O/T FYI

MORGAN HILL, Calif. —
A 21-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with one count of murder and one count of kidnapping Monday in connection with the disappearance of Morgan Hill teen Sierra LaMar, according to authorities.

KTVU confirmed Monday evening that Santa Clara sheriff's deputies were holding 21-year-old Antolin Garcia-Torres in custody as a suspect in the case.

Well, we've seen all of the networks repeat the same errors, like the boys were Sergio's ex wife's...and the CPS visit was minor...and on and on

So this "sources say" does not fly with me be it ABC, NBC, or HLN

Exactly! They get their information from other news sources or by standing around listening to other reporters talking.

I have a couple of questions about the official website:

1. When was this website set up?

2. The case 'facts' on the left sidebar-have those been there since the page was started?

3. If the case 'facts' HAVE been there since the site's inception, is it possible that the 6:30 departure time given for RC may have been changed?

I ask because there has been a lot of discussion over RC not stating what time she left, and then when the 911 calls were released, she stated she left for work at 7.

Yesterday was the first time I checked out the official Isa website and when I saw the info about RC leaving at 6:30, I was sorta flummoxed, as it had been my understanding that there had been no definitive statement from the family as to when she left!

I ask these questions sincerely, and without snark. I just think it makes a big difference and I am fairly certain we will never have an official statement from RC clearing this up.

Maybe the info on the website was added/changed after public scrutiny/questions over the sketchy morning timeline?

Did any of you see the website when it was first launched?

TIA!

When the site was created really doesn't matter so much as what information could have been changed there during the time it's been up. I would have liked to have gotten a screen shot of it when first created.

The point I was trying to make about this is that everyone was saying that Nancy Grace was the only one who had reported that Isabel slept with her brothers. Apparently NG isn't the only one, since we have the link where ABC reports it, too. Who knows if it's true or not.

It doesn't matter who reported it, it's where this information came from that matters to me. If this information came from a friend, neighbor, co-worker and not from a family member, then how did they know this? Did one of the boys say it, or did one of the parents mention it?
Sometimes "occasionally" can morph into "usually" or even "always." If she always slept with her brothers, then why did she sleep in her room that night? I think that's the important thing... was this info correct, or did this person just assume it was "usually?"
I used to get into my brothers' bed to listen to the radio with them when I was that age. I didn't do it every night, just occasionally. But to hear my brothers talk, one would think it was an every night thing.

After seeing an arrest in the Sierra Lamar case, I have hopes that LE knows what they are doing in this case even if they are not giving info out publicly.

I, too, am trying to remain patient and positive about an eventual arrest in connection with Isabel's disappearance. Despite their reluctance to share information about the case, I feel confident that TPD has conducted a comprehensive and thorough investigation. Hopefully, a perp or perps will be taken into custody within the next week or two.

While we wait, I've been considering doing a "poll" about the possibilities in the disappearance of Isabel Celis if there's enough interest. I have a couple of errands to run today but could work on a poll this afternoon.

This! This just kills me!

Why isn't LE asking for all the help they can get in finding Isa's body?????

No way have they already found her, they wouldn't/couldn't sit on that kind of info.

So what could possibly be their reason for not actively searching/asking for searchers for Isa?

This kinda chaps my hiney. :(

Because they know where she is? That is the only reason I don't search for things.

LE seemed to be focused on Isabel's room, but also on the boys' room too. RC said that there were chemicals used by LE in the boys' room. We don't actually know where she slept that night.Or even if she ever went to sleep. We also do not know when the two boys went to bed either.

The only thing that has definately been stated either bedroom is that SC says that he went into her room to wake her. There is probably a definate reason why LE also focused on the boys room...MOO

AFAIK, "everyone" was saying the comment originated on NG as "there are reports out there" but she never identified a source, nor has the source identified themself publicly. Other media has repeated the assertion, but they too say "sources," and all references (that I have seen) are dated after NG aired the segment in which she made the claim. This is by no means something one would not admit to having said, if they had, but nobody has come forward claiming ownership of that statement.

Question for the locals: When do the snowbirds leave Arizona?

