OMG, I don't even think coffee will work for me.

They need some speed readers...lol.

Anyone want to place bets on who will have the docs posted on their website first?

KVOA
KGUN
KOLD/aka TucsonNewsNow

Nancy Grace? (just kidding)

I think what it boils down to at this point is LE is letting the cat out of the bag so the scandel can come to an end, the public can see the lies, the parents will fold and stop with thier phoney fund raisers and Isa can be brought home.. IDK but there is a reason behind dumping the case files out to the media.... If you can't make the case stick in court you mine as well let the case ride out in the court of public opinion and see what comes of it. JMO... but seems like what the deal is.

Phony fundraisers? Did you watch this video:

I guess not. :moo:

I got this visual the other day as I was thinking of how the public watches for clues in this and other cases and tries to guess at what's happening and how LE investigators are proceeding at their jobs:

Imagine you are a worker in a company. Now imagine a bunch of people are trying to figure out what you are doing at work.

Let's say you're generating data to put in a report. Now imagine that hundreds or thousands of people are commenting on what they think you're doing, how you're doing it, whether you really know how to pull data, know how to build a report, what kind of computer you might be using, maybe they doubt you're even working. Then they try to guess what the report might be about. Perhaps clues can be found by looking for your facebook account, or maybe Twitter, or what kind of restaurant you go to. Then they start throwing out theories of it all. Sales forecast! List of debts! Office football pool!

And you, meanwhile, just have to go about your day and do your job and keep focused on it, day after day, while masses of people, who you don't work with, don't know, will likely never work with, like to pretend they work for your employer, are doing your job, and are doing it better/faster/smarter, even though they have no training or experience except they saw some TV shows that had people working on reports at a computer.

That's how I imagine it must feel for LE in all the craziness of a case.

I don't think LE pay attention to the second-guessing, and in any case, I think they can take it.

JMO, but I feel that they use the public and the media as tools when it can help them advance a case, as they have here. They have been calling the shots in ths case from the beginning, and the media is following their lead, not the other way around.

"Because of security concerns and concerns for the privacy of Rebecca and Sergio Celis, KGUN9 News has agreed to withhold the location where the press conference took place. KGUN9 News has confirmed, however, that NBC News has been paying for the Celis family to stay at the hotel. During the press conference, the Celis's denied that they were directly compensated for Thursday's exclusive appearance on The Today Show or for the exclusive video of Isabel that they provided to NBC. The family released that same video to Tucson media later Thursday."

Hopefully KGUN9 or some other outlet has done some digging into this, because when SC's and RC's lips are moving they're lying. JMO.

I am confused about that too. I think some convenience store? And it took the person 6 minutes to drive 14son back home. IIRC. So he must have ventured a ways that morning. And accepted a ride from a stranger the very morning his sister goes missing.

Unless I am wrong and 14son knew the good samaritan? I really am not clear on this whole piece.

The "convenience store" is what I recall, as well. Somehow, this morphed into "Party City" at the shopping center behind the Celis' home. The 14-year-old was acquainted with the person who worked at the local 7/11 or gas station food-mart which seems to me much more likely than knowing a manager at "Party City" that is a national chain with thousands of employees and probably multiple managers at any given store. :moo:

Are you saying both the kids left the property? Sorry, I'm confused about where the older boy was when the person called 911 for him.

He ran for the hills...

the younger son spoke to emily collins at party city. imo you don't mistake a 7-8 year old for a 14 year old. IMO she was speaking of the younger, 10 year old...jmo...

http://abcnews.go.com/US/missing-tucson-girl-isabel-celis-surveillance-videos-hold/story?id=16210060

My name is emily collins i was interviewed by neal,,,this is a very devastating story i really do hope she found ok the things i cant figure out is ive had numerous of customers come into my store stating they are the parents of the children that go to isabels school and they all were stating that isabel did not even show up at school friday and later that night she comes up missing?????... And why on earth...i undertand u are loking for her but dont just sent your 7-8 year old son by himself to ask around when u just had your daughter abducted ..I guess they just obvious wanted to know but why chance your other child ....

Thanks, WR, I had not seen that one. The only one I saw was the very shortened version of EC's statement. I stand corrected.

Frankly, I find that bizarre. SC believed that someone had broken into his home and "kidnapped" his 6 YO, so he sends his 8 YO (by himself) out to search for her?!

At any rate, it was the older son at the vigil with his mother rather than the younger son. Unless I'm mistaken on that one too, which is possible.

No...Noo... Noooo We most deff are no longer at a standstill LE just released over 500 pages of investigative documents

I know, I was posting before reading through everyone else's (I should know better than to do that!)

First, let me thank you for the laugh earlier on (needed that!) and . . .

Wow, I'm happy to hear some docs are being released - great news!

Honestly, I wouldn't even expect them to field questions, although I have many I'd like to ask.

I'd just like to see them ask the public not to give up on finding Isa. Talk about her, make her REAL to people who just read a line or two about some 'other missing kid'. 'This is Isa, our Isa, please help is find our little girl. '

EXACTLY!!! Well said frayedknot! :woohoo:

It was the 14 year old and the Celis family does not have an 8 year old.

This will be the stuff they don't need for an idictment or for a trial. It's like a process of elimination for us to find out what direction they are focused on. If it's pretty enlightening stuff...cool beans.

I doubt they will release much until the 10 pm news has given their take on the breaking news. It's 7:53...

It's not about their ability to take it. It's how I imagine it feels being in their shoes as they go about their jobs of investigating cases when the case has outside interest. Surreal. Kinda strange. Dealing with some crazoids who think it's an episode of CSI and they are gonna solve it all.

Anyway, that's the visual I got and it kind of gave me a chuckle when I imagined this same level of interest in someone in a whole different environment...working on some normal thing with people speculating about it.

The POINT is that NBC had paid for their hotel lodging, so they received remuneration from the network even *IF* they had not received direct payment for the interview. The date is moot.

Yeah, they want to keep us on the edge of our seats. Gonna have to use the headbanging wall emoticon.

Sorry, folks :D
