Well Tucson is certainly as seedy as YOU want it to be...speaking as a native who has NEVER been into the drug scene...

My drug of choice are the mountains and desert surrounding the city and SOMETIMES the city itself...no better or worse than any other city and with a certain quirky oddness all its own. If you want to attribute that as 'seedy' well again, I'd say that interpretation says as much about the speaker as it does the town...

Tucson is a very "vibrant and diverse place. Mix of urban and rural". Born
and raised and NEVER been into any drug scene. A little video from Savannah Guthrie that shows what Tucson is all about :)

Well Mendara.. I dont know about a big black hole they are disappearing in BUT there are several people/drug smuggling tunnels in Douglas and along the border... and I am not talking about some rough mole hole either, there are tunnels that are very elaborate with rail cars, walls, lighting, elevators, lift systems.. It's nuts. People who don't know much about the AZ, Cartels and Smuggling people think its some sort of far fetched joke that you would only see in a movie... So untrue... there are well over 200 tunnels and counting crossing the US / Mex border some as deep as 100 feet going as far as 700 yards.

I am wondering why Isabel's parents have not done another interview with the media, etc to keep her face out there... It is just so strange to me...especially after seeing Michelle Parker's mom the other day...

Sorry, but it just strikes me as plain strange. Just my opinion.

I think with as much CRAP that the media trys to twist out of everything they see and hear... it's just not something they want to do, everytime they speak you got the vultures that come after and just pick the couple apart... Sad but true, its a no win situation, no matter what they say/do it is scrutinized, they go on tv they get picked on and blamed, they don't go on tv people think they are hiding something... I think they are doing just fine with getting the flyers around the city and keeping it a local matter. There is no need to subject themselves to nation media scrutiny.

Yup! They have some major operations. Tucson is the stop from mexico before it goes to other parts of the US. Luckily I can say that I don't have any fears living here. Just have to work on our families and ensure our children do not get involved in drugs. No demand ='s no supply, and I can personally take that on to make this world a better place.

That's in Douglas? HR, RC's father lives there, him and her three brothers were interviewed at her brother MR's apt, in Tucson. RR's truck was towed and searched at police evidence and the day after, RR and HR went up to an offc and said family had told them HR's vehicle was also going to be taken. That was in the docs, but never heard if HR's vehicle was taken. Also, Douglas is where JM got his drug charge. RR moved from Douglas to Tucson.

I just transcribed from video, the prayer that RC read at the Candlelight vigil on May 18, 2012. There was only one part that I couldn't understand one or two words, and there I'll put a **.

"Father, I am totally helpless in this situation. Father, only You can save my daughter. Only You know where she is located at.(sic) Only You, Father, know who this evil, mad predator is and how we can find him. Help the detectives to find...to find my daughter. (Pauses for 5-10 seconds while she composes herself) Father, please, in the name of Jesus Christ, move now to save my daughter's life from this unholy and foul creature. Give her a second chance to live again. Do not let her go home to be with You before it is her time to actually do so. Both myself, my husband, my boys and all of our family members and friends are now standing here before You and asking that you take this assignment of ** to bring my daughter back home quickly, as quickly as you deem possible. My daughter's life is now in Your mighty hands. Let Your Perfect Will now be done on this situation. We ask that You please have mercy on both our daughter and our family and bring her safely back home so we can all be reunited with her. Thank You, Father. Thank You, Jesus, for hearing all of our cries and petitions on this extreme matter. In Jesus' name. Amen."

Before she read it, she indicated that this is the prayer that she and Isa's family have said every night, together, since her disappearance.

i don't disagree but there are ways to make statements to acknowledge & appreciate the public and LE for the million taxpayer dollars and hundreds of hours donated by volunteers...like a "thank-you-note"...kwim?

Might also be interesting to note that the same day JM got his drug and alcohol charge in Douglas there was a major drug bust in the Douglas border area. There is no telling if JM was involved with that or not as I can't seem to find any more specific information relating to these busts but if he was then it could explain drug debt if there is one.

If you like, I can transcribe the "thank you" that RC gave to the public on the evening of the candlelight vigil.

I don't think the media have done anything - we have said and done a lot worse in here than the media has done. I think the media has been very gentle with this family.

RC had said they were praying every night with family around and they even had their cellphones out so others could join with them. Not sure if SC's part of their family prayer time, in person or cellphone, but this was before the CPS agreement. The volunteers at their center said RC and SC stop by everyday, and that interview was last weekend, so they're still seeing each other every day. Ofcourse my suspicious mind of anyone not cleared went to, what if any of those family members were involved and this was a way to keep each other in the loop of the case, but that's just me. :)

My kids are grown but I have asked a lot of co-workers if a 6 yr old takes a shower 100% say no. They take baths. So I wonder why IC would be taking a shower.:read:

I have a 3-year-old-son who takes showers at times, so I don't see anything hinky about it as it applies to this case, if that helps. I think a lot of young children prefer baths because they don't like getting the spray in their faces and on their head, which is why you might have gotten 100% baths from your co-workers.

oh no need. i have it. thank you anwyay... but i said "statements" plural. yes, she gave a thank-you in their initial on-camera appearance. but the community of tucson (and LE) have gone far far beyond the call of duty with their generosity and time...IMO. so the family should go far far beyond in thanking them. IMO.

respectfully, it is not about them.. it is about their daughter and keeping her face out there.

Mark Klaas repeatedly says the same thing over and over, case after case.

At the same time, just because they don't respond the way we think they should means nothing. They will do what they feel is best, and what WE think is best means nothing in the long run. We aren't in their situation and she is not our child. I easily see both sides but I am not going to critisize them for going one way or the other...I have not walked in their shoes.

Now if one of them is guilty, thats why they aren't out there more. If not, then they have their reasons. It is true that they are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

I know Mark Klaas is a big friend of WS, and has lots of admirers here, but I have said in other threads that, as admirably as he might have handled himself in his own situation, not everyone is or can be a Mark Klaas. Each of us has a different personality, a different background, different reactions to stress, danger, confusion, etc. all these things come together to make each of us uniquely *us*. And so we all will have our own similarly unique reactions to a given set of circumstances.

I don't think its fair to either Mark Klaas, or to other parents, to set him up as a sort of pinnacle or exemplar of what parents of missing children should or must do. That's setting a lot of good folks up for failure.

I do say this though with great respect to Ms Nurse with the Big Needle, whose posts I greatly admire all over WS :D

Each time I have heard one of the Celis's speak, or read an interview, I've heard them thank all the volunteers, as well as the prayers and well wishes of people from around the world. So I'm not sure where it is coming from that they never thank anyone :waitasec:

So true, if they can run around together everyday, they can stop for two seconds to talk to a camera that's probably following them around. They can say, "I love you Isabel, we're doing everything we can to get you back." Since they've not talked in public for awhile now, not sure if they've went back to work, but there are the donations, maybe they won't have to go back to work for awhile. I wonder why they drop by the volunteer center everyday, but I guess that's where donations are received and sent to now. JMO I don't think what's best is to do nothing at all, just saying...

Not to split hares, white rabbit. (;))

But I can count three separate times RC has thanked police and the public. That is plural.

Out of curiousity, where did you get a copy of her "thanks" at the candlelight vigil? I looked online before I transcribed her prayer (didn't want to transcribe it if it was already out there) and I couldn't find the prayer OR her comments after.
