they are checking all scenarios. Let's hope they have something concrete soon.

Press Conference

-at no time have we told them [parents] not to speak
-told them to be available to you

  • #1,619
We never told them not to speak and we've always encouraged the family to speak with you.

They aren't necessarily back to square one. It's an effort to make sure our investigation is comprehensive, that we haven't missed anything. We want to be more precise in some of the folks we go out and talk to. When we go and reinterview the SO we scaled our search into how many had victims involved with ages. So we are looking at those with victims of 10 years and younger. We are trying to narrow our scope. We are not back to square one. WE continue to refine our investigation.

My thoughts: LE should have already focused more on SO's with crimes to children under 10 years of age.