In Florida they start leaving end of April and are basically out before the end of May as hurricane season starts June 1st.

Considering it was 108 degrees yesturday...not even done with may! My mom couldnt make it through april. Our sweet old aunt goes back to PA in mid april as well, but most leave may or june.

I find it strange that Sergio would go to her room to wake her IF she usually slept in her brothers room.
Sergio said Isa said she was tired and went to bed. He didn't say which bed. People assume she would have gone to her bedroom. MOO

I have come to the conclusion some will believe what they want to believe regardless. It doesn't take a "rocket scientist" to know that LE is not going to share anything to NBC, ABC and especially HLN, that they wouldn't share with the local media "hungry" for information.

This is why listening to the press conference done by LE is so important because they state the information, especially with regards to TPD going to the Celis' home and it being "minor incidents", whereas NBC turns it into CPS went to the house and it was a "minor incident".

I should add FOX (cable) into the mix because they were doing a live report on a case, of which, I can't remember the case and they announced an arrest and the district attorney was doing a news conference. It turned out not even being about the case. So many of us were waiting in anticipation and poof .. FOX moved on.

JMO ...

As I was visiting the early articles last night, I came across the local ABC affiliate KGUN article announcing the first interview on NBC's today show.

KGUN snip: "In addition to providing Sergio and Rebecca Celis' first public interview, the NBC report also presented another first. It broadcast the first clip of home video of Rebecca that has been seen in public. The value of such video in helping the public search for the missing child and remain on the lookout for her is obvious, but no such video has been released to Tucson media. KGUN9 News is among those media outlets that have been seeking it for days."
"

I remember the next presser at 2 pm after the NBC Today Show local reporter(s) aksing questions about why LE guided parents toward NBC and national media rather than local media. They continued to ask
questions about when the parents might interview with local stations (which then happened the very next day) making points about the importance of local television outlets reaching out in local areas with the interest in finding Isa.

This report claims "sources" say that Isa slept with her brothers, however, this is the same report that Nancy Grace has stated. Nancy and GMA are connected at the hip.

A caller into Nancy's show asked Nancy about Isa and sleeping with her brothers. Nancy went to Natisha about this information, and Natisha came back stating: "there is a report out there."

No one has been able to confirm or deny the information about whether Isa slept with her brothers.

I think it's important that we not make assumptions about what reporters from competing stations do, unless someone is a verified media source and has actual proof that one entiry shared info with another entity.

It has been my experience in working in media (I think I'll take the time and get veried today) that these completely separate news teams (ABC versus HLN/ CNN, FOX, etc etc) do NOT "share" information. These entities are in competition with one another, not on each other's payroll.

BTW, not talking about affiliates or local stations where agreements have been made to share video, etc.

I will add to your "points of contradictions" that HLN also repeatedly showed the wrong windows for Isa's room as they showed the garage windows. In fact, they super-imposed a screen below those windows. Never once did they ever correct that information.

:what:

Seriously? I wondered about that screen. Did they really do that?
I don't remember seeing any disclaimer on that image.

FWIW, I don't make assumptions with regards to what I hear on any of the major networds or cable shows.

I am aware they all are in competition with one another, and some try and get the news story out their first, only to get it wrong, and not admit their error.

In my example of Nancy's show regarding "sleeping with her brothers", Nancy is a legal expert on ABC/GMA and repeats what she states on ABC/GMA later or before on her show on HLN.

It is known that all the major media shows will share videos and reports from locals and other media shows, via videos etc., etc.

Yup, I recall it, and I think it was on Jane's show, but it could have been on Nancy, or Nancy shared it on her show.

I did record it and uploaded it to my channel.

It was 105 in Tucson, Arizona yesterday. Unseasonably HOT! Born and raised in Tucson and it is rare for it to get this hot, this early in the year.

Someone asked about theories last night. I theorized that something might have happened to Isabele inside that house that caused the family to go into cover-up mode.

We know that LE concentrated on her room and the boys' room. Perhaps they found some evidence in the boys' room that might explain the need for a cover-up.

Perhaps they are protecting on of their other children?
