I personally think they are going to stay away from situations on camera, when the reporter attempts to elicit tears and crying. I'd like to think that I would be able to be on camera, doing whatever it took to bring my child home. I know my husband would not be able to, though. People are different.

I do think that is a lot of it. They know by now that the media and public is expecting them to act a certain way and I think they are exasperated because no matter what they do or say it is criticized. They arent stupid... they know what people that dont know them are saying about them. They also know everytime they do speak out it just becomes worse for them.

Some people can just shuck it off and plow straight ahead but then some are more sensitive than others and get dismayed that their every word seems not to be believed. I believe the Celis family has given up on trying to convince the media or the public of anything.

I think they just think it is fruitless to come out in the media and talk. It really accomplishes nothing and just seems to create more resentment against them.

Not everyone is tough enough to withstand the media asking very personal questions that really is no one's business anyway. A lot of times the questions asked of parents like this has nothing to do with trying to find the missing child.

imo

Suffice it to say, I'm on pins and needles awaiting these documents.

I know! It's right up there with floor plans! Just kidding everyone.

I did hear them read off something about the forensics of Isa's room but they didn't say the details, also the TPD took pictures of footprints outside Isa's room.

To those to whom I made Laugh.... I'm glad you took that as a joke and got a laugh out of it. On a serious note though I really wonder what 'if anything' of value will be revealed in the 500plus pages released to the media. ... Gonna check and see if LE may have also shared those pages on thier site or anywhere with public access.

Ohhh... already dribbles of the info coming over the news wire.... Taken from the documents--A man informed a detective, while at a Bruegger's Bagels near the Celis home, that he coached baseball with Sergio Celis and that he 'knows him well.'
The detective's write up continues: "(The man) went on to say that something didn't seem right about what was going on and alluded that he believed that the father was involved in some way."

If LE has released documents, they, at least, are determined to keep Isabel in the news, even if her parents are more...hesitant...to do so. JMO

This.

And forgive me for asking, but did I read on that latest article posted about moving the volunteer center that proceeds from the sale of bracelets, stickers, etc. will go towards making more posters?

Why not get over themselves, step outside their comfort zone, and get their butts on tv tout de suite! Scrutiny, schmutiny. This isn't about SC and RC, it's about Isa.

Hold up a photo of Isa, say "This is our baby, Isabel Celis, 6 years old. She has been missing 34 days. Please, if you know anything or have seen anything, call LE or our Isa hotline. All calls are confidential. We just want our daughter home where she belongs. We love her with all of our hearts!"

Or something like that. Bracelet sales for more posters? Pffft.

Hey SC and RC: Get off yer rear ends and keep Isa's face and name out there!

Unless they, for some reason, do not want any more focus on Isa's disappearance. In which case they are doing a bang up job.

JMO

Is there any new information on Isa's case? I wonder about the "sitting duck" thing myself...jmo

500-600 pages? If media does a mass drop of the documents, can we divide them up here? My eyes get tired just being 10 pages behind.

Yes, we're expecting them to act like parents of a child who is missing child and who they believe was abducted.

And they don't.

IMO, they avoid appearing on media and even in the public eye because LE has called their bluff. They avoid public statements because they know their stories can't stand up to scrutiny. Heck, they don't even venture out to the search center except once every two weeks. And when they do, they remain mute.

the younger son spoke to emily collins at party city. imo you don't mistake a 7-8 year old for a 14 year old. IMO she was speaking of the younger, 10 year old...jmo...

http://abcnews.go.com/US/missing-tucson-girl-isabel-celis-surveillance-videos-hold/story?id=16210060

My name is emily collins i was interviewed by neal,,,this is a very devastating story i really do hope she found ok the things i cant figure out is ive had numerous of customers come into my store stating they are the parents of the children that go to isabels school and they all were stating that isabel did not even show up at school friday and later that night she comes up missing?????... And why on earth...i undertand u are loking for her but dont just sent your 7-8 year old son by himself to ask around when u just had your daughter abducted ..I guess they just obvious wanted to know but why chance your other child ....

Are you saying both the kids left the property? Sorry, I'm confused about where the older boy was when the person called 911 for him.

"So far, questions about who could be involved haven't been answered.

"We're just not at a position yet that we could share those things with you, not at a position where we could tell you we have this person as a suspect or that person as a suspect."

Many are beginning to wonder how much TPD really knows.

"Whoever is involved did an adequate job of really covering a lot of things that we could possibly look at." May 6

http://www.kvoa.com/news/police-say-whoever-did-this-did-an-adequate-job/

What does LE look at when conducting an investigation? Physical evidence, and alibi, motive?

I was reading a blog about Isa and a comment on the blog said to look at the local grocery store. I thought that was a very good idea. There are only so many places a little 6 yo goes as they are too young to venture out on their own. Church, a ball game, the grocery store, perhaps a walk to get a snow cone. It will be someone who blends in and has a reason to be near the home. Are the local swimming pools open yet? I wish we knew more about Isa. Did she take dance lessons or gymnastics? Had she recently been to a quinceanera? One pic on Becky's fb has Isa in a pretty blue party dress with a birthday sash. Who else was there? I know you guys don't know the answers, but I wish we know more about recent events.

I'm not minimizing other poster's ideas, only thinking about this one for a while. :seeya:

moo

I love hearing other people's ideas or theories - there are so many different ones to consider, and since we are currently at a standstill with no more scheduled pressers, it's good to have these posts to read!

ETA: I wrote the above post before the news of the docs being released tonight - wow, that will be interesting!!!

I am confused about that too. I think some convenience store? And it took the person 6 minutes to drive 14son back home. IIRC. So he must have ventured a ways that morning. And accepted a ride from a stranger the very morning his sister goes missing.

Unless I am wrong and 14son knew the good samaritan? I really am not clear on this whole piece.

They have shown the parents at the command center all evening helping to carry supplies. Also the person who was interviewd said they were possibly looking to opening another center in town. Both appear to be helping as to where to put things...

I've seen the parents. There should be a release of the video tonight somewhere & you decide. It was Tucson News Now or KOLD 13.

Honestly, I wouldn't even expect them to field questions, although I have many I'd like to ask.

I'd just like to see them ask the public not to give up on finding Isa. Talk about her, make her REAL to people who just read a line or two about some 'other missing kid'. 'This is Isa, our Isa, please help is find our little girl. '

Released as in 'to the public' or just to the media?

Poor schlubs like me wanna read em, too!

Placating the public and building perceptions to make the looky-loos feel better has to be pretty low on the priority list.

The case will get solved, if it gets solved, by LE following leads, evidence, and catching some breaks along the way. Someone in Peoria, IL (nice town that it is), is not going to be able to do anything.

As long as LE is working the case, contacting who they need to contact, interviewing and amassing evidence, that's the most important thing. If there's something specific the Tucson and area public need to do, the request will be put out.

Has LE asked for the public's help in the last few weeks? If no, then they don't require anything from the public.

Regardless of what the Celis parents do or don't do or how they interact or don't interact with the media, it doesn't change in anyway what has already happened to Isa on the morning she was taken away from her house. It gives the looky-loos something to focus on and chomp on, and maybe it gives LE some behaviors to analyze, but in the big picture it doesn't do much of anything.

No one has forgotten Isa and LE has not abandoned investigating the case.

I guess the media. I saw a twitpic of a stack of papers. If media does release all of it, how long would it take to convert 600 pages to PDF files?

I assume the documents will be available upon request from Pima County. Not sure how that works.
